I guess everyone here has seen this guy doing crazy shit in Jackass or Bam Margera's own show, but you'll see him no more.
34-year-old Dunn appeared in all of the "Jackass" movies -- famously shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first flick back in 2002.
Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash which happened around 3 a.m. at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. It's unclear who was driving the car.
We're told the car caught fire in the crash -- and hours later, a tow truck was called to the scene to remove the charred wreckage.
Ryan Dunn died when his Porsche flew over a guardrail on Route 322 in West Goshen, Pa. slammed into a tree and burst into flames around 2:30 Monday morning, Officer Geiger with the West Goshen police department told us.
Dunn was known primarily for his dangerous antics and practical jokes in the "Jackass" movies with his long-time friend Bam Margera. He is also a member of the CKY Crew with Margera.
At this moment, no one seems to know who was the other guy who died in the accident. And it seems that Dunn was drinking before the accident (according to his Twitter(?) page, where he posted a picture of him and his friends drinking in a bar)
Remember him for being "what a joker, what a funny guy", for the fun times we had, practical jokes and gags all around. It got to him till he couldn't tell the limit, and he went to far. But still a REAL funny guy, let's remember him for that and enjoy the laughs

yeah the car was going at 180km/hr
it's still sad news though. maybe just because the jackass films were some of my favourites
I want to feel bad for the man, but I have no sympathy for anyone who drives drunk, especially when they have a passenger in the car. I've had too many family members who have been in the car with or hit by drunk drivers; grow a pair and call a taxi if you're wasted, or even just a little drunk. The cost of a taxi means nothing to the cost of your own life and the lives of others.

Read the OP. It's unknown right now who was driving.
Drunk, speeding in a Porsche. Good job, parents! That's what happens when you combine weak character/poor judgement with money. These kinds of people are a danger to all of us. I like his work, but let's not idolize his anti-social behavior.
Stupid if he was drunk, though, that man alone is responsible for so many damn laughs I've had either when I've been down or had a good time already. R.I.P

True, but atm, It's unclear who was driving the car. So i'd say theres no point with these posts.
hi i'm ryan dunn and this is the 100 mph drunken car flip against a concret wall ....
i strongly believe he would have laughed about that. It's a tough blow but as a jackass guy you have to leave like that, you cannot die in an old peoples home.

The local news post was updated to read
Dunn's passenger -- who hasn't been identified -- was also killed.
I'd trust them to have a more accurate story over TMZ.
Not sure why everyone needs to post their morals and feelings of "a justified end". The guy's already dead, save it for people still alive and taking these risks.

RIP Dunn. The jackass movies are easily some of my favorites. I hope ppl can learn from this. Not even the Jackass stars are immune to the consequences of drunk driving. having drinks with friends is always a good time but call a taxi! he was too young and will be missed. His beard was very handsome too.

aparently. he wasn't the one driving.
gg Ryan, you entertained alot of us.
Do you have a source for that? According to this, he was the driver.
It's hard to feel sympathy when someone drinks and drives.
People need to relax with the whole, "he deserved it" thing. That's honestly kind of fucked up, yeah what he did isn't justifiable, but neither is going around saying stuff like that, dudes dead, give it a break. Not to mention, it still states on multiple web sources that its unknown who was driving, and I'm willing to bet whoever was the passenger was drunk and didn't think twice about which one of them drove.
Anyways, he seemed like one of the only quality dudes from Jackass. RIP.

Just pay your respects .__.
He took a life with him, driving drunk, it's not someone of your own family so its pretty easy to talk like that, it is pretty fucked up taking a life when you do the mess, my respect to the family of the passenger.
If he was drunk I have no remorse for him, only for the other person killed. Either way it's sad that someone who projected a little humour in to my life is now gone.

