+ Show Spoiler +My goodness, the way he dominated SK game 1. Just bullied him with vultures in a "terrorist-esque" way I haven't seen since Fantasy, and his only real mistake being a loss of a vessel from trying repel micro.
Flash hasn't just caught up with the meta, he's already ahead of it.

yeah flash made soulkey look ridiculous

+ Show Spoiler +The second game was even more impressive imo. It looked like nothing special happened, Soulkey had just no answer to Flash’s build. Flash was miles ahead and i think he could have closed the game several times.
I don’t really know what mistake by Soulkey made. I assume he should have dived on the nat when Flash committed to attack his third? A bit of indecision there maybe?

Edited - SK probably should've defended his third better, let that lone vulture stall its setting up too much. But I think overall just a BO loss, 3 hatch muta can't keep up with CC first no bio goliath when you can't secure your third easily with sunken.

Those line ups are getting worse every day

Yeah Major Proleague hasn't been popular for about a year or so. The reason is a combination of 1. rise of SC university activities 2. rise of Chinese-sponsored ultimate battle (used to be 1v1, recently 2v2 format has become more popular, which takes away 4 top players from the pool) 3. progamers not bothering with competing at all (hello Bisu)
Other factors include the disappearance of Effort. But at least the K League is still going on fairly regularly.

re. SC university activities: is there anyone else who also don't get it why it's so popular as to overshadow Major Proleague? This phenomenon is rarely seen in other sports, e.g., football, basketball, etc.
If people want to watch girls, go watch fashion shows and movie / drama; if people want to watch SC, go watch Major Proleague. But watching girls playing subpar SC games, lol what's the point?

There will be a streamer WC3 tournament with 10k $$$ prizepool sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment going on soon. Same thing in chess and that whole PogChamps garbage that happened some time ago. Normies absolutely love that sort of stuff and watch it in droves. Unfortunate, but.. It is what it is.

Also bunch of holiday events in korea taking away time. I think we will see a return of more proleagues after SSL starts.

I think it's more or less that people want to follow whatever their favorite streamers are trying to do. Look no further than the viewers of Artosis. Half of them probably aren't BW fans.
In Korea it happens to be that your favorite streamers are playing the national esport, so it's like a win win situation for many viewers.
Personally I find the SC content quite entertaining. Yes the games are bad from a technical point of view. But then if you consider game quality, even BSL games are quite a joke compared to ASL, so why watch BSL anyway? Same principle applies here. People watch it for the subpar decision making of the girls which sometimes inadvertently create ridiculous game scenarios that makes their coaches want to gouge their eyes out, which is very entertaining.

I haven't watched a lot, but for me the value is more in the comments and reactions of the coaches. You can actually also learn a brunch of random things about the game, or sometimes even why they recommended a given build or what you d expect to see etc. Usually more in something not being there/on time like "yeah so she scouts this ans see no speedling, at this timing it means no muta" or whatever but then it is because the opponent is also bad

First proper Major Proleague in ages!
|
Some sub-tier1 Proleague activities in the past few days. Now that YSC has a dedicated channel to upload these VODs we basically got all Proleagues covered on Youtube I think, because he's mainly playing in K League. Also we're starting to call him Tulbo from now on, and call True as BTS too.
