Also you have to admit that, with your track record for in-game chat, most anything you say with a swear in it will be assumed to be BM until proven otherwise. Most of the discussion in this this thread had to do with Daniel's reaction, though. it was proven otherwise by reading what i said... yeah, but Koreans don't realise that. Idra, you have the capabilities to do well, your recent performance has been very good. But you have to realise that you're playing in the professional scene, sometimes you just have to manner up. And you'll be a highly notable player (for the good reasons, of course) in time to come. it wasnt fucking bad mannered i didnt say fuck him i used fuck as an adjective to express my extreme confusion when playing white people.

haha I just had a great idea.
Idra in your next game , type out an explanation and with a simple apology, he will be forced to at the very least read it.

yeah when talking about idra he said "if you're going to talk shit you better make sure you're the best"

Its pretty basic stuff really.

ProSC is like any other sport and/or public event. There are expectations placed on people in terms of what constitutes proper conduct. Recent example: look at the thousands of articles written about LeBron leaving without congratulating the Magic. It doesn't matter so much wether you think he deserved the scolding or not, what matters is what was expected of him vs. what he did. If you're a school teacher you are expected not to use foul language in class. When I go to work I am expected to wear a shirt and tie. When at a restaurant you are often expected not to be too loud (for the most part).
Most of us "get it", and so should you after living in SK and being (at least tangentially) part of the Pro scene for some time.

IdrA, wouldnt it be better to talk directly to SDM or tasteless about this then to randomly post about it on the teamliquid forum?

that's just unfortunate.
didn't tasteless have the replays for a week before it was aired? if this was the case, he should've been cautious of the ingame chat that could offend koreans, who sees Starcraft manner in a different context.
this is just becoming an overblown bullshit.

but the thing is, you're playing in a professional scene, so you just have to watch your words. nobody cares if you use 'fuck' on TL, but people do if you're playing for professional games.
if you didn't know/forgot, then just take this as a learning experience.

so in what way was this broadcasted anyway? Was it on a television channal or something

I think its funny how people give Idra advice like they have been in his position before and they know whats best for his life.
|
I think everyone here is getting off topic. The real question is did idra really beg daniel for the lisence? It was said he won it in the estro inhouse tourney, spill the beans idra

I know for a fact at 23 that I've had to learn alot of things in this life that are much more dramatic then ingame chat and manner in starcraft. Although the noobs on the forum post some really weird advice.