Imo he threatened is passenger who was forced to go with him... if he killed someone else on the road ok but there...
People.. you don't even know if he was drunk or not, or even if he was driving. They could have been sober, but speeding in his Porsche. I wouldn't make assumptions till the results are actually posted. RIP to any one who dies young.
OP says that as of right now, it is unsure who was actually driving, AND not once did it mention that the driver was intoxicated. So all the talk about drinking and driving and not feeling sorry for him...........
Let's keept that bottled up till the all the facts have been gathered.....
He was shown on twitter a few hours earlier drinking. Not to say he was drunk while driving until the facts are out. Sad waste of life of a truly funny guy.
He always seemed like one of the more sensible and down to earth of the whole CKY/Jackass crew, so it's sad to see him go.
What was known is that there were 2 people in the car, unsure who was driving, but Dunn was seen drinking alcohol earlier in the night, if there was a single one of them who wouldnt drink and drive, it would have been Dunn. Lets hope that that if is true.

I don't understand your thought process. Pretty sure he never set out to be a role model and the youth is generally intelligent enough to decide not to let guys like him be role models and if they are not then that is not his problem anyways. Yeah drunk driving is horrible but the facts aren't even out yet. He may have not been the driver, and maybe he wasn't drunk. You can have a drink without being drunk by the way. Please show some respect to human beings.

Unless there has been a new development, there's no proof he was driving as of now. However, that's irrelevant because even if he was you shouldn't hate on him in his death for his mistakes, remember him for his highlights.

Thank you for being a voice of reason.
I think this is fitting, being from the Jackass 2 soundtrack. I lost a friend of mine who ultimately made an awful decision and all I could think of was this song.

I'm so sad. I'm a hardcore Jackass fan of Jackass and for them to lose a major member of Jackass is just sooo saddening. I wonder how it will affect the group.
Here we go, confirmation that he drove it drunk. Might want to update the OP with it.
That's the same information that's been out for a while now, and there's nothing near "conformation that he drove it drunk." There's one picture of him with a drink in his hand, that's it. Everything else is people speculating.

Quoting the article:
"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was the driver in this morning's fatal crash ... this according to cops who also say Dunn's car was "fully engulfed in flames" when officials arrived to the scene.
So it is actually confirmed that he was driving. Would be good to have the OP updated with that information.
As for the drinking part, I'd hardly call it speculating that he had at least had one beer. Still a shame to see him go tho', as I said earlier, he was probably the most sensible of the bunch and a great entertainer.
RIP. I loved the movies, but he really shouldn't be remembered for that. He was a great guy and I followed his twitter quite often. Sucks that it had to end this way.

Well, first off, I don't hate on anyone. The evidence so far suggests that he was driving. If I hear otherwise, I will think differently about the situation. Second - nobody's talking about deservedness, at least not me. Third, you seem to suggest one should forget about how he died, which is something I disagree with. It's quite relevant to remember both how people lived and how they died. From what I gather, the Jackass crew 'inspired' many people to do risky stunts - which is also quite questionable a practice. "But they are not responsible for what other people do" might be your retort, but since their target audience is/was impressionable young teenagers, that argument does not hold. One has to consider the consequences of one's actions, which brings us back to the case at hand. Since the most parsimonious explanation for the news item is that a) as he was driving his own car and b) that he was likely under the influence of alcohol, knowing that it is c) illegal and d) dangerous e) even if he was "just" speeding and not drunk, I would find it hard not to conclude that his actions were irresponsible and ultimately fatal. I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of such behavior.
I do feel sorry for his relatives and friends, though.

