+ Show Spoiler +This game promises to be very interesting as it stars two excellent players in their weakest match-up.  Stork has proven time and time again that he can't beat S-Class Zerg players when it matters most, and therefore was robbed a Starleague and several possible finals appearance. On the other hand,  Luxury is still rather un-tested in this match-up and when he has, he didn’t look too hot. Until very recently... Folks, I bring you Luxury! Luxury is one of the OGN Sparkyz Twins. Always hidden in the shadow of his brother, he was able to step-up and become more than just YellOw[ArnC]'s twin. He became a monster. Luxury is the only Royal-Road contender left and is Zerg's last hope at winning 4 Starleagues in a row. He easily got through his first opponents in the group stage and was paired up with  FrOzean in the Ro8. Hardly the best opponent, but he still slapped him around with style. Luxury is hot and in great shape. Stork is going to have to pull something amazing to beat him on these maps. Luxury's recent performances against Protoss are also quite surprising as he was somewhat known to be bad at ZvP. He is 8-2 in his last 10 games against Protoss, beating players like Nal_rA, Bisu (twice), Much and Stork himself. This is a very important match in his career as if he wins, he gets a shot at eternal glory. If he loses, well we might not see him again for a very, very long time. The only player who can lose so many important matches and still bounce back is his current opponent, Stork. So this brings me to Stork, a player which needs no intoduction. His haters, happy to see him lose to their favorites in the big leagues. His fans, forever broken-hearted by those same results. This guy has a lot to prove. Recognized as the next big thing by BoxeR years ago, Stork has yet to win any major tournament. He is known for his nice shuttle play and jaw-dropping micro in PvP and PvT. Stork is known to be weak against Zerg. But is he really that weak? The only Zergs he really gets out-played by are Jaedong, sAviOr and GGPlay. Those happen to be the last 3 Starleague winners. Was Stork just unlucky to go up against very hot Zergs and just couldn't get in the zone? Would any other Protoss player have done much better against them? BoxeR never won a Starleague with a road paved with Protoss players. Stork must overcome his weaknesses in order to achieve his rightful position: the top. He is 6-4 in his last 10 PvZ games, with three of those to Jaedong. He doesn't seem to show any improvement in the match-up, which might suggest that he has reached his limits. Time is running out for Stork... Practice time is over. Winner takes all!

Stork FTW. I don't see anyone bar Jaedong holding up flash in a Bo5 TvZ with the momentum Flash has, and Stork vs Bisu would probably be awful (either Stork chokes, or Bisu will play terrible, I just know this will happen.) Bisu vs Luxury and Stork versus Flash gives Stork a chance to apply what he/Bisu showed worked, and ensures what should be at least a decent third place match and a fantastic final.
My head says Luxury, though. His ZvP has improved by leaps and bounds, and he's pulled some nice builds in recent times.

Stork is a strong PvsZ player, I wouldn't underestimate him. He even owned Mondragon at the WCG!

For the sake of the best possible games Final and 3rd place, I really want Stork to win. Stork and Flash is the most entertaining P v T around, and I'd be excited to see if Bisu still has his mojo P v Z. If Lux wins, Flash will roll over him (if Flash can handle Jaedong, he can certainly handle Lux) and Bisu / Stork will be 3-0 to the Birdman, neither of which is exciting.
So Song Byung Goo fighting!
Realistically though, I think Luxury is going to wipe the floor with the Birdman.

Though my reasoning is selfish, I'm tired of Flash vs Stork. I watched the GSI finals late into the night. But I want flash to rape Luxury, or 3-2 him in an epic series. Either way.
Luxury does deserve mad props though...
Edit: Oooh at above post, I forgot about 3rd place match. Bisu vs. Stork would be pretty boring too. So I guess either epic Flash vs Storj or Bisu vs. Luxury. Oh well, I just want entertaining games, since I'll probably watch live.

I expect Luxury to win this series, but he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of beating Flash in the finals. Stork on the other hand, if he somehow manages to beat Lux and doesn't choke in the finals, has a very good PvT and could beat Flash.

Luxury certainly would have a chance vs flash, not once have I seen Flash outplay Jaedong in a straight up game. And Luxury is on fire atm!

This is kind of an awkward one for me. I really like both Stork and Lux, so I will be sad if either wins. If Stork wins, I will be sad for Lux cause I like him and I like zerg, but if Lux wins, I win look at Stork like wtf not again?

Stork has a decent chance. In tv games, Lux has only beaten him due to an all-in zergling attack against fe, and lost in a straight up game.
Both were on python, and the two suck at this mu so it should it real interesting.

