Jaedong > Effort I think Jaedong will win, but Effort seems to have stolen Jaedong's 'Untouchable' aura. Still...I have to go with Jaedong.
type-b < Stork Stork has been looking shaky as of late, but Heartbreak is slightly biased for Protoss and I believe that Stork still has some magic left in him.
Bisu > go.go. Meh...Bisu wins.
Kwanro < Canata I can't really say much about these two as I have not been following them, but I'm just saying Canata just because...
No idea... but the show usually features a whole host of games from a particular player (e.g. boxer) and only that player for the whole week. I'll let you know what games when it comes up.

This day should have some interesting matches. Jaedong must have already evolved into "Angry Jaedong" due to his loss to Movie in the MSL and the fact Effort stole a game from him in PL. Bottom line is, Jaedong will rape.
I see a lot of people bitching that Stork's PvZ is bad and although he's not even near Bisu's level of play and inconsistent as hell, he's still not a push-over for someone like type-b.
Bisu still has one of the scariest PvT's around, even if he plays more PvP/PvZ during proleague. Besides, go.go isn't exactly solid in TvP, as TvT/TvZ are his best match-ups. Not to talk about the fact this is an S-class protoss vs a sometimes decent terran clash. Bisu should take this pretty easy.
Canata has been so inconsitent, it's hard to even try to predict what he's going to do when he plays. If he's in a good day he can steal a game from Jaedong and if he's in a bad he could lose his entire bio army to mutas. I just flipped a coin for this game and got Canata, so don't argue.

This is all pretty right on, 99% go.go will cheese though and Bisu has not seemed very flexible lately.

JD with a slight Drone advantage due to going Overpool. Effort with faster lings, morphing 6. JD techs to Lair immediately. Scouting OL sees the lings move out. Effort to Lair too now, sends out 6 lings.
JD retreating his OL by now. JD slips out a Zergling with barely 10 HP. Still ling battle at the natural, Effort trying to slip in. Battle errupts, JD comes out ahead, but 3 lings make it into the drones. Kill one- apparently that's all.
Effort's lings dead, Mutas hatch for both. Effort needs to hold his expansion now. He is hunting an overlord atm. Jaedong sending his mutas for the rescue. OL makes it away. JD countering with Mutaling. Efforts doesnt have lings atm!
If I was ever in a zvz game and my opponent started microing like jaedong, I would instantly leave, fearing that staying in the game too long would make my head expload in a bloody mess all over my room.
oh man i catched the game near the end and didn't know who was who, but when i saw the muta battle i thought, "teal has to be jaedong, insane micro", and right i was
Yeah, I hope Effort still advances from group though!
it all depends on jaedong vs flash and yellow vs flash and effort vs flash but he still got a good chance he just needs to win vs flash who is def not slumping

JD got stones.
IMO effOrt picking flash was more stonesy, maybe even by.hero picking Leta, but it certainly does not completely overshadow JD's balsiness.