I'm not either, however I will NOT support people bashing on somebody because they made mistakes in life, my friends and I all watched the Jackass TV show and movies as teenagers and we haven't been inspired to follow them, if people do than it's not the fault of the Jackass crew. Jackass was just stupid, I've never managed to watch more than 15 seconds.
What bothers me with people getting drunk and driving at 180km/h is not so much what they want to do with their lives, or even what risks people who are crazy enough to go in their car take, but rather the countless people who get killed because the car on the other lane was driven... by a drunk jackass.
One of my best friend lost his sister because a drunk bastard hit her car while coming back from a nightclub. The guy survived and she got killed.
It seems that they didn't kill anybody else, but really, what a fucking stupid way to die.
Sad that he died but damn anyone who gets drunk and drives deserves to die. At least they didnt kill anyone else with that accident.
Thats the guy that puts a toy car into his anus and gets an x-ray? And about Jackass i never really understood how ppl can actually pay money to watch that shit they do.
It's not just in- it's been mentioned earlier in this thread. RIP Ryan Dunn, although if it is found he was drink driving my level of caring will severely decrease
TMZ homepage is reporting him dead along with a little more info on the story.
"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn spent four hours in a Philadelphia-area bar before he got behind the wheel of his Porsche 911 this morning ... drinking at least 3 beers and 3 shots ... TMZ has learned.
Dunn arrived to a bar called Barnaby's of America in West Chester, PA around 10:30 PM ... to hang out with a small group of male friends.
One of the friends tells TMZ ... Dunn had 3 Miller Lites and 3 "girly shots" between 10:30 PM and 2:10 AM -- nearly a 4 hour span -- but he was "not too drunk to drive."
But according to another person who was inside the bar that night, Dunn was "wasted" -- and "had a lot to drink."
Under that post is a story about Johnny Knoxville tweeting he was dead, I'd conclude from all this he's actually gone
Really distasteful comments in here, please be more respectful, stop posting your moral believes in this thread, open a new thread named My Oppinion on Drunk Driving and why everyone should care about it, but dont offend us fans by insulting ryan. You dont know shit about his life, neither do I, so who are we to now judge on him?

I completely agree. When I think about people that drive drunk I think of selfish people that don't even think about the danger that they're putting everyone else out on the road in. What boggles my mind is how bars work in the first place. People generally drive there, get drunk or buzzed (the same thing) and drive home even though DUI is illegal. If I was a cop I would just sit in my car at bars all day and pull over the people leaving that are driving after drinking.
I feel bad for the passenger though, I could only imagine how upsetting it must be to lose someone close to you only because someone didn't have the wit to drive safely and have a designated driver with them. Just goes to show how fragile life is and how making stupid decisions can end your life a long with others in the blink of an eye.
Ryan seemed like one of the nicer guys of the bunch, it's a shame.
I don't care how he died, whether he was responsible for it or not. People all do stupid and selfish things. One of the nicest and gentlest guys I've ever personally met died from driving drunk behind the wheel. He was having a hard time in his life and made a dreadful mistake. It happens.

Not everyone who drinks and drives does so regularly, and certainly very few of them do it with intent of "maliciousness". As I said, some of them only do it once because they make a mistake in their lives and have a lapse of judgment....
Plus, we know the person in this case, sort of, because he was a celebrity of sorts. And... personally, I don't think he should've been killed. Seemed like a nice enough person to me. But thanks for your opinion.

I don't care how he died, whether he was responsible for it or not. People all do stupid and selfish things. One of the nicest and gentlest guys I've ever personally met died from driving drunk behind the wheel. He was having a hard time in his life and made a dreadful mistake. It happens.

I highly doubt people drink for the pure intent of drunk driving. Some people make mistakes this could have been one of them but some people are also idiots and don't take into consideration the consequences. You just don't know the situation.
Eitherway, sad to hear it happen, silly way to go and could have been a lot worse if another car was involved.
I hope the Jackass guys keep going with their movies despite this happening and have some form of memorial for him.

Not sure you understand what the word malicious means.
i prefered johnny/bam (fear of snakes ^^) then dun, but its sad to see a guy that brought forth many laughs to die even though they were brought at his dispense .

... I know plenty of people who have driven drunk at one time or another, to say that they deserve to die because they drove drunk at one point ever is just unbelievable, I don't know how to respond to this. I'm sure your parents have driven drunk at some point in their life, would you wish death upon them?
So I guess he´s not dead... imo faking someone´s death is going too far
Please read the thread, seriously this has been posted 4 times and if you had done even 2 seconds worth of research checking foxnews which is sited in the picture you'd realize it's a bad joke. Don't believe everything you see on the internet...
If someone unknown to you drove at high speeds and murdered his passenger in the ensuing crash, would you be lavishing him with praises as well? The fact that he was probably drunk makes it even worse. My heart goes out to the family of the passenger.
Very sad day i saw the pics on TMZ of the car accident you cant even tell what kinda car he was in and the car caught fire after suxs man. He was a great actor and very funny

No one knows who was driving. They don't even know who the other person is yet.

