Queen didn't commit an all-in, so the hydra bust served it purpose as it destroyed the gate and the core, and forced Snow to build a bunch of cannons, slowing down his tech and army . Meanwhile Queen was able to drone up and transition to midgame without any restrictions. What could have Snow done differently? Not much up to that point I think. After that maybe he could have multitasked like crazy with a storm/DT drop here and there, or whatever harassment tools Protoss has. I mean, you put Bisu on that position in the game and he could still lose as well. | ||

Things are looking quite dire for this race. That cancer map, Largo was a nail in the coffin. Why are these ASL mapmakers repeatedly handing out free wins to either Terran/Zerg by map selection in these tournaments. It's insane. | ||

It's ridiculous. That third is worse than maps from 15 years ago. | ||

That is if you can take 3rd nexus. To add that quote to Kiante, the "imba highground of imbalance" means protoss gets contained. There is no way to secure highground be it against lurkers or hydras. And with big main zerg can go mutas, drops whatever. And how can protoss stop zerg from expanding like crazy? Sorry for the rant, but this is yet again zergmaps for all the way, most likely even more zergmaps than asl 9. | ||

It certainly doesn't look good as sOrry and Light are both monsters in TvsP. I am not even sure if Rush would be an underdog against Mini. Also, Sk won 5-4 in a recent match against Mini. It remains to be seen, but its not going to be a walk in the Fort de Soto park for Mini. | ||

PvZ is horrible to watch sometimes watching P desperately hang on by a storm or 2 in the midgame. Mobility between bases makes P so vulnerable. Such a familiar situation - P on 2base about equal supply but unable to produce units as efficiently. This is why Mini tends to always turn around the aggression against Z (certainly worked against ZerO, consistently). | ||

For me the biggest (and the main) issue in PvZ is the early game before the first corsair reaches Zerg's main. In this period Zerg has absolute domination on the map with close to 0 trade off if they make a mistake. The combination of Protoss unable to scout properly in this period (I mean relying on probe micro is such a band aid which does not even work anymore in most of the games) and the nature of the match where if Protoss makes a mistake in this period he is just dead (or behind enough to die few minutes later, but mostly just dead) creates the biggest disparity in BW imo. Both of these things may happen separately in the other match ups, even in PvZ in other stages of the game, but its always one or the other, either scouting is shut down, but a misstep doesnt lose you the game or it can but you can scout what is coming. Nowadays, Zergs became even more precise in abusing this stage, so Protoss either dies or often cannot get into midgame having the attacker advantage they are supposed to have in the next phase. So, they have a very short timing to use it to gain an advantage or win the game | ||