Heh, Stork usually only chokes in finals, and he really wants this, so I favor him despite the maps (ZvT Blue Storm is more imba than ZvP anyway). I hope he mixes it up a little and go for classic two-gate a game or two to throw off luxury though

This should be a really close series. Both players have been showing solid/sharp play recently. Both players should be under an equal amount of pressure as well. Stork because of his past, his tendency to falter in tough situations, and the way he under preforms when it seems to matter most. Luxury because he has never been even close to a semi final before. This also gives him an edge I believe. Stork really has no idea what to expect. Also the maps favor Luxury slightly.

Oh I agree, I know they still want to win too. The point is with them there's at least SOME logical reason as to why they may not be motivated. There isn't a single reason as to why stork wouldnt be.

Speed lings run in but quickly run away after seeing the nice building placement. 2 of 16 or so die to cannon fire. Archives up for stork. The sair has scouted the building of lux and killed an overlord. He doesnt risk attacking another due to the spire. 2 scourge out, as well as a dt which slashes one ling to death. Stork makes only 2 cannons at his main. A dt tries to sneak into the zerg main but the overlord placement is strong and speedlings take it down. Cannon fire kills the scourge. A group + of hydras with speed are out.

Hydra lings timing attack just before storm is done!! Stork pulls probes. Storm finishes just in time! The hydras retreat but more are on their way, stork needs to be very careful. As does lux. 2 sairs harassing ovies while handling the pressure. A dt looking to harass but lux is solid. A sair down to hydras as does another. An ovie does go down but another ovie and 4 hydras handle the dt.

Lux used his Hydras for a Nat break. He killed 2/4 cannons and the forge before being repelled by storms. While his hydras were there a few sairs went OL harrassing.

WOW beautiful speedling flank kills 2 high templar as some speed zeals are wasted to mass hydra. Horrible by stork, he loses a total of 3 ht as another one goes down to hydra. Lol a 4th ht goes down but he rapes the mass hydra with a HUGE number of zealots alone. Lux is paying for his earlier all in attack as zeals overwhelm the zerg hydra army and lux GGs.

If this is all Luxury can offer, Bisu already has the third place, signed, sealed and delivered. Well done by Stork I guess, the all in really hurt luxury's ability to stop the ZEAL FACTORY Stork had going there.

Yeah this game was very bleh. I didn't get to see the gate count but stork just went zeal with speed + HT after holding his Nat. Luxury wasted too many hydras on the attempted Nat break and split his army a bit to prevent sair harass.
He got about 2 control groups of hydras corralled into a corner and his reinforcements were late and had to run away.
Lux was running 4 hatches and had a good eco but no defense at all except a sunk at the min only

poor game overall, Storks control seemed somewhat bad for him, dt/sair failed badly, lost ht's in middle to some lings was also not so nice...

I think lux really suffered from lack of scouting(thanks to the early sairs). He probably assumed Stork was going to take his third and wanted to power his econ to full while switching to lurk. From there he probably planned to pump only units while upping from 3 evos while starting his 4th. However stork went 5 gate pure temp/zeal and easily overran him before lurk tech was even close to ready and his unit count was relatively weak due to the failed attack and followup drone power.

Yeah Jaedong lost horribly against Stork in the last OSL Finals first game and still came back and raped him 3-1

Stork makes a gas, ouch another mistake by stork, his zeal was out of place and let a drone scout in. 8 lings or so on their way. 2 zeals will be out in time to block. Dispite the minor errors, the openings are very good for stork. A very early stargate going down. Lux starting his 3rd hatch. Ooo a probe makes it into the zerg base.

Den now going up for Luxury as Stork gets a forge and starts his first sair.
Lux has about 10 lings running around while Stork is about to take his Nat it looks like

Hydra den going down, stork moving out with 3 zeals but moves them right back and guards his ramp with them + a goon. Hydra den completly, very low drone count for lux. Hes obviously planning a early hydra/ling push to deny the expo. If it fails he will be in deep shit Cannons already started at the nat. 2 of them. Lux will have his work cut out for him. He does deny the first sair and I guess because of storks fairly nice early troop count he simply powers drones while only making 48and starting his lair. Stork definitely ahead so far.

Stork pushes a bit at Lux's Nat but is repelled and loses his only sair. He doesn't seem to be making another one.
luxury meanwhile got his nat's gas and his lair is done. Stork is getting another gate and his templar archives are already done.

Stork now heading out with 6 zeal and a goon. He gets repelled by a lot of hydraling in Lux's nat.
I do not understand his choice of not FEing. He didn't put any pressure and expanded much later.

Wow stork losing his sair to hydra. Archives started as well as a second gate and a third cannon. The nexus is about to warp in and lux is increasing his hydra count. Not sure why though, stork will be safe to any hydra push with 7 or so zeals 3 cannons and a goon.

