cool to have a "tight schedule" dreamhack esque tourney for BW once. though the "rest" advantage for the group winners are significant. and on paper all the group winners have a signifcant matchup/ability advantage too, so i predict lopsided results in favor for all of them.(soma to thrash best too)

4 bo5's is what they've been doing per day. Anyone know what the rush is? They're finishing the whole tour in <1 month.

zero 3-1 mini. I love mini but he has extremely high variance. Zero is just a monster right now in zvp. Literally looks unstoppable (more so than zergs usually do :D

Rain 3-1 Snow. Rain has never lost a pvp series and I don't see why he would. BUT, snow is on a roll lately. consistently been #2 in sponsored games elo behind flash for a while now. meanwhile Rain has being played league and WoW, but it hasn't seemed to affect his offline play.

Soma 3-2 Best. Ask me last week and I pick best. This is both their worst mu, but soma has been doing well in zvp finally.

Light 3-1 Mind. Don't know Mind's current state but he's better than ForGG so he'll at least put up a fight. Light ofc has looked great since he came back from his brief protoss flirtation.

Looks like a fun Ro8, too bad they are being played so quickly though. I don't expect the quality of play to be that high if half of the players only have a day to prepare for their match :\

I like Rain but literally everyone else winning would make for a better story; apart of him and Mind(who would go for ASL+KSL), none of the players in this ro8 has ever won one offline Starleague. Many of them have at least a silver(or multiple ones)!

Absolutely agree. Mini and Snow have both been runner up twice (and Snow's defeated the defending champions I think three different times now), I'd love to see either of them. Light and Mind, both good Terran players but never the best, the new/returning zergs, etc.

I didn't watch sacsri vs best yesterday, but the score was 3-2. I surely know that soma's ZvP is significantly better than most of the zerg so I have a strong feeling that soma will take down best 3-0 or 3-1.

Yeh I have a good feeling about Soma today.

That being said, Sacsri yesterday showed that his mid-late zerg gameplay is really impressive. It's been a while since I've seen zerg macro that well in an offline game, excited to see how he looks next season.

I'll go for Zero, Rain, Soma, Light

Soma never got a pro-gaming license or was part of a team house, right? So him making the Ro8 in a starleague makes him the first amateur to do so since like, ever right? Unless you count the SSL maybe?

SOMA is putting forth a tremendous EffOrt. He's showing a Killer instinct and an ability to remain Calm in the Action. I don't know Where he came from but this could be his time to Shine. Considering there's only been 1 zerg champion of all the ASLs and KSLs could this new herO be the sAviOr of the zerg race? Larva.

lol at the Larva appendix. Zer0 is missing there, though.

Mini vs zero is a great series.

Zero waited for the perfect opportunity (when the toss army crossed this high ground middle base) to clear all mini's HT with his hidden muta control group.

Zero was awesome today and mini was unlucky to face him because his play was also top notch, I feel he would have qualified against anyone else today.

I did the same but I am actually happy that Zero made it since he has a better chance against Rain than Mini does.

Holy shit the pacing of this tournament is a mess.

I was just ready to watch the final matches of Round of 16 and get hyped for the Round of 8... so Round of 8 is already over by the next day?

It's probably a budget thing where doing all matches the same day is more cost efficient, but it's very difficult to get excited and pumped about the KSL when everything feels so rushed.

This was a wonderful round of 8. Both players and casters were brilliant. This is a solid round of 4 were I think anyone can win. It's hard to say Rain is a clear favorite with two zergs in it still.

Rain will win his semi final since it’s PvZ. And the final will either be PvZ again, i.e. Rain wins automatically, or PvT. And I can’t imagine Light taking a series over Rain either. So basically Rain already won the finals.

Rain has very questionable PvZ against two solid ZvP players. I think he has the hardest road if it is two zergs. Light has the best chance of anyone by facing two zergs.

Damn some good series from the Ro8, mini vs zero was insane, really too bad mini couldn't be in the semis.Semis look great though and as long as it isn't zvz the finals should be sick as well.

Yeah, if Mini couldn't win vs. Zero I really doubt Rain can. While I'm sad to see Mini go, I'm glad Rain can't PvP his way to the trophy again.

Did you confuse Rain's PvZ for his PvP?

Well, I would not call Rain's PvZ "questionable"; it's most likely his weakest matchup, on the other hand.
Rain is untouchable in PvP, he has a good PvT(worse than Snow's and Best's, his sponmatches record against Light is negative as far as I know) and a very unreliable PvZ that can be either great or disappointing.

Light vs Zero is the final I would personally like to see and I'd give it decent odds to take place.

Rain should win against ZerO, 4-2
But SoMa against Light i truly have no idea,
SoMa is on a 9 wins streak on stage, looks pretty scary

Rain’s PvZ is suspect vs the good zergs and Zero is very good in the matchup. I think Rain loses. Soma vs light is a tossup. Both in good form atm.

Questionable literally means " a very unreliable PvZ that can be either great or disappointing" to me lol. So we are in agreement! :D If you have a better single word for that definition, I'll use that in the future.

This KSL is such a mess. Barely watched some of ro16, couldn't find any VODs and now ro8 is over? -_- ...

Rain will win his semi final since it’s PvZ. And the final will either be PvZ again, i.e. Rain wins automatically, or PvT. And I can’t imagine Light taking a series over Rain either. So basically Rain already won the finals.

Did you confuse Rain's PvZ for his PvP?

Maybe I did O_O
Or I confused him with Bisu lol

Light, Soma and Zero all have a decent shot at the title. Better than Rain imo. This is a pretty funny situation.

We’ve been getting some great games. little sad crowd doesn’t match the games.

Nice ro8, so many good games. Good marathon-casting from Tastosis as well! Best series for me was Mini vs Zero'games. And even though Rain is awesome I'm hoping for a Zero vs Light finals. But I'm not sure Zero can take this in a bo7. Rain is just so solid! GG's

Mini vs Zero was fantastic series, though Mini was a little unlucky. I love watching Mini's pvz, and it was high level play from both sides.

And I'm surprised nobody mentioned the games Soma played. That guy just reinvented zvp and it's like nobody noticed!

For the semis, Zero will 4-0 Rain, no question about that.
But Soma vs Light, I would say Soma has 60% chance to win. Unfortunately that means we will get zvz finals.

I believe it is because Soma's build are based off Zero's strategies. And he has been practicing them a ton versus Bisu. He is more impressive in the same way Fantasy plays Terran. He can take a strategy from someone, master, and execute it brilliantly.

I'll dig around later, but here's the thread discussing Zero's new style: https://tl.net/forum/bw-strategy/550622-zvp-zeros-new-9734-build

According to sponbbang, light is 23-8 vs Soma since October. I think soma seems to be on a hot streak - he's definitely got some fire in him - but light is the heavy favorite unless he chokes big time IMO.

You guys should all be happy Zero didn't choke against Hyuk the second time or we would've had another string of Rain PvPs. Unless we assume Hyuk would've had a chance vs Mini, had he qualified.

I REEEEEEALLY hope Rain doesn't win that one. With all the potential for great stories this KSL that would be somewhat anticlimactic. The tournament feels rushed anyway, no need to feel even more routine.
