well...originally that was just the qualifier. something like: group stage, then single elemination until there are only 12 people left. but because of the inactivity there was never a need for such a stage.
i'd say make this an OSL rather than MSL. we can have a group selection on IRC or something with you hosting it asking questions and stuff and us thrash talking each other ^^

The group selection we will be doing (unless there are massive objections) will likely be as follows:
1st Seed -> 1st Pick -> 5th Pick -> 9th Pick
2nd Seed -> 2nd Pick -> 6th Pick -> 10th Pick
3rd Seed -> 3rd Pick -> 7th Pick -> 11th Pick
4th Seed -> 4th Pick -> 8th Pick -> Last Pick
The "->" indicated one player choosing the other, so the 1st seed would pick a player, then the player he pick will choose the next player in the group and so on.
If it can be arranged to be done on IRC, that sounds like it would be a good idea, if we can't get all sixteen players in the same place at the same time we will have to resort to other means, such as posting/editing choices in this thread.
I have PM'ed everyone about the opening of the league. Everyone will be updated on group selection when confirmations are received.

gaia or fantasy
RoV or HH
and maybe one old map like Into the Darkness or Challenger (i'm serious) or something?
And maybe one of the new pro maps? I don't know them but I guess having one to learn wouldn't' be so bad.

Hello,
I've thought a bit about the maps, and I came to two conclusions. First, I don't want to reuse Tau, longings, Peaks, etc....it would be boring (imo). The second conclusion is that we should use the msl s3 maps. Why? Well, look at the maps:
- Python: Not much needed here: it's a great map, balanced, simple, and has shown to produce good games. I would have put this in no matter what.
- Blue storm: We need a two player map. To be honest, we have three options: this one (blue storm), Monty hall, and Peaks. Peaks is overused, is old, and though it gives good games is....well, old. MH is no better. No matter the balancing, I still hate the map...sorry 
- Zodiac: I like the map, not much too it, and seems it's quite popular.
- Katrina: Same as zodiac.
All in all, I wanted new maps, maps that people will have to learn (in the case that some haven't been practicing/gaming) and maps that will provide good games.
There we go.
Next post will be about seed selection.

How are the groups/brackets being decided? I wanna know who i'm playing and what's going on as soon as possible, i wanna know what to practice. Happy this event made a return here, I will do my bestest to represent mah team.

Well, the problem is, while semi and I have an idea about how we will get the bracket decided, we need those confirmations, because we need to know if those people are there for sure. I'm sure you will agree that it's worth a little wait than ending up waiting after the bracket is done because someone decided to go inactive a while back.

That being said, we're hoping to do the group selection on IRC, through the method semi suggested on page 1:

That being said, since CapO dropped out as the fourth seed we were thinking of slightly modifying the group selection.
Group A: 1st Seed -> 1st Pick -> 7th Pick -> 10th Pick
Group B: 2nd Seed -> 2nd Pick -> 8th Pick -> 11th Pick
Group C: 3rd Seed -> 3rd Pick -> 9th Pick -> 12th Pick

i'd suggest making the play schedule first (who faces who on what map), then deciding the order and time depending on what fits people.

The group stages will be a round robin. Each match will be a best out of three games. The map order will be as follows: games start with the map that is written by your match (check page six of this thread), next game the loser (of game one) chooses the map , and third game (if needed), loser (of game two) once again chooses the map.

By the way... if it comes down to a three way tie (such as is currently a possible outcome in group A) Wiz and I have previously decided that the higher game win percentage will determine who will advance. This will be to help avoid too long of a delay between group stages and the elimination matches.

I'm sure I could've taken the time to sit at my keyboard for 2 hours. I'm equally sure that my opponent could've taken the time to make some effort at contacting or responding to me. Due to various personal and work-related issues of late, I haven't played a game of Starcraft in over a month. I'm in no condition to put up any semblance of a watchable game against a member of LRM (who'd be the heavy favourite over me regardless of my form). I'm not just pulling out of the tournament because the going got tough. I'm recognizing a loss, and speeding things along a bit.

fonger confirmed me that he wont continue playing the tourney, he gave me wo. So now i've to play against Merz in final round i think.
P.D: Now that i remember, i didnt receive the trophy ^^(dont know who was the one that PM me asking for my adress).
