Also, in the 2 hours between the seasons Pads was #2 on 1v1 and 2v2 ladder with the aka FT.Legacy. And clan Paddy was the #3 clan.

i belive there's 18 accounts I played on last season.
And yeah going top 2 in both 1v1 and 2v2 was a struggle and didn't last long, but I was loving it all the way.

I'm on KwarK_uK not UKProtoss, although UKProtoss is one of mine. I was playing on a 3rd aka last night but got pissed off at fongers ownage of me and reset the stats by dumping them on UKProtoss. I'll go back to the 2nd, unknown aka sometime. I expect I'll leave UKProtoss dormant now though.

Fuck off. Check my record; you'll notice that earlier in the season I went 8-3 against Kwark. The reason for the quick wins recently were a combination of Kwark's consistently strong early game and the fact that he found a weakness in my play and exploited it, as any good player should do.
Our record in the past has always heavily favoured Kwark, but - ladder or not - I'd rather play and lose to a strong player several times in a row than pick up wins off less-experienced players. I've learned a lot about early-game TvP from playing Kwark, and intend to learn a lot more, so keep an eye out for more "abuse" please.
As for Kwark's games against Silver, I believe they have an agreement whereby Kwark teaches Silver BW and Silver teaches Kwark poker. I believe Silver teaches Kwark poker in real money games too; fucking cheat or?!?

They are not the same guy. You'll notice one plays terran and the other zerg. If you look at the games of ZealoT_uK you'll notice both have beaten me. If you pm fonger on here you can ask him. I have both on msn and when they're on I'll ask them for games. Or you could just download the reps, which I have uploaded, and see that the games were legit.
In future ask before accusing someone of cheating. Both guys are known on tl, though Silver far more on liquidpoker.

No. I played no games on UKProtoss. I just smurfed on ZealoT_uK at the start of the season and then when I got pissed off I reset it by statdumping on UKProtoss.

I just played a guy named "IM3", Protoss player from Canada.
The way he sets his hotkeys I'm thinking he could be Oldy. He was a bit low on apm (Oldy has about 140 apm, IM3 had 120), but I'm thinking he didn't give his best on D level.

As previously said you register your account on the gateway login in-game. No activation is good!
And they've stated before that they are continually working on the transition. Wonder why they didn't keep the old design until it was fully finished though.

the coaches have always cared because it's public. iccup is lower quality practice than professional players have available to them. i imagine the players do it mainly for fun during their off hours but the coach has to intervene because public games are bad for the team.

this season is really tough......
and even though I play at korean hours, i feel bit reluctant to play them cuz I can't have the LAN latency speed with them for some reason. I always have to rely on extra high vs koreans, and low lat vs nonkoreans. switching back and forth is bad esp blockin an all in rush

I dont think that the top of the ladder is Mind AND Jaedong AND Luxury AND Bisu AND Stork and so on ... There might be few top progammers but most of them are top semi pros / amateurs or Class B/C pros ( imo ).

PGT had a way bigger player-base so there were more, worse, players at the high ranks, but also more, better, players at the high ranks. So depending on what you did you could either be A+ against really good players or A+ against good, but not AS good, players.
On PGT at B I remember there were a billion people in the A-B channels, whereas on ICCUP it's sometimes super hard to get a game if you're at B or higher and sometimes there aren't even any other people at your rank even in the channel (this will prolly change this season with the Lan Lat setting drawing in more people...I haven't played yet this season so I donno)

But the season started about a week ago.. I mean of course there are gonna be quite a few more B and A players once the season gets a few more weeks in. PGT ranks climbed at about the same pace.
I think this season is comparable to PGT. The difference for me is that the motw pool is a little better than PGT which often had like 2 maps no one would play and then something kinda gay for laddering like Blade Storm. So I would end up playing Blade Storm and losing to bbs off the bat 1/3 games.

