Something is up with league changes, but we don't know what specifically is the root cause. Blizzard is aware of the issue and are testing a hotfix. -- Excal_Z 6/15 This does not mean that there is a global ladder lock!! There is some bug affecting some players but it is not universal. -- Excal_Z 6/16 Might be fixed. Some of the affected players were promoted. Need more data. -- Excal_Z 6/17 |

Use search function.
I believe it is actually bugged again for the past couple days. Today I played a gold player with a high masters mmr who said that he's had a friend play on his account since yesterday...

I can say that the promotion function is bugged.. I was smurfing on a friends account in platinum.. I'm currently 38-1 on the account since i started playing.. I'm crushing through 1.4k masters still and its not promoting me.
Also, on my main account, I just played a platinum with the MMR of #1 masters.. he's been playing the top 10 masters for a while now.
So... yes i'm gonna say the ladder is bugged, but if i ever get promoted with the platinum account I'll update this post

As the ladder is indeed bugged at the moment, I would recommend gathering some updated news before quickly categorizing all promotion questions under the same noob umbrella

you have to play enough to go around 50% so its stable. Your win% is too high currently?

You will need to win a game. But you can be promoted even now, as the leagues aren't locked, you just need to avoid the bug. Some players are being promoted right now normally and I have no idea if someone is likelly to be bugged or not, but you can keep trying, it is not impossible to be promoted right now, but yes, there is a bug making it impossible to most players for some reason.

This is incorrect. How did pillage get #1 gm with 69-0?
Also how did anonymous (MVP) get so high in masters with a 97% winrate?
|
Listen guys. All of the people saying that the leagues are bugged atm state the same thing: Huge number of wins to few (no) loses. To be promoted the system needs to be confident about you. I would recommend that you seriously check the thread I linked. You would stop saying that they are bugged.

I'm pretty sure its bugged again, a friend of mine was #1 Gold and went on a 26 game win streak eventually facing #1 diamond/low masters players and still not getting promoted
Meanwhile my roommate who is #2 diamond has been tearing it up and still no sign of promotion whatsoever.
I don't know whats upw ith the ladder but it worked fine for a full year I don't see why it keeps getting bugged now..

Because when it comes to GM, the system will select people who are eligible to be promoted to it and then those guys will need to win one more game in order to be promoted to GM. GM is the big weird league in SC2 mate.

My recent 2v2 promotion to Masters came after 3 loses and a win. You might have to lose some...
|
So what, to get promoted I need to be playing players of the same level where i start to win/lose on a 50/50 rate... What's the point of that. I should just be able to get promoted to all the leagues that I'm winning against.
|
The ladder is pretty much always bugged. I was in bronze with a 300% win streak and got into silver. Then i had 200% win streak(pretty bad huh) and i was very active. After a long time of cheesing just to get my win rate up to a mere 500%, I got into Gold.
Ladder is really messed up dude, just play custom melee's with people online

There have been posts on the battle.net forum for a couple weeks now with people having all kinds of win/loss ratios, but consistently performing well and not being promoted.
Someone also mentioned on FXOSheth's stream last night that the ladder definitely feels bugged.(Spanishwa maybe?)

So tired of topics like this.

don't listen to the idiots claiming that you HAVE to have a 50% winrate to be promoted. Please use your common sense!

Dude, calm down. No need for insults...
Read the thread I linked and you will see why your statement is mostly wrong

I think this is true. Check CoLdrewbie. He is still in platinum but has played 3 GM players and about 5-7 high masters players and won every game, yet still is platinum