He didn't murder the passenger, the passenger forced him to drive.
See what I did there was make an assumption with no factual evidence, which is essentially what you're doing, saying he "murdered his passenger" is going way too far.

Let's see one look at TMZ and yes I do trust the reporting they do for this kinda stuff and you should too. He is dead, he had been drinking how much drinking he'd done is up for debate and he was very likely speeding according to police sources.
I didn't and do not care for him or his films but it's sad that he's dead. Also sad that someone else is dead but I feel like this is something that could of been easily fixed just by you know not speeding and perhaps if needed taking a taxi home.
Vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence: charged when a driver was DUI and drove extremely recklessly; and Vehicular manslaughter with ordinary negligence: charged when a driver was DUI and violated a traffic law, but was not extremely negligent. It can also mean that a driver failed to use reasonable care to prevent injury and/or death.
Vehicular homicide (also known as vehicular manslaughter) in most states in the United States, is a crime. In general, it involves death that results from the negligent operation of a vehicle, or more so a result from driving while committing an unlawful act that does not amount to a felony. In the Model Penal Code there is no separate category of vehicular homicide, and vehicular homicides that involve negligence. Both are included in the overall category of negligent homicide

homicide=murder.
All murders are homicides, but not all homicides are murders. Murder required malice aforethought.

Brevity is not the soul of wit as much as it's the soul of condescension and skirting conversations you wish you hadn't started.

The emphasize here is on negligent homicide, which is not the same as murder. murder involves planning, a motivation or a gain of some kind, while negligent means you were responsible for someone and made a mistake that lead to the other persons death, like say, when you drive a car and your passengers health depends on your awareness. Im not a specialist in US Law of course, but its basically the same in German Law where there are much higher penalties on Mord/Murder than on fahrlaessige Toetung which would be equivalent to negligent homicide.
There are certainly more harsh punishments for premeditated murder. You are right , i shouldn't use the words murder and homicde interchangeably. Murder implies intent and i highly doubt Mr. Dunn intended for this to happen. I'll use killed from now on.

Why would I waste time listing other things I think people should be killed for in this thread? Not really on topic or relevant if you ask me.
Drunk driving isn't considered a mistake until someone dies by most of the population. That is a problem.

Look at this part of your post. That's exactly what it is, there's no need to crucify him.

You're right, we should save some wood and nails and just shoot him.
I would bet my house that Dunn's blood alcohol was way above legal limit. It's a tragic event (I've been touched by it in my own life) but drunk driving related deaths always leave me cold. He made a number of poor decisions last night and it cost him, and his friend, their lives. Just a miserable, petty waste of life.
Wow... this really sucks.. He was one of my favorite characters since the Jackass TV show first started airing. I bet Bam is crushed atm. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.
I was quite shocked to awake to this thread reporting Dunn's death. Just this morning at 1am, I was watching the documentary included in Jackass 3.5 detailing the creation of Jackass while waiting for Dreamhack day 3 to start. Dunn was so young in that footage, diving into that septic pool . I liked him a lot and consider him my favourite Jackass crew member. Goodnight Sweet Prince.
Ryan was easily one of my favorite jackasses. He will be forever missed. Definitely one of the top personalities that made me love everything they did.
Shocked to hear the way he was identified was by tattoos and his teeth. The burns on his body were just that bad. I'd like to say he didnt suffer and was killed instantly, but you never know with burns; I hope it was quick and the burns were post mortem. He entertained millions and will be missed by millions. Cannot believe that photoshop.

the passanger?
Can people stop saying that he was responsible for the passengers death aswell?
I'm quite certain the passenger KNEW that he was drunk, and was probably drunk too. (Otherwise he would have driven the car, most likely.)
If you don't stop a friend from drunk and driving, your an idiot. If you take it a step further and actually decide to ride the car that your intoxicated friend is about to drive, your even bigger of an idiot.
As I see it, he killed himself.
That said though, it's too bad it happened this way. Thoughts to their families. RIP.