Spire begun for Typeb. Stork adds 2nd cannons for security. Tyoeb runs in with lings, might go for a runby? But decides to stay out still, and now Stork is safely blocked. +1 Attack started for Stork. 2nd gate and templar archives coming.
Sloppy Dragoon gets caught by Lings. Scourge chasing the corsair. Dual DT out and lings retreat home. typeb with good sim city setups everywhere - DTs wont do much here.
Stork has switched to Templs entirely now, Upgrading Cycore too, so either weapons or goon range. Loses his last corsair. Typeb pushing out with lurkerling. Stork looking to do a Goon / Temp attack as it seems.
Stork moves out with timing. LONG line of lings heading for the counter. Mutas sniping templars. Get 2 but catch a nasty storm there. His important unit it the Zergling here.
Stork moving in with +2 attack! Until 2 carapace, he has a good attack.
typeb sniping a templar here and there still. Stork really needs to do damage now, defiler mound is almost done and lings will have the crack upgrade by now. Stork slowly pushing over his side and taking third.
COUNTER ATTACK! Some Mutas and Lingfs into the natural, but Stork holds it easily.
Corsairs scout bottom right. Type fortifying it with sunkens. Stork adding more archons. 3rd attack upgrade done. Defiler tech is there, so we'll see swarm soon.
Stork still cutting down the Zerg with Storms in the middle. DT drop killed by now. Bottom right running, first Ultras hatch. Stork needs to get some harassment in imo, that Zerg economy is running too flawlessly. 6 Taken by Type too. Stormdrop, but gets only 1 Drone. Drop into STorks main.
Like 180/80 supply for typeb atm. But he has more units on the field. Huge force of Ultraling goes for that base at 12 for storm. STorm and DTs can save him now, nothing else.
Exccuse me, 5 Reavers in tota, as 12 has a RObotics too. Type b at 200/200 almost. Stork has a probe top left, but cannot take it yet. Many more hydras added for typeb, but of
HUGE BATTLE, NO IDEA. STORK LOOKING GOOD? OR NOT??
STORM SCARAB SWARM HUGE MESS. Looks good for type now.
Hahahahahaha how many more exhibits need to be added to the "Stork's PvZ is not good" museum before everyone realizes that Stork's PvZ has never, ever been good. It's been serviceable, and he's won a lot of games with it, but it has never, ever, been good.
Zearg units streaming into Stork's main base. Type reinforcing with Hydralurk and already back at 150 supply. Stork abrely above 80. Type taking the middle.
That was the most Zerg units I have ever seen. Type-b out maneuvered and encircled the ultimate protoss ball right at Stork's natural choke, amazing, one of the best tactical plays I have ever seen.
On June 24 2009 19:32 astalkulo wrote: I didnt get to see very well but was that just 5 gateways in stork base?
Yes, Stork barely had any probes at all from all the maynarding and type-bs attacks, infact typeb mined out 2 bases faster than stork. TypeB had better saturation as Z which is something that should not happen at all.
Oh man, Stork has really gotta hope that type-b doesn't beat Backho now because I just don't see him beating Fantasy (even Backho is not a guaranteed win) right now.
I'd actually prefer Stork advance - I always prefer Stork advance until the finals =)
type-b really did some good job there......losing a whole lot of overlords, beating DA/reaver/temp, and winning on HeartBreak Ridge against not only any protoss, but Stork, damn nice...

If this keeps, any protoss who might've been better than him won't be in as many leagues as him! (Bisu showing up poorly in tourneys and isn't in GOM :X)
Bisu seemed to be very overconfident with his build. Going fast DT against siege expo seems like a good idea, but most terrans know to build a faster academy or ebay at least.

As much as I like Violet and dislike Bisu, this just isn't true. Take a look at Violet's ELO. I know ELO isn't everything but when you go on a massive winning streak like that and your ELO is still THAT low, it says something about the overall quality of your opponents (though of course he's beaten some big names).
Also, Violet's ELO versus T is BELOW 2000. This isn't really his fault since he's been playing PvP and PvZ entirely, but don't we have to at least see his PvT before we can start putting him in the upper echelon?

Umm, Violet had the 2nd lowest ELO before he exploded suddenly and went on his streak. Bisu IS still the best P of all time and best toss right now, everyone goes on streaks. Wait till Violet performs in indivduals before calling him the best of the best. PL just isnt enough.
At least Bisu hasnt have to play all his games in the group in one day. I have zero doubt if it was the case he would be already out of the tournament just like last MSL. Get yourself together man and win it all this season <3

Yeah, this I do agree! I almost regret bringing ELO into the discussion because anyone who has watched Violet play (and I've seen almost all of his games lately) can tell you that he has been playing extremely solid Starcraft. He's been doing everything a good Protoss player should be good at in PvZ and PvP - I wish we could see some PvT which in some ways is the "most different" of the three PvX matchups.
CJ has had both Savior and Kwanro prepare for ZvT against Canata over the past couple of weeks. Given how good CJ usually is at this kind of preparation, I'd say Kwanro has a good chance. However, given how Kwanro's game plan usually goes something like "make some units, attack, repeat" (just kidding, sorta), we'll see!
Bisu definitely had that coming with his pick and subsequent lame build order strategy. I was calling it in my head that he would try some type of semi-cheese and go.go could win by going with his traditional timing attack anti-toss. Glad that's how it went down. Maybe Bisu will start to play like an ace player instead of playing like Movie and relying on foolishness when he's so much better than that.

Ah I see...that would almost make vult hopping harder too yea?
I dont think it will effect tvz much. I think that was more for zvp.
Group C is now WIDE OPEN. There's a decent chance go.go ends up going 1-2 (especially if the corpse formerly known as Zero decides to wake back up as a good SC player). I see this group going down as 2-1, 2-1, 1-2, 1-2, question is just who goes where?
Kwanro's lurkers were unexplainably late. They were supposed to be as close as possible to the nat, spread out, so canata couldnt easily move out before vessels. The fact that he could was a mistake. If you cant force the t to wait for vessels, it's too easy for them to move out way before your darkswarm is done.
That build from Kwanrow was all kinds of silly. "I'm just going to take 4 bases and not send out any units at all until after I have defilers on a map where Terrans have a super easy 2 base."

