reach out and touch LA! too many east coast events!
|
Looking forward to the event as a spectator to the streams.
I wonder how long it will take before someone makes fun of the name of the congress centre... (no this didn't count)
|
Also, if anybody can sticky this, that would be great <3

We are going to Dallas in November. That is about as far west as we have gone for 2010. However, keep an eye out for west coast events in 2011.

could mlg advertise team battles for sc2 or even game battles in general? i feel as though it is lacking luster although i make the effort to find opponents
|
Have the invitation spots already been filled? Is there a list of who those are? I can't get to the Circuit info pages on mlgpro.com, anyone else having this problem?
|
How many slots and whats the prize pool? Same as Raleigh?

Please stay tuned.

There are 16 invites. There is not a list of invites yet.
And yes, the Pro Circuit section of MLG is currently down, but it should be back up soon.
On September 14 2010 23:05 DarkspearTribe wrote: How many slots and whats the prize pool? Same as Raleigh? 32 passes will be sold to the public. The top 16 players from Raleigh have a reserved pass they can purchase, and there are 16 players from invitations. So the total bracket size will be 64.
The prize pool will be the same as Raleigh.

Do you know yet what time check-in and the SC2 event starts, and when the finals are? Will it be like last time where the SC2 event lasts from friday night through saturday midday?
|
Deimos,
Are there matches and important stuff on that friday? I would love to attend and play in the SC2 event but I cannot get out of work for Friday. I don't want to buy a pass and then have to just forfeit out. What is the schedule of events?

I travel a lot, and the Gaylord Hotels (been to Orlando and Nashville), are awesome. I always tell all my friends and family that it is the best hotel I have ever been too.

I am sure the name Gaylord was established before the term Gay became popular as a derogatory word

fair enough. I'm from the UK so we have different big hotel chains.

Thanks for the quick response! Not to sound like I'm putting pressure on you, but do you know approx when we'll know that, as in like within a couple days or a week or longer? I'm just trying to setup travel arrangements for my players and the prices seem to go up every day.

Expect tournament play to start on Friday at 5:30 PM EST.
If you do your travel arrangements off of that, you should be fine.
Before you organize travel for players though, I'd wait to make sure they get a pass.

Thanks for the info! Is it safe to assume play will continue saturday morning, or is there a chance that it might wait until Sunday? One night in the hotel is a heck of a lot cheaper then two!
And thanks for the tip, however it does help when one of them has a reserved spot.

probably nobody coz they will be seeded this time around

Well, like probably ~200 or so others, I'll be spamming up F5, I know there are at least 20 people who I meet up with each weekend that will be doing the same, and thats just us not including the tons of people that are going to be traveling to DC from up in NJ/NY/Philly, or all over the midwest and shit.
Too bad this tournament isn't 128, it'd fill out instantly,.

yep it was 100% something they were stopping people from doing. If you made it out with reps you were breaking the rules. Something a contracted EG member/community figure could not get away with.
I hope to have a long and successful relationship with MLG but if they give false promises about tourney content that REALLY matters to us (the players) I will see what I can do in the future

I understand you guys planned on releasing vods but it has been nearly a month. Can we please get the replays from the event so we can enjoy our work? Here are some of the replays. I'm not sure if there is more to come or not. I will ask for you. http://www.mlgpro.com/content/link/312207/MLG-Raleigh-2010-Starcraft-2-Rebroadcast\
Those are the VOD's. We want our actual GAMES (physical replays). We were told that they would be available after the event.

Is there any sort of refund policy or resale policy if I end up with a ticket and find out I can't get out of work early? I won't even be able to find out if I can get out of work early until the 4th of October at the earliest.

64 person double elimination already takes a long time. I don't think they can handle much more without expanding their PC section considerably

It's 7 EST, they just went on sale/sold out

mlg really needs to have more than 32 spots. that is just incredibly rediculous when something sells out in less than a minute and when theres so many moer players that wish to play.

they sold out already rich @_@. it is 7pm est

Rich, one way or the other, I live on the East Coast (in DC, actually) and its 7 o' clock. They are sold out, rest assured. Probably someone just said EST instead of EDT or something.
Edit: When spam refreshing, the "add to cart" button appeared, where it was formerly invisible. If you made it to the end of the purchase process and were too slow about it, that's where it says "sold out."

That doesnt change the fact that it's sold out.

Sold out in under 30 seconds.. pretty ridiculous.
