Notice that #1 is ogs.fruitvender with random! #2 Fantaprime has proven to be julyzerg, #3 is makaprime. It is noticeable the difference between KR and EU/US servers, where only 1 protoss exists in KR top 10, but protoss and terran dominates EU/US ladder.
If you're going to claim that it's JulyZerg please give us a link so we can check for ourselves. And the only reason he's ranked so high is because he played a ridiculous amount of games

I hope he figures out how to muta micro in SC2 , because microing mutas now to harras is a pain in the ass compared to BW .
I wanted July to still bust some ass in BW , but i guess switching to SC2 is better then retireing , at least i will have someone to root for in SC2 proscene .
Oh god yes. One of the few names I latched on to when I first learned of the BW scene is now in SC2. Fuck. Yes. Too Bad Nal_Ra is going to the army, or I'd be hoping he did too, just so everything comes full circle. (Reach is too manly for SC2, though, so I leave him out of my personal trifecta of fanboy targets D

I think its very much possible its July, not like STX needs him for BW.
Hes retired anyway, so it makes sense?
How did you know he is retired i couldn't have missed such a big news ? I think he has the same status as Idra . He is a progamer for STX , but he plays SC2 .

as liquipedia says: "July has been off the A-team of STX SouL since 2009, and has not played a proleague game since May 2009.". And since his in Prime (which is SC2 clan?) i don't think hes in any b-team of STX.

Seems pretty much like a retirement to me, and there was speculations about it. And im talking about bw retirement, not e-sports overall.

what does having the prime clan tag have anything to do with him not being on stx? its not like they're a professional organization like stx its like putting the importance of his z-zone tag above his professional sponsorship

This thread says he is removed from the rooster in april this year . He also played offline qualifiers for OSL and MSL so he hasn't retired .
Yeah, all i knew he was removed from the A-Team. I just assumed that if he haven't been playing, he just might've retired or taking a long break. But hopely hes back now in SC2.

Yeah everyone gets that, Google has something against Korean sites lol
Ladder game is not really important for pro level gamers in korea anyway. They don't have to play on ladder to play with good players, actually just playing with their teammates sounds more efficient to improve their skill. Just notice that Tester is not on the list, who is considered to be to top player in korea.

just watched that rep that is some incredibly polished play, has to be a current gosu and i'm glad julyzerg concurs with me that getting tech advantage before eco advantage is the way to go in zvt
My favorite player in the history of BW. Seeing as he doens't make nearly as many appearances as he used to, it would be great to see him dominate SC2.
July won an OSL 2 years ago. He's not THAT old school ffs. He's proven himself to be one of the best Bo5 players in the game.
Cool randoms on the ladder a bunch; he was playing "random" in early May, definitely. He just picks Zerg for tournaments.
Anyhow, it's not surprising that JulyZerg would top the ladder after only playing apparently a few weeks. How is UpMagic and Sangho doing? I know UpMagic probably won't be able to compete in the GSL, but Sangho is probably pretty psyched for it, right?
Also, I loled a bit at the Chinese site being surprised that there are only two zergs in the top ten in North America, with three Protoss at the top (and Dayvie as random). In Korea, it's Protoss that's kind of the weak race, with just one slot in the top 10.
Also, it really is just Prime vs. oGs now. The top ten has 4 oGs members, 5 Prime members, and one member of the "Jung" clan.
Seem like it could definitely be July. I can't believe he lost though, he was doing very well until the Terran ditched the Thors/Blue Hellions for more Tanks and Marauders. July had stopped making banelings in favor of infestors, and never really stopped with the Roaches/Mutas.
Nice seeing no queens above 30ish energy until late game. One thing I noticed was that July didn't seem too proactive about spreading creep, and was completely comfortable fighting off it with roaches/slings/blings. He never once hit 200 supply either. Very different from Idra style play, but if someone was going to figure out how to be aggressive as Zerg in SC2 it was bound to be July.

Shark discovered it, July revolutionized it.
I find it somewhat hard to believe its July, mainly because.. wouldn't he be in oGs? Prime is old WC3 players, while oGs is old SC progamers. If it is July tho, its great to see. It gives us (the fans) an opportunity to see the older generation of players that can't really keep up anymore in action. Hope we have more concrete information soon.
It was a extreme agressive low eco build for those positions on metalo wich i found really strange. Also no scout and no zergling speed and straight roaches into t2 without expo. I dont know if i really like the build that much but he survived well vs the first metalpush, wich is good.
He would have needed burrowed infestors and prolly overlord drops vs the tankheavy pushes in lategame. Sick how he lost that game. But i think attacking the planetary was simply a mistake. He prolly needs alot more practise. IF he started to play sc2 at release that would be a big accomplishment to be already that good!
I find it comical that people give Julyzerg props for playing just afew weeks with a horrible record, yet when MaDFRoG only started since phase 2 beta and has a GOOD record and top 10, he gets bashed?
sure, EU may be easier than KR, but considering Madfrog is dominating pretty hard on the ladder in just afew weeks, yet people still consider him not "worthy" of showmatches.. its pretty pathetic.

It mainly has to do with StarCraft elitism. July was/is a BW pro and legend, so people (especially on TL) idolize him, so you're seeing a lot of his fanboys coming out (no offense guys). While MaDFroG on the other hand, played BW and transitioned to WC3 and was a top player in WC3 for a few years before he retired and essentially disappeared for a number of years. Those who played/followed WC3 know who he is and have a similar level of respect, but in most cases (esp. on TL) WC3 is seen as an inferior RTS in comparison to BW. Thus, those who don't recognize WC3, don't recognize MaDFroG.

He laddered under the name "Limper" in beta on the Korean server. Presumably, he's laddering on a different name than IdrA still, though not "Limper". I'd guess he's "Flutter", the current #25 on Korea.

IdrA isn't on the Korean top ten list. He is on the North American top ten list, though.
Have Idra said why he is currently laddering on US rather the Korean one?
Korean one is too hard for him. That or he wants to beat his rivals, play american tournaments, etc.
On topic, I hope we see alot from July, Hope Korea does alot more tournaments!!
Isn't it obvious he has access to both servers? Just look at the number of games he has played on the US server, it's under 200. He is just smurfing on the Korean server for a reason or another, we need an SC2 Romad here to find out his aka. imo.
July is probably one of the first in the wave of ex-progamers and B-teamers to start turning towards the new game. GSL is rivaling the bw tournaments pretty hard when it comes to prize money and how much comparatively easier it is to win a GSL than an OSL.

Nonetheless #1 as random is impressive.
He might just play random to get better. Naturally you get better with your own race the more you understand the other two. I'd bet he'll play his standard race when he plays tournaments.

Because someone got in touch with a Prime coach and he said it was, hardly 100% fact but its not that unlikely to be fair.
Will we really see the "pro" players in NA and Europe get owned by the likes of JulyZerg? Will we finally see all the WC3 "pros" get owned to oblivion? This is madness. This is July.

Beautiful Zerg play with taking complete map control and taking every other base on the map, then Terran got bored and selected his units and moved them out, they just rolled over the Zerg.
Its yoon yeol not jun. And I wonder why July would join prime instead of oGs. They have the majority of strong players in sc2 and july would be a great asset.