It was totally justified. Honestly if you get the chance to BM Bisu as a B tier player, you should probably do it because he'll BM you given the chance - or in this case, he already did. It's not like you're really inviting anything on yourself at that point.

Type-b played an absolutely impressive match, literally no mistakes (except for the failed drop which he couldnt really predict anyway), but stork was behind all game with one small window of opportunity that he did not take advantage of. Bisu, though I dont agree with his build choice (I would argue that a DT drop could have won him the game, since go.go didnt get scans till after turrets, and he only placed a turret in the front before making the ring around his base), tried his best to micro against go.go's timed push. go.go obviously planned going tank+m&m from the beginning as he did not make a single vulture, bisu should have seen that (and at one point he suspected something wrong cuz he sent 2 obs at the same time) but it was too late. It was just a bad BO choice, we all suspected that go.go was probably not gonna play a straight up game either.

That picture was taken at the Group Selection.
Yeah I know, just it was mentioned in this thread and thought they were talking about what happened after the game. Went back and the person was most likely referring to the picture. Thought poster was referring to how they sometimes show the players backstage after the game.
Hmm actually Bisu has horrible stats on ROTK. He won 2 games in total and one PvT...vs Mind where he used the exact same build as today. There are maps, where KTY really struggles to play on... ROTK, Byzantium... "I have no idea how to PvP on this map" - well learn how to. I'm sure he will advance cause he already played his "bad" map, but his attitude for the game is wrong, you cant lose game on the same map over and over again and just use stupid builds to see what will happen. I hope he gets his shit together cause the map poll is really in his favor this season.
Looking at the replay for JD vs Effort, it would seem that Effort didn't micro his mutalisks to fire as quickly as possible? Is that why he lost because I can't find any other explaination. Haha, Type-B with his Slow-tralisks were funny.

Bisu's lost his opening games in both the MSL and OSL for the current season, and has had noticeable losses in the Proleague as well. While he isn't as bad as Stork, it's definitely noticeable.
Stork is crashing and burning. He was knocked out of the GOM tournament in the round of 64 by a total no-name, and he also dropped his opening OSL and MSL matches. He's also lost a couple noticeable Proleague matches.
Jangbi is in the same boat with Stork. He was knocked out in the round of 64 in the GOM tournament, lost his opening MSL game, and, along with Stork, went through that embarrassing clean sweep by SPARKYZ.
Yes, our top Toss players are in a bit of a slump.

How big is Starcraft in China to have commentators on the game as it's being played? It seems like just from this that Chinese community is bigger than English speaking community.
Edit: Just watched Bisu vs Gogo game, they shook hands after the match backstage. So I'm inclined to believe like FBH the bm stuff is just for show. They also hugged briefly. Missed that.
WTS Fanboi tears, no, but really, /pat You'll need your tears for tonight. I mean, I know Bisu blows at TvP and he's good at PvP, but really? Free and JB? Gl on that one, he can't even beat go.go.

