Wins include Nada, Oov, and Skyhigh. Bisu over performs in the matchup at this stage historically.

JYJ won all the macro games, while all Bisu wins came off some sort of Nexus first build, plus the no-skill DT and too-op Carrier. To be fair, that’s because jyj basically instantly tapped out in bisu’s maps while bisu played it out on jyj’s maps.

Bisu good job win this asl congraulations win your last one win the rest of them win more than jaedong and flash combined. Protoss is stronger than zerg and terran combined.

Well are you saying that Light has a better TvsP than JyJ ?

Hold those tears for now fanboys, the old dog still has some bite left. :D

Awesome series, JYJ macro was crazy! Bisu had some uncharacteristic mine hits but we got to see some variety in PvT styles! DTs, arbs, Carriers, (failed) storm drops. Excited to see what he brings to Ro4.

Protoss good race xd just do 12nex, unstoppable build

Bisu looked sloppy. But then again, which Protoss plays solidly against Terran nowadays? I can think of only Rain (and maybe Snow).
JyJ played exceptionally well. Top-notch vulture harass and defence against drops. Any top Protoss would've similarly been made to look 'sloppy'. My guess is only Rain could've played cleaner than Bisu this season.
Yes, Bisu played below his KeSPA peak. But I don't think he played really that poorly considering the natural deterioration of mechanics that comes with age. Many other Protoss dragons put on far worse performances (mini, Best)..,

Easily.
Light beats Snow, Mini, Best on the regular..
JyJ is fantastic and for sure the third best Terran in the world but Light is another level.
Even after those bone-headed plays in his Ro8, Light is the top choice to win it all.
Bisu has to improve his level if he is to advance to the finals.

I think you overrate Lights TvP a bit. I think JyJ and Lights TvP are on a similiar level.
But it is all up to interpretation anyway obviously..

I can't believe Bisu let JyJ take 2 free bases on Monopoly when protoss had 2 extra bases, like why he didn't just recall on fresh 4th near main? The 2nd half of that game looked like Bisu was bleeding units.
He really got lucky with his 12 nexuses last games. Nevertheless Bisu is god! Well deserved.
He messed up his scout at 9oclock. After stopping the attack had he had an observer up there he would have seen JyJ going to establish the base and would have stopped it.
He also could have broke JyJ's 2 o'clock base when he counterattacked but was extremely sloppy. Left all his goons attacking a floating building and had he had some zealots in that shuttle he would have easily killed the high ground tanks and maybe have even won the game

Game 4 wasn't a straight 12 nexus; looked like he was going for it but then at about 250 mins he threw down a gate. Good decision, saved him the expo and probably the game/series

I would even say it was almost fantasy-like play, which is very impressive to see from JyJ. Pleasant series

Been catching recent ASL games. Man it has been fun

Just watched the matches and it was a really good series. Although I have to say I find it amusing that Scan had to blame the map in the final match when the previous match was played on Monopoly, which gives literally 0 options to engage vs mech, lol.

This tournament Jyj looked a lot more solid than Light tbh.

Yeah if you're really looking at this tournament alone Light doesn't look any more convincing than Bisu. He almost lost to Tyson in the first round ffs. Also lost to Bisu himself and Rain in straightforward manner, and just barely got past cheesy Mini. Then the series against Action in R8 is really questionable while we all know he should have steamrolled Action.
That said the longer the series goes the better Light becomes so he could be a different beast in R4. Light got his reputation as the player no one wants to pick due to his extremely dominant UBE series where everyone has to play full 9 games.

Do you guys think JyJ is reaching his peak. I was sad to see him go out against a less than optimal Bisu. Fantasy proved back in the day consistent TvP performance is possible without the Flash 14cc -> 3base -> big push style (which doesn't work as well in tournaments as it did in proleague). I think Light could have been pulled apart 3-0 on the right day with Fantasy-esque TvP.
Exciting times in BW in my opinion. Wish there was MSL and proleague to go along with ASL which is basically our OSL.Is a new generation of interest possible in BW as players burn out on other games? I believe it just has to be made fun enough for new people to play, 1v1 puts them off immensely It's good to see so many players, even Scan and Light, playing fastest, because anyone can join in and keep the games fun going, instead of just competition.

This was a really fun series. Above all, JyJ played like a champ. It was just unfortunate that spawns were cross in the last game. The first game and the constant dropship play was just great! As for Bisu, I think the games he won, he won in great fashion too. You get the zealot into dt goon followup on Eclipse, then the nice defense in game 4 then finally, Bisu defending what seemed to be a deadly push in the last game. The supplies were almost, if not, equal as well compared to what you usually see.
His macro was good overall and I liked his different approach each game, but I was a bit disappointed at how slow his reactions were. He made some sloppy mistakes too, which is uncharacteristic for him though that may be partially due to how well JyJ's execution has been this series. While I think he has a shot to win this ASL, he better practice hard because his remaining 2 opponents will not make things easy for him.
Congrats to Bisu! Hope JyJ manages to maintain his form for next season. I think he was definitely a championship contender with how solid he has been.

Even as a terran player, that Monopoly map is so so difficult for Protoss in PvT. Narrow paths, and easy enough for Terrans to take more bases with good building placement. I think JyJ demonstrated all this extremely well. Probably the thing that works in Protoss' advantage is how big the main is, so you have to decide where to place your turrets/mines against recall.
