and seriously stop fucking whining you guys. Maybe Skew isn't the greatest player, and the top top tier players are better than him ... but everyone except Mondragon, Draco, etc... Skew can definitely hold his own against any other foreigner. Their decision to want to invite an American, as Testie said (or was it Idra??) was probably due to time constraints... the event is less than a week away, and the final player list was only decided two days ago. To get a European to come over at this stage would be very difficult, because you need to consider they would need visa's, passports, etc... and you don't know who has them and who doesn't, and it can be a hectic and time consuming process. Inviting an American was the most logical choice... and Skew is about as good as any other top American ... Testie was the best player that could actually go (since Mondi didnt want to.. and Draco / Sen are MIA) ... so that was another obvious choice. So, stop bitching, and wish them luck against the Koreans. They will both lose, but let's hope for 1-2 good games from them, and some fun times.

And maybe I should tell you too because you don't seem to understand what it means that this is the internet. You don't whine about getting insulted. But people are just plain rude and blunt through the internet because they can act like they aren't communicating with people. Therefore you call people upon their responsibility. If they can't be responsible you ban them. So yes, maybe Rekrul should be banned. But let's just wait and see if he apologizes to Irda and Testie.

You don't call people fags. Hey, maybe I am gay. It's not an insult. Secondly, what is so stupid about me? I can't remember anything I ever said on this forum that can be interpreted as controversial. Maybe you have me confused with someone else? And while I did find a few of oshibori_probe's annoying I don't see why this justified the label you put on it.

I'm just disappointed that Blizz seemed to have held off inviting players until the last week. Everything up to even the brackets seem to be rushed, the foreigners are placed together, meaning they'll knock each other out instead of getting a chance at playing against the Koreans twice. It's like Blizz forgot they were even holding a SC tournament until just a couple days ago.

I don't really know skew. From what I've seen of testie, he's rather.. strongly opinionated, but at least he's put his maphacking behind him, and he seems like a nice enough guy. Rekrul and testie have something of a history though. so it's pretty commonplace -.- P.S. what do you have against Christians?

also, walking into tl when you're a relatively new poster and orating about morals, good behaviour, and campaigning for a mod to get banned is a bit risky don't you think?

Then look for the source of homophobia. It's the Abrahamic religion.

I can say fag and faggot even in real life, doesn't make me a homophobe. I have met gay people, have 2 friends who are gay, and have a cousin that's lesbian... and I find nothing wrong with them at all... But I can still use the word fag from time to time if I feel like it, because I don't believe that I have to carefully monitor everything I say with a Political-Correctness radar. Words are, especially when just thrown around in casual conversation and on the internet, just words. If you are looking for correctness in speech, or try to make conjectures about people's personal beliefs or opinions based on specific words people choose to say, then you can have fun being wrong a lot of the time, because I can bet that most people don't give a lot of thought to what they say when they're just chatting as you apparently do. Btw, Rekrul isn't getting banned from TL.net ever... he is the one that does the banning, because he's an admin here and everyone <3 Rekrul

Btw, Rekrul isn't getting banned from TL.net ever... he is the one that does the banning, because he's an admin here and everyone <3 Rekrul While I obviously don't condone the silly way that Prometheus is handling himself, I do think that this is sort of bogus. Forget political correctness, and forget the legitimate reasons why using that language is damaging for causes related to gay people (which, at least here in America, still have a ways to go). Using "fag" as a derogatory term just locates you in a childish, uneducated segment of society, whether that be virtue of your age or situation. Words are just words, sure, and I don't believe that most people who say "fag" all the time have some sort of deep-seeded hatred of gay people. But in the adult world, people will immediately pick you out as ignorant if you say such things, not because you are necessarily hateful, but because you clearly don't understand how it resonates. It's clearly impossible to argue that using faggot as a synonym for deplorable, ugly, annoying, or stupid person is neutral in it's expression of an ideology about gay people. Even if you're unaware (willingly or unwillingly) of that fact has little bearing on how it reads to most of the population. Again, I don't think rekrul is doing anything worth mentioning, and I certainly wouldn't bring it up. I think that the word has permeated to the point that it can be used casually without malicious intent. But don't think that it's somehow a defensible part of your vocabulary just because it's a battle most people don't want to fight or are tired of fighting.

im sure every one of you who uses "fag" to mean "fucking moron" has an anecdote about the gazillions of gay friends they have, but, again, that doesn't make it acceptable
