happy for mong, sad for speed. If speed beat Mong he would have beaten Shine. Speed has a good record over shine. But speed cant beat snow or mong. Bit sad he didnr get to play his best MU.

I had shine at the bottom of this group cuz Mong usually shows a very strong tv in PL and spons. Shine feels too much like a cheese/trick player these days who falls off in standard when his tricks dont work. I had speed over shine because speed tends to crap on shine in tvz. But mong lost to shine which threw speed into tvt and he never got the chance to play shine. Speed had a realistic chance if he had to play shine in losers.

That comes down to both of them using different unload input techniques. Mong almost always did U left click on each dropship or regular unload on location click with a shift command after, and Speed seemed to do regular unload clicks on location. You can see this in some of Speed's dropships not flying to the actual location but getting stuck hovering over high ground, or not moving after finishing their unload. Speed did do it when breaking 9 location base tank line, but he unloaded somewhat inefficiently by picking a vertical angle into an horizontal tank line, where a horizontal unload angle would probably netted him less lost units.

Mong is actually pretty consistently good. Around a similar level or a bit worse than Shuttle results-wise, and solidly better than amateur Terrans.

Has qualified for EVERY SINGLE ASL except season 10, always around the 6-8th best Terran in the world, along with Barracks, Ample and Ssak.

I don't think he would ever make Ro8, but Ro16 for sure

Disappointed Shine didn't get through, he's more than just a gimmick player and can be very entertaining to watch. Going muta all-in in the final game was a strange gamble though...

I can understand Shine's thinking a little bit since Mong seemed so weak to muta harass in their first MU, but yea he just played it sooo predictably and mong came way more prepared the second game. Such a shame because shine would be such a more entertaining player to have in Ro16 than mong IMO.

Also love Nyoken and Gypsy's cast but someone remind them that Shine did actually make the finals of ASL before (all the way back in ASL3 lol).

I love Shine, and hes super solid but it looks like hes playing quite poorly for quite some time now...
So im fine with him not making it...
Was hoping Speed over Mong though, Speed is
probably the next guy to join the big boys at the very top.
