Just crossing my fingers we don't have a ZvZ finals. I have nothing against Zerg, but ZvZ matches are way too short. And too much coin flipping.

SK surprised me that he got out from group of death especially after how Light dominated him on g1. I swear SK is the scariest player to play bo5/7 so this time he is winner contender. Just watch how he gets sniped by ZvZ... Btw how ro8 bracket works, I hope they will rig it to give JD deeper run. JD vs. JyJ is what I'm hoping for.

They are both top of their groups so won't meet. Possible opponents for JD are Queen, Soulkey and Hero/Bisu. There is a possibility that JD will entirely JvZ his way to championship lol.

Really like the addition of 76 into the map pool. Creates unique games. Tough day for Light. He looked like the best player in the group in some games, and others just like another Terran. Would like to know his thoughts on why he went away from his Valkyrie build in game 3 vs SK. Hopefully we get Bisu and Mind/Ssak advancing tonight.

JD vs. JyJ is what I'm hoping for. lol what? last 3 months of sponmatches JD has the best score in ZvZ and the worst in ZvT, its the opposite you have to hope for. JyJ might be ok for him because JyJ lacks offline experience in deep tournaments but still he is terran ![]() Just see the zergs in top10 for this year all positive vs terran, only JD is negative and vice versa - JD has the best ZvZ score out of them by a large margin(also has the most games) Also JyJ is with good stats vs Z(9th position in this ladder). ![]() On March 29 2023 06:58 TMNT wrote: They are both top of their groups so won't meet. If JD avoids terrans he has legit chance of winning this whole thing(imo). So is it 1st vs 2nd for sure? Or there will be another draw with all qualified and position does not matter?

Light did have his chances to advance but 76 made it that much harder. I like innovative maps but they should be battle tested before being placed in a top tier tournament. I would say they are fun but we all know which way certain matchups will go… where is the fun in that? When T has to open 2 port wraith in TvP it shows you where the map is at Edit: for what it’s worth, of course I’m a salty T fan here. Forgive me

When you’ve watched Broodwar long enough you realize “innovative” maps like 76 and Battle Royal (etc) are (essentially) garbage… I used to be excited about maps like this because I wanted to see players “overcome” and “innovate”… but it never works out like that. I think he didn't play as well as he could. He had good winning chances and went for an ill-advised drop that cost him the game on 76.

I had low hopes for toss in this group, but very pleasantly surprised with Best. I really thought he was going to lose to Soulkey. Great day for the games though, good back and forth in most of them. Hope I wake up tomorrow to some equally good games!

In all seriousness though, despite the lopsided racial distribution, this is a really exciting and competitive ro8 bracket.
