Can you please release the replays of HAY50? Not sure if past HAY replays are released, but would be nice to get the replay pack of this one with this many Koreans playing in it.

Rough rough, so laggy that I got to watch Koget kill me in slow-motion.

I forgot just how much it hurts to get punched by one of these guys.

Thanks for the event - SchAmToo!
Now I get to watch.

Great tournament! Wish i could participated
But not sure what is the point to let koreans play in foreigner tours?
They are way to strong for foreigner scene..

yeah well.. I also don't really know what is the point of this.. but this topic has been done to death already

some people just really like to watch this kind of stuff for some reason

the biggest shame in this is that the korean scene is healthy as it is and it really does not need more tournaments and money pumped into it..

the foreign scene on the other hand.. yeah, we could use some of it for sure.

Well.. thanks for hosting anyways. Cheers

nice tournament, fun to watch high level players, but lag in semi finals was a bit much. players played on tr12 with live casted games. I think it's clear that this tournament setup has a lot of downsides to it. (not casting from replays, players from any region + casters in the same game etc.)

If the TO prefers laggy games with korean players over foreign players, nothing you can do.

I really enjoyed the parts I got to see. Nice job. I get the impression that some foreigners were excited just to have a chance to play against really, really great players. I get that.

Looking through the bracket, these matchups look interesting. Did you cast these?

Kwark v. Dewalt, trutacz v noob, and Grail v. Scan.

Don't feel bad about the lag. It's your tourney. The players are on your turf.

If you end up going big for HAY100 and get a stacked lineup full of Korean pros, then for that one tourney I like the idea one of you mentioned of having a Korean obs (but you still cast). Especially by the time it gets to the Ro8 or Ro4. And for those later rounds it's a bit later in the day in Korea so that'll help you find someone willing to help out.

Congrats on pulling this off!

As spectator it was a great tourney to watch.I never seen so many progamers in a foreigner tourney. It was great to see how Rush smashed YSC so effortless. ths is proly the most skilled HAY played to date.

Things that can be improved imo :
Schamtoo organized 50 tourneys or more but still wants to cast games on Turn rate 12. in some cases TR12 high. that is like playing in TR8.
ample vs best is one of them. Latency sometimes changes from player to player some games were casted in TR24 high that is TR16 low.

to fix all this issues there is no other way around that casting from replays. especially when there is the formule of Korea Peru USA.if the tourney was played by koreans only is actually very easy cuz u could a find a kor obs and cast from his perspective and players could play TR24 low.

sad note: Not soma games wtf :/

I watched Kwark vs Dewalt on his stream. Kwark was with the mindset that there would be no way to win in a straight up game, so there were 2 cheeses in the first 2 games (the first of which worked). For some reason I cant really recall game 3 o.O

Didnt watch the other 2 you mention on schamtoo stream but maybe I just missed them.

Edit: to the above people complaining about better competition, that brings viewers. This was the first time I watched HAY because there were a ton of good players. As much as I respect foreigners and their efforts and as much as I watch their streams from time to time, its just not the same. IMHO, to foreign players, this was a great chance for both being in a casted tournament with more viewers than usual (just guessing), and also to play against some good korean players in a tournament setting.

I just put a prizepool up and whoever plays plays. I don't really have an agenda or any narrative other than, I'm a caster, I like casting good games.

Yes, I think I have a plan for this in the future that will hopefully remove the lag. it may be slightly worse for the viewers in terms of quality but I really do care for the players experience.

Again, there's only a preference for good games. If it's 2 people who sign up or 1000, I'm happy to cast anyone who shows up.

Thank you for the kind words. You are entirely right that a lot of players really just wanted to see how they stacked up against ASL players. I got many messages about that.

Biggest issues:
  • Players lagging when obs is there. Replays are... not great. The interface SUCKS and provides too much information. On tournament side: first, many TO websites don't force people to put in replays or validate the file is a replay and a lot of players will put in 0 effort to hand off the replays or avoid it all together when asked. Earlier HAY tournaments I asked for all players to email replays. No one reads rules. So my choices are cast in game or not. Right now I'm planning on seeing if i can get players in korea to obs for korean games and share screen on discord.
  • Massive admin problem at 78+ participants This is difficult to handle. No TO website is simple enough but with enough rulesets to handle all languages + the slight complexities i like. Challonge is a pain for a lot of reasons (but i havent check them out in a while). Battlefy sucks but gets the job done. Smash.gg requires SO MUCH WORK per tournament. I tried to send a tip $ to my tournament admins T_T thank you Fuji and Slurmy
  • Korean players are "too good". Simply, yes they are very good. I don't really want to have to figure out who's player from korea or not. Again, people can lie and smurf. If the money is too big, people will work around where they can. Cruiser went out of his way to ask these players and they were very nice and made great games. I am very happy to have an opportunity to cast Rush, Ample, Spire, Shine and YSC live. Machine was so happy to do so too. I am also happy to cast foreigners. I have no agenda and I don't really have a goal to "ruin the foreign scene". Most foreigners like my tournaments. Some don't. I just do what I like, and try to do the best for whoever is in my tournament, no matter where from.