Luxury uses 12 hydras with range to take out Stork's assimilator at his natural but has to back off due to too many cannons + zeals.
He tries it again and is caught out of position and loses like 8 hydras

Its very possible OneOther but I doubt it. Haha Storks cannons are too far back and some hydras move ina and kill gas. Speed zeal push! They run into 2 gorups of hydras though and run away quickly. HYDRA ATTACK! LOL great timing from storm and 2 perfectly placed storms rape the shit out of the hydras.

Stork heading in with zeal/ht and an archon but Lux has 4 lurkers! Lux is safe before obs.

Stork has cannons in place at his main and a well place storm deals with the lurks. Lux sacraficed 2 of them to target fire the probes but didnt do that great of a job and only got some. He IS taking the island expo though and over all he is playing well. Stork starting his 3rd.

Protoss's are such a hard nut to crack when they have all their tech that I don't like this for Lux

Anch, 30 supply behind is completely normal for pvz at his point in the game. Lux has taken the top island base as well and is trying to take the main at 10 but speed zeals will force a cancel. Omfg lux..he fails to cancel the hatch and it dies while he wastes a shit load of speedlings that stream in one by one. This is god awful zerg play=/

I don't know why Lux would attempt to expand to land bases while Stork has map control. It makes no sense. He'll get 5 bases and 4 gas just taking the islands and will be more secure.

After wasting 30 or so lings lux finally manages to kill the speed zeals. A 4 overlord drop is moving out but a obs catches a glipse of it but a nice scourge takes it ouch. If lux drops it will not be very successful. And its not:p 2 temps were there as well as cannons. Stork is taking the nat at 3.

Yep, stork ggs as the rest of his smallish army is cut down. Stork was wayyy too slow in taking more bases to power the gas he needed for mass archons and other tech.

There was like no pressure in this game. Lux had many many sunks at his choke and just out expanded stork while keeping him at bay with some drops. The drops weren't successful but the threat was very important.

Stork was doing quite well fair play, but his army was lacking in gas. also he was slow at taking further expansions. I didn't see any temp drops?
That's the difference between Stork and Bisu.
Bisu harass' 24/7 temp dropping while taking the map and getting his gas heavey army ready for battle.

I disagree, his macro was very poor, and his decisions were fine. He just got overrun. He was very VERY slow in taking new bases despite having a unit advantage for most of the game until ultras were out. A good protoss will expand like a zerg as soon as he has map control and then mass reaver to secure the end game. Stork only took 1 extra base and it was much later than lux took his. Maybe stork didnt think lux could possible have the northern island but he really shouldve expected it due to the early drops and semi passive play by lux.

Finally Lux creamed Stork! But damn I'm NOT impressed with his play so far. He seems to me to be very weak vs. Protoss early on, or is it just because of his stupid mistakes in the beginning of the games? At the end he overran him with units but untill then I think he's unfortunately very vulnurable early on. He better up his game even more if he wants to him the match I think.

It's like they send out whatever they got and just keep doing it until... something happens.
The timing and the gamesense are always a bit off.

Lux lost tons of units early-midgame but the safe island meant he only had to defend one place really to get a 4 base economy running. ZvP after hive tech is so much easier.
The game illustrates why good PvZers go sair/reaver on this map.

Because most toss open FE --> sair + reaver --> take island --> rape. And its very difficult to stop. Don't really know what stork was thinking with his build.

for those of you wondering where the ultras came from, pay more attention to the players' resources. they're displayed at the bottomright corner of the screen. You would have noticed luxury saving up to like 2000/2000 after his hive was complete, which is of course for ultralisks. That's why luxury was using just zerglings to mess with stork

It might have worked but descisions like that are alawys hard because if it doesn't..he loses his whole army that takes him a long time to re-build and z has hive tech with his island expo..kinda bad for P then.
Stork should've played a little more conservative at the point he should've felt the ultras were coming, surely he's played enough pvz's to be able to tell when the ultras are coming in. Also I'm assuming he knew about the 12 expo the moment he got dropped the first time. so I'm not sure why he didn't actively try to kill it..

I do think Fantasy II is toss favored as long as P plays sair/reaver and takes the islands. If Z starts at either of Xenosky or Gaema where you can get 3 for one and takes an island in addition that is very very hard for protoss to play against.

