Wait this is happening so early for NA. Why the time change? Not that I'm going to complain I can actually watch this after Thanksgiving dinner but this is new.
Rain has the edge, but Light is a different player today than he’s ever been. Never thought I’d believe in Light in a TvP series. Hope Light finally gets one after all these years!
Gonna cheer for Light too although chances are low.
Woongjin fighting!
Why is it on Friday evening KST? Will they make it happen that Nexus arena won't be full for a major tourney finals? Hope not, would sour the event for me regardless of match quality to be honest
Every time I watch Light play TvP against top players (Best, Snow, etc), it seems when he does win he's way behind, and then makes a few extremely efficient trades, grabs a 4th base, and then somehow turns the tides. That simply does not seem possible against Rain.
He's still a live dog because it's likely Rain's weakest matchup, but I don't like his chances here. Sportsbooks think Rain is roughly 72% to win, but that seems low to me in a bo7. Think we are looking at a 4-1 match.
Really not sure about this one.. Could go either way. If Rain goes for a funky cheese in the first or 2nd map, (like he always does in a BO offline),I feel like it could give an early adantage to Light who is probably the worst terran on the planet to cheese. Well see, should be fun
I'm gonna make the wild prediction of Light winning 4-3, his wins being on CB, Block Chain, and Eddy... and his fourth win from pulling SCVs vs a nexus first.

I was super happy to see Light even make a finals finally since he's been one of my favorite players for about 11 years at this point, but I thought he would just get destroyed.
I don't know if he'll win, but he's not getting destroyed.

honestly after years of watching him play meme tier TvP(look at game 1) its amazing to see him get here now.

I don't think he even played that badly game 1, he was just half a step behind at all times from the opening. The no turrets was really strange but other than that I thought he played fine.

Uhh no, his lategame PvT pretty much always looks like this LOL
Aw, Light, what a player - becomes Flash's student, learns and makes himself into a TvP expert, smashes Rain convincingly in a KSL final. Amazing achievement, well deserved for him,

Flash's destroyed wrists were no longer worthy of hosting the gosu spirit, it had to find a new vessel which it found with light.
Sad to see Rain lose but man Light looked like an absolute monster. Everything was on point and he 100% deserved this victory. I was honestly pretty disappointed to hear no Last/Bisu entering the tourny, but this KSL was actually my 2nd most favorite league to watch (behind ASL6). We may have missed a few of the top players, but the games starting from RO8 were really fun to watch.
This was probably the best finals since Effort v Flash and best PvT finals since ???? Jangbi's wins?
Man, I'm so happy for light he has been my favourite from MBC and then the bright shining ace of Woongjin, always super sloppy and he finally overcame his weakness. Games 3, 4, 5, 6 were all pretty amazing, my jaw dropped couple of times I thought it's Fantasy not Light playing.
It really made me so happy to see LIght that composed and confident. He really does did have the necessary skill-set for a long time, but maybe never believed in himself enough.. Just wonderful !!! And all the games were interesting and edgy... best finals I've seen in a long long time
So happy for Light! Ive always considered him in the top 3 TvZ since 2007-2008, but wasnt ever impressed by his TvP.. but the last time I saw him play TvP a few months ago, I was legit surprised and told to myself damn Light fixed his TvP! So I had faith for him in this final, he definitely delivered. GGs!
Is rains macro pvt weak? Feel like rain should be a little disappointed given how high his level can be. His opponent wanted it though, really wanted it. You could see.

Really? How did Rain trashtalk Light?
Something along the lines of "I'll send you crying to your mommy", iirc.

Maybe Rain was so sure to win all Matchpoint, Overwatch and Blockchain and was not prepared to play full bo7. Games 5 and 6 felt sloppy from Rains part compared how well he played earlier in tournament or comparing his se is against Last in ASL.
Really pleased for Light I was suporting him but some how ended up feeling dissapointed in Rain. Pretty good series but it felt like Rain caved a bit in that last game. Anyway great to take a lazy Saturday and catch up with the Starcraft.
KSL really need to consider the future format of this tournment. Too many games in too shorter period for me.
Such an amazing finale Soooo happy for Light :D Very good cast as usual by Nick&Dan! Thanks alot :D Love Artosis "YES HE KILLED A CARRIER" moment..he really lived that game lol
Ok so yeah Brood War really is the best game ever made, nothing else can interest me the way bw does.

