Don't think 2 Hatch Lurkers is cheese too. BBS/Bunker Rushes are cheese though. It's Upmagic's fault for being extremely greedy by going 14 CC. Hwasin did not expect Luxury to go 2 Hatch Lurkers, can't blame him. Sorry to Flash, pity him. Losing to BBS its just plain sucky. Free got greedy too with 14 Nexus, but Bunker Rush is still meh. Unlucky on his part on not scouting the cheese earlier.

Look where it got him :D It's not like 2-hatch lurks is a strictly all-in strat, nor is it so early in the game that the opponent can't prepare for it. I fail to see how it could be called a cheese since Hwasin saw it coming, already had an expansion up and running, 3 barracks and 2 scanners.

that is exactly what cheese is an early attack meant to end things fast that takes a huge risk, depending on the mu and map the risk goes up and down slightly but it's still cheese and that's what happened every single series edit: overpool's even more cheesy, omg

That's just my opinion though. i agree its pretty all in (esp in that game, if lux failed on that map with those start pos no way he couldve won) but that doesnt necessarily make it a cheese build. imo theres a difference btw cheese and all in. most cheeses fall under all in (if not all) but not all 'all ins' fall under cheese. and i'd agree that 9overpool isnt cheese either. its a risk but its not a cheese at all and serves several other purposes even if zerg doesnt attack. straight 9pool might be closer to cheese in tvz but even thats a bit iffy. cheese is really total all in unexpected if they dont see this theyre screwed but its a huge gamble like 5pool or the offensive 8rax in forgg vs free.

Good point, risky builds can be salvaged if failed. I guess the difference is a "obvious straight up all-in move" versus "very risky but adaptable if done right" build.
