I had the pleasure to interview TLO about his switch to zerg, thoughts on the new patch and about his life in South Korea.
Here are the first three questions of the interview:
Question: Hello, how are you Dario? Dario: Hello Ludvig, I'm doing great thanks for asking. I Just finished my daily in-house ranking games and it went great.
Could you tell us a little bit more about your day? How much do you play, who do you play with and what do you do on your free time? I try to get up around 7 to 9 am. Unlike most people in the house who get up at 11:30 and stay up really late, I wake up early so that I can have some more time for myself and do some sports. I play like 4-8 hours a day depending on what is going on event wise at the moment and my mood.
I mostly practice with everybody in oGs - the korean team I live with and my Teamliquid teammates. Right now there are only two besides me but we are getting two more people in here in about a week, Huk and Ret.
In my free time, I spend a lot of time talking to my friends at home, reading and mostly relaxing and getting off the whole gaming. Sometimes you just need to get away from the PC.
That sounds great, though I am curious if you play much with "The genius Terran" Nada who is on the oGs team? I definitely play him on a regular basis, but he is not living with us in the same house. I am not really allowed to release any practise games, as obviously nobody wants to reveal strategies.
To read more you should visit our gaming blog HERE
I made the interview in both swedish and english language. To read the swedish translated interview you need to scroll down.
Me and my friend Eric have started a new gaming blog for my local newspaper. In the blog we review games, covering events (for example Dreamhack) and interview professional gamers. This interview is our first content and i can promise that more interviews with professional Starcraft 2 players will come.

How do you like South Korea so far? What has been good or bad? I definitely love the food and that everyone are always super friendly, when I was in the US a few days ago I was actually almost shocked about the western way. I was a little bit spoiled by korean manners I guess. No, no TLO, expecting manners is hardly being "spoiled" by the Koreans.

Yeah, pretty obvious based on the recent raceswitch ( he may of practiced the month before, but much less than terran.) What is more surprising to me is the fact that Jinro is on the A-team. I mean, I don't mean to be rude, but he really hasn't been doing that well in the GSL as of late.

Thank you! Great interview.

TLO is awesome

Good interview, I think this MLG will really show how much TLO has improved.

Gonna be really interesting seeing how all the TL Zergs end up playing, can't wait for GSL3!

There is nothing I could add that hasn't already been told by TLO's face. ^^

Well there is both some randomness in the qualifiers and he might have had some nerves get to him. I'm very happy that Jinro is experiencing some succes. Would be though to travel across the world without achieving anything.

Where are the zerg jokes when you need them.

- Dario thank you very much for the interview, any last shout-outs to your fans? - Please go batshit crazy at every event you attend to. We need Korean crowd standards in Europe!
You heard the man!

Gj TLO, she a fine one!

MLG Dallas is going to be too much to handle really.. team liquid representing in full force, Idra and rest of EG, Root, fnatic with sen, white-ra (?)
SICKNESSSS

Im glad to hear that TLO actually tries to do something other than practice all day. I wanna hear more about the korean lifestyle though hahaha
|
I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that that picture is going to be reposted a rather large number of times in this thread.
Nice interview. Loved the Octopus story.
|
I'll see you in dallas TLO, hopefully I get a chance to say hi.
|
Haha... very excited for Dallas. Good luck TLO. Sorry to hear that you're on the B-team. Very curious about how the training regime is like, but I know that OGS and teamliquid probably have to be very quite about how they train.
As for the comment about Jinro being on the a-team, you guys should check out the replay pack. Jinro faces someone on the werra for some very interesting games.

That "girl" looks old. TLO must have a fetish for cougars!

Zerg players gets all the Ladies. Damnit! >____>

lol how did jinro manage to get on A team? If I remember right he was the biggest underachiever on the Liquid team.
|
Nice interview but its a bit misleading to say that the prize for GSL is 177, 000 dollars, maybe add in brackets 87k ( i think) american dollars.
|
Titties! I like I like
Ohh I just notice the interview.. yeah gj

Please don't hesitate in approaching any of our players. They are all very happy to receive your support.

Jinro was the least achieved player on Team Liquid, but I guess that helped motivate him. I think we can expect great results from him soon or at least make the foreign community proud.
|
Teamliquid is the hope of all non korean players. Good luck guys

Jinro was also the highest rated TLer on the last korean top 200 iirc.
|
good interview!! best of luck TLO!!dont disappoint the fans!!
|
Do you have a set date for how long you will stay in South Korea? I can stay 7 more months or even longer, but I could also leave earlier if I want to.
TLO doesn't currently plan on staying in Korea permanently?

Someone is going to underachieve even more?? O.O
No seriously, Blobskillz, besides GSL Jinro has shown a lot of the good stuff.
|
Rather disappointed in TLO, loved seeing him play as Terran. But hey, it's his choices and I hope he gets his skills up to par soon.
|
Glad to hear Jinro is doing well. I was a bit concerned he'd be discouraged after going to korea and not yet qualifying for a gsl
|
Great interview, thanks a lot!
|
Awesome pic^^. TLO is the only pro i can image looking that chilled while a chick touches his mouse. i mean, imagine Idra there.
|
Great interview, thanks for that!
I like the smirk tlo has when he's with the fangirl ^^

I heard somewhere that Jinro won 2 games for oGs in a team league a few days back so he's obviously good if the Koreans would let him play.

Jinro is a boss. It's not easy moving to the other side of the globe and instantly competing at your highest level. Jinro is easily better than many of the Ts we see in GSL Ro64, a lot of it is down to brackets.
|
Great interview, I can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve for Zerg. It's also good to hear Jinro is kicking ass and taking names.

Obviously it depends on how well he does. I believe he was planning on taking a year off from university to take his chances in Korea. If he is still enjoying himself and feels as if hes successful enough he will stay. If not he goes back home, competes in foreigner tournaments, and goes to school.
|
Great to hear all of TL is doing well. Super happy that Jinro is doing well too. Must be tough when you work just as hard as everyone else and don't seem to get results, or no one is recognising you for your achievements.
I would really like to learn more about the day in the life of a pro gamer and how the TLers communicate with the oGsers etc. Korean food interests me a lot too. I remember TLO saying they have great meat dishes in the episode of state of the game that he appeared on. It has inspired me to visit the only Korean restaurant in my town!
|
I would have thought he'd be doing more than 4-8 hours a day of practice.. if that means he averages 6 hours a day, don't the Koreans practice much more than that?
|
Is that TLO's girlfriend?

TLO always struck me as one of the more mature and level-headed pro's out there. He's going to have a long career (hopefully).

It's not exactly going well so far is it? His performance in GSL isn't good and his overall results are even worse. He'll turn it around though I'm sure.
|
wow... this picture makes me want to become a progamer! this lucky bastard... haha
|
Oh, Loui, you crafty bastard. Nice interview, though
Love you, bro!

That picture is from the TL party at Blizzcon. That girl sucked ass and couldn't even build a pylon. She is dating some dude that plays a minor character on Dexter. The other girl she played was actually hotter IMO and she actually knew how to play.

So you're saying him beating thousands of other players and actually qualifying for the GSL isn't doing well? He's doing really well out there right now.
|
why is tlo on the b-team? because he switched to zerg? his performance in the gsl would make you think that he would be on the a-team.
