BWCL season 57 starts this coming Sunday, September 25th at 19:00 CEST.
We still have 5 divisions for the BWCL itself and an extra MMR locked division called the Little league, with a MMR cap at 1650. Since ladder just reset, we may re-adjust that going forward.
Last season, Cwt) finally managed to win their first title, but the competition is getting ever stronger, so we are looking forward to an exciting new season.
The rules haven't changed much but on the map side of things, after several seasons of feedback and complains, we worked hard behind the scenes on a way forward and we decided to consult with the squad leaders in a series of polls over the summer to come up with our 1v1 map pool. This was before Blizzard released theirs for the new ladder season but thankfully we have a lot of overlap, and so does the ASL (which was a big inspiration).
As for the 2v2, the amazing team at Shield Battery was kind enough to provide us advance notice of their map pool and we selected 4 of those for this season so that every one can practice directly on Shield Battery to be ready for the CW.

DIVISIONS
The season will play out using the same setup as the previous seasons for google drive and lineups. We kept the format of 6 divisions but this time limited to 6 clans each, in order for all the playoffs to line up nicely. However, due to team reorganisations, we have a few divisions with only 5 clans from C to E. We looked at merging that to have only 4 divisions but the schedule was complicated due to Christmas and felt like this was the fairest way.
As usual, it will be 4 1v1 and 1 2v2, all of them BO3. Each BO3 win is +1 point, and winning the CW provides an additional point.

New Admins
We have slowly added to our numbers over the season, and we now work with other leagues too, but we are still always interested in new people, even if you have limited (or no) experience. We created a Junior Admin position a few seasons back to ease newcomers into the role, so don't be shy. It is less daunting that it may look, the rules are clear enough to be easily applied and the tricky cases are discussed collegially.
If you want to help out without being a league admin, other positions are also open. Most importantly:
- Anyone who wants to help with (written) coverage of the league
- Casters (experienced or not, S-Class or total newb, we support anyone)
- Translators for the Spanish community
- Optional: Translators for other (Russian, Polish, Portuguese)
- Any liquipedia help will be hugely appreciated as well
