Then pages of QQ and no real solid statements are made. Just poor arguments on either side.
It is important to consider the race as a whole and not to think of a certain ability defining a race. For instance:
Nerfing Psi Storm will not affect Protoss's current problem. Psi Storm's imbalance (if you can call it that) is a late-game abusive tactic that is hard for players to manage.
Nerfing it will only change that particular portion of the game. However, for all the Protoss players who have been losing, or have been seeing the Pro Protosses losing... do you really see Psi Storm as being the fundamental mechanic you are needing most to survive?
Having been a Diamond Protoss player who switched to being a Diamond Zerg (after the roach patch lolololol), I definitely can agree from both sides of the matchup that:
A) As a Protoss player with 8 Warpgates and 3 bases and 20 minutes into the game with Amulet Templars, I feel truly invincible. While other races are struggling with mobility and harass, you can shutdown most any push warping in 2 templars, storming, and waiting for your 1a2a3a army to arrive back into position.
B) As a Zerg player, I feel the frustration of showing up at an unguarded expansion with ~20 Hydralisks, and knowing full well when I push into it, there's going to be Psionic DEATH waiting for me.
C) I cannot speak of Terran's frustration too much, but from what I've seen, they are suffering just as much.
Now, that being said, what are you ACTUALLY SAYING?
I'm saying that Protoss' problem stems not from their late game, but from their early transition into midgame. I'm saying that people countering "Psi Storm needs to be nerfed" with "BUT PROTOSS IS DOING SO POORLY" is a completely disregardable counter with no substance.
In no way am I really sure if Psi Storm needs to be balanced, it's just a huge misconception that has been frustrating me for days when the argument INEVITABLY COMES UP in any thread regarding the current state of Protoss.