Late to post but super happy for Light. He's been playing fantastically lately and kept his cool in the finals and finally won himself a trophy after so many long hard years of playing. Congrats Light! Glad the finals were generally pretty fun and interesting games too
Never really liked Light that much but have to say he won my sympathies here. A great story arc with Rain making himself the villain with all that thrash talk and boasting how he didn't even train much. They both made this one of the more memorable finals.
Just watched the finals, wow so happy for Light and really impressed at the same time. His decision making and macro were really on point the whole series. He was always known for his weak TvP but I don't think we can say that anymore.
Wow, this was an amazing finals and was beyond my wildest expectations. To see Light actually play TvP quite competently was an unforgettable experience haha. But seriously, if anyone told me that Light would beat Rain 4-2 in a finals no less, I would've thought it was a joke. That eddy game felt like it was Flash playing with the way he expanded behind his pushes, but kept engaging and pulling back in time. Even his first game on MP wasn't too bad aside from the turret placement (think he had like 1 outside the range of the drop).
The FS game where he pounched on the opportunity presented to his by Rain's micro and that goon getting stuck briefly was as impressive and helped change the game dramatically. Has Light's TvP gotten that much better? In the last game, he was 2/2 to Rain's 1/0/0 then 3/2 to 2/0/0 and had such a nice strat too with the proxy fac. If it wasn't for that dt drop, he would've crushed Rain. Thankfully, Rain tried to plow his units at the third twice before he learned that he shouldn't haha, but Light's gameplay overall this series, aside from minor blunders, was superb and commendable.

It did help me avoid getting spoiled as I’d forgotten this was on, which was nice of the site to do although I’m unsure how they knew this was the case.

Just watched the final. Apart from light playing amazing you have game 5 and thats how a bug can decide a finals in a game called itself remastered version... pfff what a joke. Didnt had any idea to comment or whine but seriously, what is this shit? its been 22 years since the game is on and its a "remastered" version they cannot fix bugs like this? how about reaver bug close to some ramps where it dont want to shoot? Remember a game by mini that was decided by this bug. Why these bugs are not fixed, and why all of them are on the weakest race, or should i say the least versatile and most punishing race when it comes to buildorder fails? does they dont know a reaver is cruicial, and goon in 1 on 1 situation like in game 5 is cruicial and no bugs are allowed? what a jerk devs.
On January 07 2020 10:30 Aminus wrote: its been 22 years since the game is on and its a "remastered" version they cannot fix bugs like this?
Of course they can fix bugs like those of the dragoon and the reaver. But by now to the common viewer the things with how a unit behaves do not seem like bugs but more like parts of the gameplay that require mastering and skill, they add to the overall excitement. I think so at least. Look at the flying units stacking - it is a bug, in was not intended but someone discovered it along the way and it is mastered and understood to unrivaled depths. Should they fix that as well? I guess you would say no, would you? Without it how are modern zergs supposed to win a ZvT? The developers claimed no gameplay related changes and so far they are true to their word. Also, Rain himself has not (to my knowledge at least, tell me if I am wrong for I do not want to be willingly deprived of truth) stated he is mad about his loss due to this bug. But why would you advocate changing the game on the grounds that it is 22 year old game, what does that age have to do with anything? Are you the only one who is indignant of this bug? Hardly so, I am sure. But why are you so vocal about it, I dare not suppose. Can't you find the will to just enjoy the game as it is? If you can't - feel free to complain, see what good this will do to you.
Il just say some things about bugs for anyone interested. Bugs were appearing so the game got patched and these bugs removed. With new patches sometimes a new bug was appearing which was removed at the next patch. Thats why the game got patched after balance patches was no more. 1.16.1 version introduced dragoon stuck bug which wasnt fixed since blizzard sort of abandoned the game support by that time. By the way of logic that bug shouldve been gone in the so called "remastered" version. Blizzard didnt removed the bug because their policy is clearly not about quality. Remastered shouldve smoothen up the gameplay as much as possible. They decided to not touch game, because it will change the gameplay possibly leading to imbalance or something in pro level, which was not supported by any tests or facts and which is by my oppinion very debatable. Leaving bugs that shouldve been removed decide pro games seems like more solid decision by their logic. During that time there were many broodwar purists who were crying literally this - " do not touch our perfect game, we dont care what can be improved and we dont care for the new players" regarding to unit pathfinding and improved interface or anything that can be changed, reminded me of caveman refused to go out of their way of existence, but thats a different story. That gave blizzard green light for their unpolished work. Since no evedience or tests were made with improved unit ai or modernised interface about balance or imbalance, which wouldve bring more players to the game and definitely raise the quality of spectators experience i cannot believe a thing about pro level bullshit or anything. Put simply they told us the story of classic and perfect game and got a lazy reskin without removing the cruical dragoon bug from 1.16.1. What happened after remastered release? Ugly reskin that soon got replaced by which we now see as the standart skin for KSL and ASL. Lots of lag and ladder bug issues, on which they were working time after release. So Blizzard released unfinished game and called it remastered version.