The low level has increased a lot. Even d/d+ players will now viable build, decent micro and macro. If u are better of course u wont have trouble vs them but i remember on pgt d/d+ sometimes were worst than a computer..

my only guess is that they dont want their strategies to leak. the lower tier progamers, and the very best amateurs, might use iccup to practice, so they'll play on useful maps, but the better koreans use it for fun i guess, so they'd prefer retired maps.

do the top koreans on iccup really care about the fact which map is motw ? I think for foreigners its much more important what is motw. For the Top Korean players its a little factor. They often choose to play katrina,blue storm and other maps even if they arent motws ( anymore )

I'm kind of confused here. The last 10 or so replays of oversky i could find (on gg.net) dont match the entourage rep at all. Yet almost all of the older ones, vs people like elky etc, match very closely.
Normally this wouldnt be a big deal because fake/misnamed replays are always released but there are alot of replays that dont match. Maybe someone can help me shed some light on this.
Possibilities:
a) Someone other than oversky plays on oversky's battle.net account. This seems unlikely because some of the replays are from the seebox starleague and using a smurf would get gsp disqualified, i dunno if they'd risk it.
b) All the old replays of oversky are fake. Seems unlikely because some of them were from games vs elky in tournyments the real oversky played in.
c) Oversky changed his hotkeys during the last 2 years. This would mean that the entourage rep isnt oversky but someone using his exact old hotkey footprint.
All the options seem equally rediculous. Anyone have any ideas?

is it plausible that he played iccup before or after the game against good friend? I think that is unlikely.
Maybe my conversions are wrong but if i can get a definitive answer that would be good.
edit: anyway i was comparing a replay of boxer vs lx on rpoint played a long time ago to andromeda999 vs iefnaij on troy and it looks like they're the same person. there's a tell tale sign that pretty much confirms it i think.
edit2: lol. in the same replay it shows that boxer hotkeyed his CC to 4.

I suspect that the hotkey method will generate a lot of false positives. Of course one can rule out it's not person A or B. But you can't conclude that it must be person C. There's only so many ways you can use your hotkeys.
Everyone wants this guy to be Boxer as well. So that's what we are biased towards.

You are simply very wrong with you understanding about how hotkey signature works. Boxer has a very, very unique signature and apm range for mouse and keyboard. The only other player that comes close is Shudder, and they can be differentiated. In fact, just about every pro has a distinct hotkey signature, forged through tens of thousands of practice games. They *try* to keep the same hotkeys (matchup-specific, of course) and even the same hotkey timings by practicing every game.
If Romad, who is the hotkey savant, confirms that it's Boxer, its 99.9999% Boxer. Often even progamers give replays to Romad to find out if their opponent was a smurf. His judgment in these cases is very reliable.

Because maybe two lesser known amateurs have a pattern close enough that its possible to make a mistake, but Boxer's hotkey sig is one of the most known, unique, and looked over thing. Romad will not make a mistake about Boxer's hotkeys. Even if Shudder is similar, he's still quite distinguishable.

3/4 of their join dates are 08 May. That's TWO DAYS AGO. A few of the Koreans they trade wins with have a join date +/- 5 days of that date. Another interesting thing to note is that all of the other Koreans that weren't registered within 5 days of 8 May were registered on 10 March. It looks like my initial impression was wrong - they're not abusers, they're just smurfs. So unless this is a bug with iCCup (and it might be, who knows), it looks more to me less like 4 players in Australia suddenly got good enough to hit A in 2-5 days, and more like people from another country either abusing or smurfing to the top.

I presume that you haven't actually read through anything in this thread and have missed the threads made for Who is Who PGT seasons 1-11, Abyss, and ICCUP. People post records and IDs. This leads to other people who may have played that ID to upload their replays. Then replay analysts look at it and suggest it could be this or that player. One need only glance through the previous 41 pages of this thread to see this trend.

Because all players have their "signature" with hotkey spamming, and which hotkeys they use. And when you play so many games the pattern doesn't change from game to game. You just have to compare the replay of the smurf, with a replay of the real player and you'll see if it was the real player or not.
And romad has done this for so long, so he knows alot of the progamers signatures already. He is awsome!
