I'm seriously questioning the new format.

BO3s are nice, but if a player has to play a minimum of 4 games (unlikely) across 2 MUs in one sitting, it's kinda gives the advantage to the one with only 2 games and 1 MU. So far not a single player from the qualifier has advanced to the RO16, only seeded ones.

And if you're unlucky like ForGG you end up with 3 BO3s on the same day. He won 2 but the 2nd one doesn't matter now.

while i agree with your sentiment, your logic ignores several points

Examine the final Bo3, because really thats the only one of interest.

1) Sea vs Pure -> realistically who should win this series? a bit of a toss up eh? but on the whole, Sea is the better gamer and he did indeed win this series (2-1 might i add)
Hence, Expect result = achieved result

2) Flash vs Effort -> Obviously, Flash should take this, and he did
Hence, expected result = achieved result

3) ForGG vs Much -> ForGG is a beast TvP, but he's far from immortal. Much's best matchup is quite easily his PvT (in fact imo its his ONLY matchup). It's not unreasonable to see Much win over ForGG - especially seeing as ForGG's TvP is less established than Much's
Hence, expected result =/= achieved result, but the achieved result isn't completely unfeasible (especially considering the 2-1 score)

No no, this is all wrong.

The question you should be asking is "What'd happen if the final BO3 is in fact the only BO3?"

What would happen if Pure only had to play Sea or ForGG only had to play Much? It makes all the difference b/w having to play 1 BO3 and 2. You can't say "on the whole someone's better" when what matters at that exact moment is 2 wins over 1 MU, and if that exact moment you have 2 BO3 vs someone else's 1, then you're at a disadvantage.

The tired factor *generally* only applies when you have two closely matched gamers going head to head. Either way this system assumes that each group has one strong player per/group (and is the expected and realized group winner). Obviously this reasoning falls down when groups become stacked

They are rewarding the people like Sea, Much, and the ones who have to play only one match because of there results in the previous tourney. The other ones didnt get that for in the last tourney therefore they arre forced to prove more.

Nah, you never know how the first Bo3 would turn out or affect the player's lucidity. But regardless of what you may think, ForGG's had a tough break today.

Well, obviously.

Only this time the seeded position is even more favored to win.

Uh, So Much doesn't have world class PvP? Hell, not even Much's pvz can be bashed that harshly, hes not amazing, but hes not weak at pvz either. Hes just 'eh', considering the quality of his other two match ups, at least.

I think the new system is kinda unfair to those who are coming from the prelims too.

I mean, how can someone expect ForGG to win 3 Bo3's in 1 day, its ridiculous.
