Hey everyone,
Sorry for the excess of threads - this is the last, and it is very simple. Recently, I realized all my criticism goes for playing zerg being underpowered. What would be interesting to me is a poll of what race you played MOST often when the beta was up. Please answer truthfully!

I started with toss since they have cool stuff and when I started playing they hadnt even nerfed the immortal build timing. Now I play Zerg, just sort of happened.

Started Terran, got bored and didn't play for a while. Switched to Zerg and REALLY enjoyed it, kept it.

idk about the others but I play the race I find the most appealing visually
for me, protoss; I do like the look of some of the zerg's units though, like the cute little banelings or the infestors, so zerg is my 2nd : )
also idk abotu zerg being underpowered, go easy on those QQs or people might nerdrage XD

Started with Random and now play Zerg in 1v1 and either Zerg or Protoss in team games (I wish I could Random without Terran being an option...).

Protoss during Beta. Going to play Zerg second phase or launch. Then Terran after, then hopefully be a decent random player :/

I've been random all throughout beta, but I just don't play enough to keep up with all the match ups. Think when it starts up again I'll have decided which mirror I hate the least and pick the race based on that =)

I like terran the most but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed because during development it was seeming like Blizzard had hopes to make both mech and Bio viable in all matchups. but against protoss mech is almost impossible, so much worse than in broodwar. Infantry against protoss just feels wrong to me. Overall though terran has a lot of cool features to them that award creative as well as a "passive aggressive" playstyle in most matchups. TvP feels off though.

I play random.
I do this to get a feeling for every race, especially in terms of timing.
When you want to beat an opponent with a certain race you have to play it for yourself, thats my philosophy atm.
I'll pick my favourite later.

terran, because zerg/toss is boring in sc2. terran is still kinda boring, but more fun than the other two.

Started with Random then started playing Protoss full-time because I played primarily Toss in SC/BW. Didn't really like/get bored of the Protoss SC2 playstyle (I wanna play a more Macro toss, but I found you often have to rely on very aggressive 1 base play) and switched back to Random. Was considering switching to Terran after that, but I didn't like how ridiculously OP Terran Mech was at the time, and I didn't like how TvT was playing out at the time (Tanks+Vikings). Was considering switching back to Protoss full-time, but the reasons why I switched from Protoss in the first place still lingered so I switched to Zerg full-time. Ironically I played Zerg first in BW, when I didn't have a strong foundational understanding and used to lurker drop almost EVERY game, before I started playing for reals with Protoss.

Protoss / Random -- I'm really happy at the poll seems really close so far. I enjoy that there are equal representation of all races, BUT I never see any high level diamond zerg (750++)! Where are you guys!? I understand ladder is kind of overrated but you do want your icons right?

Terran.
I originally played Toss in Brood War and planned on it in SC2, but then toss early on in SC2 alpha was still pretty much the same, just stalkers instead of goons, but Terran was really different. I really like BW m&m, so was looking forward to terran bio in SC2. Plus Reapers were EPIC, especially with those bomb things or whatever. Battle Report 2 roach boom boom anyone?

I always find it amazing how these polls eventually equalize at 30%, 30%, 30%, 10%.

This is very even! Almost 30% in each race.
None other RTS can achieve this kind of balance race distribution.
But I guess more people will use protoss in the release, they are more noob friendly. (Noob = who do not know how to wall off as human.)

Wow, a poll where my vote actually made a difference O.o. I play toss. From BW, where I played toss exclusively. Now I dabble a bit in zerg, but can't stand terran. Oh my god, I hate terran. Hate playing it, hate playing against it.

Zerg. I originally went with them because people said they were underpowered. Guess I proved em all wrong.
Not sure why I stuck with zerg. I think I just liked the vibe.
But I started playing random later on -- occasionally picking terran or zerg.

Wow! equal at 172 votes! Great outcome! I'm surprised there are as many randoms as there are, because I rarely find them in the gold/platinum league.

I've been switching around every patch, but now I'm pretty settled on Zerg.

Terran, I dabbled a bit in zerg/toss (got into plat on each back when it was the highest division), but never near as much as terran.
I didn't really play sc1 in any kind of competitive fashion (I was like 12 or something when it came out). I did play warcraft 3 ladder quite extensively for the first year or so (i was like 16). Later I also went back to war3 for the expo for a good year. I kept giving up RTS in favor of MMORPG (EQ and WoW) but I grew increasingly more disgusted by the way time-investment/luck would factor over skill in the competitive scene. While I generally favor an "anti-cry" stance on balance changes ect. it was just stupid how many balance changes were going on all the time in WoW, basically the game was different every 2 months to keep up with the catass raid guilds.
I got into sc2 through a WoW contact, haven't looked back since. I had been looking for a reason to quit WoW anyway, but it there wasn't any RTS that seemed playable (BW battle.net seems dead).
When I was first thinking about what race to pick, I remembered some old boxer replays I saw back when I was playing WC3 (I was visting TillerMaN's guild site, which had a whole boxer replay section).
The way he microed drops just made Terran seem like such a cool race if mastered. I kind of thought Terran would be a harassment/micro oriented race. And if there's one thing I love its harassment.
That being said, T doesn't seem to actually have the monopoly on harassment, its more of the turtle race. But I've gotten rather accustomed to their "style" now, and I'm not regretting my decision.
That being said, I cant help but thing "god damn it" when my thors slowly move to the opposite side of my base to deal with mutas, or I have to constantly micro vs blink stalker/VR destroying my base. I guess its karma.

Terran for life. Not that I actually like humans, the game play experience is best.

I played mainly Protoss since I was maining Protoss in SC. Once the full game comes out, I will play the other 2 races more extensively.

Protoss. Been playing them since 1999, so I says why stop now.
Dabbled in the other races towards the end of the beta, but 90% of my games were with protoys.
Wow, seems like the race selection for TL is pretty even.

Pretty impressive that Blizz manages to create 3 equally attractive races, and even through that, they keep them all pretty balanced...

This is why I don't trust these poll because alot of people don't vote honestly but rather for some other reason since they can see the results so far.

I started off with zerg. Which I did quite well with actually (I used only z in bw). But I love the mechanics of the other two races, so I decided even though my play is poor with the other two races I will play as random!

Is there a way to not show results until I close the poll? If there isn't TL should consider adding this because it would make it very legitimate. Still pretty accurate,

I too am surprised how equal the distribution is, freaky. I play terran, have since I first started playing the beta. I played Zerg in BW, and i had always intended on switching to zerg eventually, but I ended up having so much fun with terran I felt little reason to switch. Especially considering all the crying over how boring zerg is.
When the game goes live I intend on playing with toss and zerg in 2v2's and 3v3's but will most probably stick with Terran for ladder.

I played random, and I intend to play random when the beta comes back. I played Protoss in BW, and had started feeling like it was probably my strongest in SC2, as well, but I found the Terran matchups and, especially, ZvZ (mainly because I was constantly trying to hammer out a good FE build, and then every time I was getting to a place where I felt really good with it, a patch would come that changed the fundamentals of the MU [or the beta would end]) so interesting that I couldn't just go full-time protoss and feel good about it.
Plus, owning Void Rays TvP was so rewarding. I hardly make those things early game because I always found them easy to counter. :/ Well, "easy" might be an exaggeration, but still.

I play Terran because whats more bad ass then a line of siege tanks taking out everything that comes within range? Giant mechs? Yes please.
