Statements like this make my blood boil. I won't make any statements about their relative skill levels (just that they're both playing well), but I'll just say I'll be an EffOrt fanboy and a Calm hater till I die.

Effort should have realized that Calm would use 9 pool builds. Because 9 pool is a staple of Poor Zerg players. But that's also why JD is going to obliterate Calm; JD almost never loses to 9 pool. I don't mean "almost never" as in "JD almost never loses to Zerg," but as in "JD is exceptionally good at countering 9 pool Zerg even compared to other ZvZ builds." I simply cannot forsee any result other than a 3:0 victory for JD.

His play has been top class right now. Sure, he's falling off of his "nobody beats him" edge, but he's still destroying 90% of the field. Calm exploited a BO flaw in EffOrt's plan (12 hatch is EffOrt's hubris) - props to him, but it's not anything that anyone couldn't really do. Iris, as much as he is my favorite player, really lucked on two factors: 1) He plays exceptionally versus his teammates in individual leagues and 2) EffOrt had so much on his plate at that point in time.

A guy loses against pretty hard opponents and all of a sudden he's not S-Class anymore. EVERYONE has a week where they just lose for the love of god.

The only players I would say with complete confidence are S-Class these days, would be Bisu and Jaedong. Maybe Fantasy as well, to round out the races. Calm/Effort/Flash are obvious candidates for S-Class (Flash certainly used to be), but not fully convincing at present.

Hes really very aggressive but he does it in a strategical and intelligent manner.Um, Calm is hot right now, but he isn't "better" than Effort. Effort didn't play smart against Calm. Calm is... calling him an Aggressive Zerg is wrong, IMO, since Calm takes u all the way back to the era of Poor Zerg players like JinName. Basically, I view Calm as a Poor Zerg with modern strategy and mechanics. The key difference is that an Aggressive Zerg still needs to beat a Terran or Protoss opponent in econ in order to win, but a Poor Zerg says "fuck econ" and will play with such a hyper aggressive style that they are often behind a Terran or Protoss opponent in econ (and yet still can win).
