i dont mean he sux.. but surely aint as good as people are saying he is. the way hes being hyped you'd think he has more than a couple of starleague titles.

Jaedong's skills are undeniable--I don't think it's fair to use starleague titles to judge his ability. It's been a while since we've had someone as dominant as Jaedong is right now, perhaps since savior's prime a little over a year ago. If Jaedong doesn't let recent mishaps against flash faze him, then he has a good chance at more titles.

I think people are neglecting just how good Flash is.
Flash is now a favourite for this OSL.
He's very young also, surely he has many titles in his future.

I don't think anyone is doubting Flash, not anymore. He has walked the toughest road possible, and deserves a title more than anyone right now. This is his year.

I haven't read the whole thread but how many people approximately are already claiming that Jaedong is in a slump and that he'll never win again? I get the impression when a good player loses after winning a lot that people immediately assume he's slumping.

Seriously, as much as I hate the kid, Flash has skills. I'd put him as an easy favorite for this OSL.

yes, jaedong is far from a slump- you just can win forever...considering the resent results and the motivation he is showing for me bisu is the favorite...the map pool for the semi in the OSL i think favors him too

u forgot bisu... two leagues back to back and 2nd place finish. and jaedong is far from dominating.

While Flash is good, he potentially has to beat Bisu and Stork. He's beaten other Protoss pretty consistently, but these two in particular are well... you know, TOUGH. There's nothing about beating Jaedong that says to me "This kid is going to walk over two of the best players in PvT." He's 1-6 against Stork for crying outloud. While it's possible Lux will take care of Stork for him, for me to say he's the favorite (let alone easy favorite) he'd have to have a very good chance of beating everyone, and he just doesn't.

Now to say he has as good of a chance as Stork and Bisu, I'd buy that. But favorite? Come on.

I think Flash has improved extremely in the past few months. I remember the time when we were all afraid it'd come to lategame and Flash would crumble like a little kid with lots of micro mistakes (carrier autowin vs Flash!). Nobody jokes around about that nowdays though. He's a fucking monster and I barely see any flaws in his play any longer... I've only gotten that feeling with a very scarce number of players throughout the years. In my eyes, he is the favourite over both Bisu and Stork.

He has completely come into his own recently. There really is no longer any aspect of his game that can't be described as top notch. Like oov and NaDa, he doesn't have a weak match up. I'm really excited to see him contend for the OSL title.

I agree for sure with your first paragraph. In fact, I think the fickleness of fans in this sport (as well as in several others, ie fighting) can probably contribute to people slumping. Lose one game suddenly everyone starts talking like it's the end of the world, lose a BO3 and you are slumping all of a sudden.

Second paragraph I disagree (EDIT: oops, thought you said he deserves it most, not that he's the favorite, I dunno, stork vs flash seems like a coin-toss to me, and you can't really call a game vs Bisu easy, dunno enough about Luxury's ZvT to comment but he's done pretty well this league

) Bisu deserves it more than anyone else in the world. Sorry flash, sorry stork, sorry jaedong, sorry everyone. The best PvZ player of all time ought to have an OSL title, yes, 2 MSLs is cool and stuff, but he needs an OSL for the sake of justice.

Generally bad player/map draw always... poor Flash.

The irony of this is Bisu may just go DT drop into Arbiters anyway.

Flash is a fantastic player and tbh, I'd put him 55:45 against Bisu even with those map draws (Because damn, Bisu no likey Blue Storm). He won't beat Stork in a Bo5 though. That said, I am hoping for Bisu to win this one -> I want Bisu to have an OSL at last.

Flash has come a long way and particularly with his TvZ. His TvT/TvP may have reached the same level, and we hopefully we'll find out in 2008.