Stork scouts the relatively late pool and makes a gateway before his first cannon while lux starts his 3rd hatch before his pool is done. Lux makes his gas at his nat first. Must mine faster there

Lux does proceed to pressure the nat with speedhyra. Looses some when he gets too close but backs off and snipes a gateway and one cannon.
He still pressures Stork. Stork now adding 3 more gateways for a total of 5. He has archives so storm soon.

lux still has to go through 10 cannons and gets his ~20 hydras repulsed after taking down 5 or so cannons. He's retreating now and stork is back up to 10 cannons at his choke

Hydras take down 2 zeals a cannon and the gateway before the majorty of cannons hatch and force them back for now. The hydras move in again LOL just as the power generator is engaged and kill a few more zeals and goon. OUCH. Wtf are you doing lux. He attacks again and takes out a few zeal but not much else as he loses an ovie to a weak sair as well as most of his hydras...

Stork has 7 Cannions and 3 more warping in. Lux breaks all zeals and probes are forced to come out to defend. However mass cannons deal too much damage and Lux is repelled.
That attach was not good for Lux.
10 cannons (lol) and 2 ht at wall for Stork now. He is safe for sure.

bisu defended the same thing from savior with less cannnons and didn't lose much either sigh.... the difference between stork's pvz and bisu is like night and day

A weak sair flys over 3 hydras who decide not to fire at it because they're really nice guys. Lux has a 4th hatch now and starts powering drones...finally. Lux is definitely behind. And stork moves out witha small group of zeal + 2 ht.

God awful play by lux as all his hydras are seperated and cut down by different groups of zeals + storm. A quick and easy win by stork as lux played a horrible hydra all in. Most likely inspired by the difficulty of the map, but still, poorly executed. He made a bad decesion after the initial pressure which resulted in a waste of a LOT of hydras. This lead quicky to his loss, just like in the first game except minus the storm

Luxury had main+2 expos running with 4 hatches. He had a fairly late lair after he did his big hydra push and choked it with no lurker tech. His drone count was fairly pitiful I think.

That was just like game one. Lux comes in for a nat kill, looses units putting himself at a disdvantage, then gets overrun by speedzeals and ht because he is behind and has no lurkers.
What the fuck Luxury. Bad decision making. I was SURE from the start that Stork's wall would not fall to hydra.

I am quite dissapointed in lux. It is nice to see stork advance though (I hope he takes this, he deserves a first)
And I'm pretty sure he was saving up for mutas, I don't think he was researching lurker tech.

Ok, you realize how gay it is to respond to a post I make about GAME TWO, after the end of game THREE? What the fuck My post was about fucking game TWO, which is when you made your comment. And I thought lux played pretty solid overall that game. Other than the ling line attack and failure to cancel his hatch lux played a good game.
Game three was a different story. Horrible horrible decesion to continue an attack against 8 cannons. He was in a fine position after taking out those zeals + the gate way. He shouldve started lurk tech asap, powered drones and started a 4th base. AND NOT ATTACKED ANYMORE.

Good point there didn't really think about it because I was a little pissed with his play and just wanted your attention as to why I overall think he's playing not that well. Stork actually plays quite okay, he just needs to do some shuttle harassment. Luxury on the other hand is playing absolutely horrible; doesn't manage his larvae, doesn't make enough drones, turtles like hell until he gets hive tech, wastes a lot of units carelessly...

Looks like stork is pumping 1 gate sairs with a quick +1 upgrade.

Stork vs Flash is going to be a decent series, it may end up being a strong repeat of the GSI though, but troy and fantasy will be an interesting factor that could go either way.
I fear that flash has figured out Stork though, but stork deserves a win, it would be a tragedy if he couldn't secure at least 1 starleague win in his career.
I personally think kal vs jaedong will be a lot better than most people will expect, Kal really knows how to abuse those maps while Jaedong's ZvP has been on hiatus for some time, with his last being a loss vs Much on a strong ZvP map.

That was awful. Stork hasn't improved his PvZ very much since the last OSL, but with the garbage Luxury was throwing at him, he didn't need to. Lux would have had a better chance with four straight 5pools.

Well, I have a feeling that Stork will win over Flash in the final, that will probably be a pretty close one, with the result being 3 - 2 in favor of the Protoss side. Ok, Stork lost to Flash several days ago in another final but that does not mean that he is destined to lose once again. On the contrary, that loss now gives him a thirst for revenge, makes him more determined and careful. Oh yeah, and when a Toss of the highest calibre as Stork is careful enough to not play flashily you get the champion!

I think it will be pretty close again. But as Stork fears Blue Storm (read his interview on GG.net), he will be tense and loose lamely. Then the thought "OMG. This is happening again..." will start lingering in his mind. And he will choke. Again.
Anyway, I hope the scenario will for once deviate from : Goliaths show up -> shuttle harass fail -> Goliaths upgrade -> Carriers show up -> Goliaths rape Carriers -> gg.
Then again it is better then M&M + SCV rush -> fails or succeeds -> gg or Proxy whatever -> succeeds or fails -> gg.
I really hope this final provides awesome games, but I doubt.
