WOW. I cannot believe that just happened. That was definitely Tempest's game to lose...
Great perserverence by Xellos. I know Tempest only had 14 probes left, but Xellos also only had about 30 SCVs and pretty much no army. He might have been able to do what Xellos was doing to him the entire game, but he just gave up.

Xellos is actually the first seeded terran to be eliminated by a protoss. Of the other 4, 2 were eliminated by unseeded Terran and 2 were eliminated by unseeded zerg.

Though im a big cj fan, i dont really am a xellos fan.
Imho he is slumping but it doesnt seem to bother him that much. He seems kinda satisfied with his past glory. I mean savior after every loss last season really seemed crushed and really wanted to get back in shape. Xellos just doesnt give me that impression. Maybe im missreading him.

DE snuck around back with 2 tanks and killed some probes + the weakened nexus at Kal's nat. Kal's reaver drop killed a few scvs but then he suicided the 2 reavers.

Kal pylon walls and expands at top left and has rebuilt his nat as well. Kal goes for a 2 shuttle drop, ineffective.
Kal overexpanding going for a 4th base at 3 o'clock.
Darkelf going up to 6 facs. He will have a timing window to exploit Kal.
All 4 bases mining and Kal goes up to 10 gates to hold off what should be a pushing DE.

Kal did put down 2 more nexuses, let's see if darkelf has a nice timing attack or will he get overmacroed.

When Darkelf came out, Kal pushed him back behind the bridges. Darkelf no longer has time to stop Kal before he gets too big imo. Kal has a solid contain at the bridge.
DE tried to move out again, got smashed back into his nat again. Kal 5 base to 2 now, DE can't win unless Kal falls asleep at the keyboard.
3rd time's a charm for DE as Kal finally lets him out. 177 supply to 117. DE gets his mineral only.

just came back to the stream, looks very interesting!

It's hard to live report what's going on now, Kal was wandering the map picking off stray units and it looked like DE had enough units to stop any direct frontal confrontation against pure zeal/goon but Kal found a moment when DE had almost all tank no vult (and no mines in front) and stomped him.
The description in the live cast of a cat and mouse game played by Kal was apt. Even considering how far ahead he was economically I'm surprised he was able to plow over such a large blob of metal with just zeal/goon. There were no storms or arb/carrier in the final battle.

Jaedong just seems to get to the point where he loses in a league or two where he likely feels he 'should' have won, and then you see his true self showing at GOM or WCG. I'm not sure if he's upset or what, but it seems to give him the drive to start a warpath. It would be great to see him dominate the OSL/MSL again though, as he just has that unbeatable aura.
Whereas the dominance of the players immediately before recent times (Savior, Bisu) was based on their overall control of the game and great builds, Jaedong just seems to actually outplay and outwill his opponents. Like that last game - how scary is it when he's microing his hydras all over the map amazingly, and when they finally go down for the most part, he has that many more to micro all over again. The best part is that he's still able to play amazingly mid-late game when he starts with a 9pool. When he's on, it just seems like you have July microing his units, while oov produces more for him. Unfortunately we don't always get to see him at his best, but it's amazing when we do.