That proxy CC crap is getting old - I really hope go.go is crushed by the rest of his group.
In Go.go's defense he had a legitimate reason to do it this time.
which is..?
Bisu called him "Insurance" during the group stages. Like an easy win?
If someone said that to me and then I beat them you can be sure I'd taunt them if I could.
Why do people keep saying this? Backho said go.go was his insurance, not Bisu..
Bisu was really well mannered during the group selection..
Huh? Translated right when Bisu said "I picked Go.go for insurance."
then go.go picked Hwasin because "Bisu is doing so well I need insurance too."
I mean that was straight from Konadora as it happened so.. lolll
Please link to where konadora said this.
Bisu never put down go.go.
Actually Bisu didnt really call go.go insurance. Its just that he picked go.go so that he would have it easy in the ro32. Of course, go.go knows why Bisu picked him. If I was being underestimated like that and I actually won the game I would be a little BM too. lol.
Just for clarification, here's the translation from the OSL group selection when bisu picks go.go (thanks to http://koreanprosc.com/?p=312):
Carri – Go.go… Um – Go.go might pick Canata to put the two players from T1 in the same team! For a team-kill scenario! Caster – you trust Go.go? Bisu – yes, he’s nice and good at games and help me with practice, so he wouldn’t do that! Caster – Go.go, nice and good at games and help me with practice? You’ll spare Bisu the team-kill scenario? Go.go – no, I have my own mind. I don’t care about Bisu’s. Carri – hm…so when Go.go picks…Canata…and Canata picks…Leta? Caster – Go.go, how did it feel when Bisu picked you? Go.go – in the break room, he acted cute around me, so I didn’t think he will pick me….but I’m in his group now…so I might pick Canata. Caster – why you think he picked you? Go.go – cuz he thinks I’m weak… Um – Go.go is the weakest of all the Terrans present… Bisu – it wasn’t about winning games. I just picked someone I know the most. Caster – well, that’s a lie…look at KeSPA’s ranking! Bisu – the ranking might not be the most accurate…but from the practice I think he is the best Terran. Go.go, you got me? Go.go – I got you… Caster – I don’t know what they got…Bisu, we wanna see you at the final. Bisu – I feel like I’ve been around OSL a lot but lost at the round of 4, but this time I will make it to the final.
Bisu never actually calls go.go "insurance" directly, but his intentions for picking him are quite clear...
There was also an exchange between BackHo and Gogo, each of them calling each "insurance" and even Type-B. Gogo ended up winning a prize for the group selection because of all the "insurance claims".
Why did Bisu decide to go 2 base arbs w/o HTs after his DT rush failed? The rushing distance was quite short and Bisu had no scouting information. Bisu knows way more about timing than anyone here, but I am having trouble envisioning a scenario where this would have been the right choice.

I'm guessing a 2 base Terran pressure build that is low in gol count.

Yes, I can see how Bisu saying that he thinks go.go is the best terran, is the same as calling him insurance.
Honestly, the only thing I can think can remotely be maybe BM, is that Bisu picks go.go, and then Go.go picks Hwasin, and calls Hwasin "Insurance", as if on behalf of Bisu.
Fuck Yeah Sparkyz! Good games, I was really surprised type-b won after losing 30+ ovies. I was thinking "oh this game is so long because Stork likes to take his time and a build up insane advantages before capitalizing on them"... and then BAM! Hydralisks.

1. Navigate to www.youku.com 2. Enter the names of the players in the search box, i.e. "jaedong effort" 3. The second "order-by" link from the left is the one to order them by date. Click it 4. Look for OSL or 24-6 somewhere in the description.
Worked quite well for me... (maybe because it's night in china now)
Try http://www.wfbrood.com. They upload VODs to youku so it's easier to find them here. Normally VODs will be uploaded in a few hours after the live games, and in a day or so you can find both VODs with or without chinese commentary, with low quality by the way. It may take forever to load though.

HIS osl? He really dosent deserve it IMO. Every year he picks weak players for his group and still have trouble getting through.
OSL is for effort JD flash to take.
I want to see Effort just storm through either the OSL, MSL, or both and surprise everyone. It'd be cool if he could knock JD out of the GOM round of 8, assuming they both win their matches this Sunday.

I think it be better that effort does not make it out of his group. And loses to violet and we get to see a jaedong violet match

idk i've never been a fan of effort donno why.
Because although he is a very good player, he sort of looks like an alien and that creeps you out?

Lame. JD wins everything, lets see a new up and coming Zerg!
Don't get me wrong, I love JD as much as the next Zerg fanboy, but I want to see new up-and-comers, that's always fun to watch.

Do you honestly believe that bisu really thinks go.go is the best terran?? Bisu picked him because he thought he'd be easy, and he has a history of doing this (see last MSL).
Bisu basically did what pretty much every coach in the NFL does: praise the other team for how awesome they are so that a) if they win, they look better b) if they lose, they don't look as bad and nothing comes back to bite them (except this part didn't work out so well for bisu)

people with basic reading and social understanding abilities
... i just watched tybe-b vs Stork, surely a nice one ... but hey Stork PvZ is painfull to watch, the guy has clearly all the skill it requires but he has no idea about the MU at all. At least not at the level he should. He has not idea when to harass, when to attack, where to attack, when to expand ... wow, complete dark overthere Stork man.
He could get away with a win in the first 10 minutes of the game and was kept at base by 10 mutas ... maybe less.
WHAT A PAIN FOR MY EYES! Give me his skills and i wouldn't lose a fucking PvZ!
