After two first games, nobady would bet in Soma, yet he did not only play solid, but win 'mind' moments with Flash. Well deserved Soma.

Do you think the level of play in starleagues such as in this ASL has increased or decreased compared to kespa days? If it has increased, and soma showing the level of dominance he has on his come up, this time even beating flash in the finals. Could an argument be made for him being the greatest player of all time? I'm not saying the most accomplished, but the highest skilled player we've ever seen.

to observer "seeing all" seems that after first lings + drones went into his main he should have lift cc, transfer scvs to nat and block the entrance with 3-4 scvs, might be because of his lack of recent real world ladder/proleagues matches experience, he made wrong real time decision anyway cc first on 2 player map is a gamble, not worth by "goat" in game 7 if he was confident

soma opened in a way to where he sent a scout so it arrived at the same timing as he would have to decide whether to 12hatch or 12pool. he sent a drone to natural to 12hatch, saw the cc-first and then switched to 12pool into gas. so the decision to pool-first and pull the drones was a punish on reaction, not a blind cheese

The way in shape soulkey destroyed people for two years straight makes it hard to argue Soma is better. You can even say that this run was pretty weak. Playing devil’s advocate here, but tulbo and Leta are pretty low tier players. Maybe two of the easiest quarter and semifinal opponents ever. And while Flash is Flash, he also has only been back one season on allegedly injured wrists. Meanwhile Soulkey simply torches everyone one of every race at every level for a long time. In my book Soulkey is still superior to Soma in the ASL era.

20 Pros have all said it was over and almost everyone here are like "flash can still win".

He's just a master in making a story of himself, this time making it look as if he's semi invalid. And I for one am extremely glad he lost.

The victory is earned and I'm very happy for Soma. Flash had a fantastic season. A butterfly could flap his wings in Brazil and it would be different... com'on you guys, he's still the best and we all know it. So just realx and enjoy the result for what it is, a worthy result for a great season (and I believe it won't be Flash's last). GGs!

"Greatest player of all time" isn't interchangeable with "the highest skilled player we've ever seen", so I'll say no, there's no argument to be made for him being the greatest player of all time.

I've read noone here saying "14 CC is not eco-cheese" or "Soma dirty cheese-winner" or "Flash could've won the game when gg was called". Just some people arguing about the details of one particular game and what could've been (like most love to do here), and others not really taking part but paddling their narrative. Everyone who's drawing Flash's play into question is talking about the situation right BEFORE he canceled his 2nd rax that was blocking the natural (except for 2 small chokes) - NOT the end-state of the game when he called gg because it was clearly over. If Flash evacuates the main at that earlier point, he has a 12-13 SCV economy and a bunker to defend and build enough marines to clear the main and start using his 2nd CC; Soma's natural-hatch just started building and he has like 7-8 drones at home. How is that a save win for Soma? Not like he's building up a standard 2hatch-muta from that. More like he needs to find a way to kick the bunker or kill some more SCVs quickly, with 9-10 lings (6 outside the wall) and 2 drones... They showed the crowd at that point, Flash's mom in particular, hinting at "Flash might've just held this". On May 25 2026 01:26 VioleTAK wrote: This was a great finals! Just don't come here and make idiots of people who seriously watch these games.
