All right! So the round of the sweet 16 is finally over! Because of the youth of this league, a few adjustments and exceptions had to be made. I'll explain later on, but first of all, let's get it on with the initial results!

In)Spire vs beseiger.cry --> 2-0 In)Spire advances

Seraphim vs Cyrax --> 0-2 Cyrax advances

Grazze vs Stack --> 2-0 2-0 Grazze advances

PianO vs CapO --> 0-2 CapO advances

Controversial matches
Oshibori vs yubee
XDawn vs taCat

Alright, so here's the juicy story. So first of all, I as a manager, am a stickler for activity. Activity is drives an event, such a tournament. Activity is what allows people to have fun. Without it, some things just become, "omg wtf come on." All in all, I'm a huge advocate for activity and a hater for no-shows.

First thing - tacat has left for China. XDawn has no one to play with. I decide to give him the free win and call it good. Once isn't too bad, i thought. However, things started getting awkward when both Oshibori and yubee failed to check in and play their matches. I didn't know what to do, for both players didn't deserve to advance. Meanwhile, I was recently eliminated by Cyrax and zxk3 was recently eliminated by Arcology. Upon hearing the news that taCat wasn't going to be able to play, zxk3 wanted a second chance and replace tacat's spot. zxk3's constant activity on hamachi and in this tournament led me to conclude that out of almost anybody else, he deserved the spot. Also, letting him have the spot will allow more games, which is why I started this tournament in the first place. Now, for the Oshibori vs yubee match, I did something fairly controversial, but hopefully not too many people would be mad about it. I took their spot completely. I basically said, I am the winner between the match of Oshibori and yubee. Later, Oshibori PMed describing his technical problems and I conceded. We agreed that yubee was afk, and that we would play a bo3 to determine the spot. I won, but soon after, XDawn reported to me that he will not be able to play vs zxk3. After hearing this, I decided to make a match between Oshibori and zxk3 for the last spot. zxk3 took the match 2-1 and concluded the Round of 16.

Seraphim vs Oshibori 2-1 Seraphim advances
zxk3 vs Oshibori 2-1 zxk3 advances

Results of who has advanced to the Elite 8

In)Spire
Cyrax
Grazze
Arcology
Asyohl
CapO
Seraphim
zxk3

Great job and congratulations to everyone!

________________________________________________________

Ok, no-shows are really starting to bug me, so i will settle is once and for all. taCat will be replaced by zxk3, even though he was eliminated by Arcology, his admirable activity has allowed him a second chance in this tourney. As for oshibori and yubee, none of them have showed up for their games. So i will take their spot. (Hopefully, that doesn't seem too unfair to some of you)

zxk3 vs XDawn and beseiger vs In)Spire will be due by July 24th

Gl hf to both players

Results of the Group Stages

So to very honest, I'm very disappointed. Pretty much 50% of the attendees were no-shows. This puts me at a very awkward position. I will have to let some people move on to the next stage because of their activity, regardless of their scores. Also, qualifiers will probably be held to avoid a situation like this. Lastly, some semi-active people were randomly chosen to go to the next round (those who didn't play all their games), and some semi-active people were chosen to be kicked. I know this may not seem fair, however, your inactivity is not fair to me, the other managers, or the other people in this tournament. So bite me if you're not happy. The following is what I've decided. However, big thanks to those who were active and played their games. Note: some of the decisions were based off a site a that generated random sequences that gave me some of these results. Therefore, the inactive recieved some rock, paper, and scissors chances of staying in this tourney.

And this will happen after the group stages are done

+ Show Spoiler +

3rd places get the wildcard, 4th places are out.
If there is a tie, whoever won between 3rd and 4th will seperate them. In the case of 3 people tieing eachother, map list probably goes.

Game 1 - Python, Game 2 - Nemesis, Game 3 - Ride of Valkyries, rinse and repeat on a different set of maps until a winner is found 2-0.

For the wildcards, 2 Groups.

Group A will be
Group A 3rd, Group C 3rd, Group E 3rd
A vs C will be Longinus, C vs E will be Nemesis, E vs A will be Python. Rotate until there is a winner.

While Group B will be
Group B 3rd, Group D 3rd, Group F 3rd.
A vs C will be Ride of Valkyries, C vs E will be Longinus, E vs A will be Nemesis. As before, Rotate until there is a winner.

For the Round of 16 elimination, Bo3....
Group A 1st vs Wildcard, Group B 1st vs Group A 2nd, Group C 1st vs Group D 2nd, Group D 1st vs Group C 2nd, Group E 1st vs Group F 2nd, Group F 1st vs Wildcard, and Group E 2nd vs Group A 2nd.

So,

1st Ro16 Game

2nd

3rd

RULES

Here's the problem

The hardest thing about this tournament is that some people live half the way around the world from another. Therefore, each group can decide within themselves when a suitable time would be for them. Each "game session" (when tourney games) will be 3 days long. Which means, tourney games can only be played within this time slot, and any game played earlier or later doesn't count. Games played later will be counted as illegitimate and the players will be disqualified. Three days is plenty of time for anyone to find a right time with his/her opponents and play the games.

It doesn't even have to be all at once. For example: Player A could play with Player B on the first day of the game session. Player C and Player D could even play on the next day. Whatever works.

After playing a game, send all replays to AzN.Karma@gmail.com, and I'll take care of it.

Group Game Rules

If you are unfamiliar with the OSL Group format, I'll give you a quick rundown of how it works. Each player plays the other three in a bo1 against each one of them. The two players with the highest scores will advance. Tie-breakers are done if necessary.

That's the OSL. This is the HSL. I think, to make more games possible, bo1's are really counter-intuitive. To make more games, bo3s, instead of bo1s will be held. For example, in the OSL, one would need to play 3-0 to get a perfect score in his group. However, perfectly, one would need a 6-0 score (2-0 for each game) I hope this makes sense. Hopefully you won't lose all your games within your group and get a 0-6. Anyway, I hope these rules are good and allow the HSL to begin .

Game Rules]
Here are the gameplay rules:
Forbidden to use:

1 Flying drones and templars
2 Terran sliding buildings
3 Stacked units attack (for example when a bug is done so that SCVs can attack while stacked, usually to destroy a nexus)
4 Allied mines
5 Stacked worker attack (clicking on mineral)

Allowed to use:

1 Plague on interceptor
2 Units pressed through
3 drops to defuse mines
4 Mineral walk
5 Manner Pylon
6 Lurker hold position
7 Obs on turret

Past News

Ok, I'm a douchebag. In the excitement of this, my retarded brain forgot that I have a camp all week next week. I was thinking we could play a stage this week, take a break next week, and resume from there. Or we could practice two weeks and start the tourney from there. However, that'd be incredibly selfish of me, so i will make a poll. PLEASE JUST TOURNEY PLAYERS AND MANAGERS VOTE.

Poll: Should we delay the tourney for a little bit?
(Vote): Yes, we need the prep/practice timeanyway, and let's give Seraphim a little leeway
(Vote): Screw Sera, disqualify him and resume the tourney from there
(Vote): Play a stage this week, have a delay, and resume

Probe and I took every opinion and weighed them carefully. We hope you are satisfied with the maps. Deepest apologies if this was unsatisfactory.

A Note From Probe:
btw If you are random or zerg or just 2 different races, once the maps are announced you must say what you are playing by the map. Thus your opponent can prepare.

if anyone who does not have lag issues wants to do any sort of coverage please contact me or sera, rules still havent be decided.
