Well, you had all but one player outside korea. This one obviously was the strongest and took 350$ prize. Think about who came to play, rival, and who came to just pick up some easy money, and what is the impact of that for your future player base. :-)

Thanks for the tour anyway, you are doing great things for the scene nevertheless.

BTW. Zealot even qualified for ASL7 from the most difficult qualifier to put things in the perspective.

Having koreans at tournaments is ok, IMO. It is great way practice against them, like we have it on HAY. Just splitting the prizepool between top4 would make it more attractive for everyone. Of course, it might make more koreans to come, but in order to make it to the money spots we can get them sooner or later.

kogeT, so your point is in justification of your skill gap by a ban of a stronger.

There are stronger on the foreigner scene than me. But there are no people on foreign scene that can compete with ASL level players, period.

Its your money, your tournament, I have no means nor intention to change your mind, just speaking up. If the idea is to match foreigners vs pros, that can be handled by donating 100 balloons on their stream (as I did few times with immediate success). If the intention is to give more motivation to foreign scene, I stick to my argument. :-)

Tournaments with Koranians do not make sense. Look at the BSL, which has the audience.

Maybe make every second tournament a 'no koreans allowed' tournament? I'd personally prefer the 'no koreans' tournies (they are plenty of kor tournies / stuff already), but this way you can satisfy both groups?

Wow the manners, lol. My point was to create a perspective. If Brain wants to maximize the number of attendents / viewership then it's better to exclude koreans. If he wants to send money to korea and see foreigners getting crushed by koreans with limited players and viewers pool, he can surely keep the format as it is.

kogeT, I am bound with hard rules and guidelines, instead of mood or a current set of mind. Only a hard rules discipline makes long-term achievements possible. One of the stepping stone is a "fair competition" rule. Regardless of whose money are in place, the sanctioned competition is not a fair one.

Although you may argue that allowing a stronger player result in exactly the opposite, I believe that the "fair competition" is one with neither unfair advantages nor restrictions. A ban of a nation is an unfair restriction, if not Nazism, albeit Koreans are indeed by far stronger than any other players.

Many of top-tier players, like Eon, Dewalt, Cryoc, g0rynich, and yourself to name a few, made a one-out-of-10 win against top-tier pros and shared such replays. Such games often exposed weird strategies, and a Bo1 tournament encourages the same.

There was nothing abnormal in your particular defeat against ZeloT. Your early bunkering attempt may have been scouted by any other zerg as well. To the contrary, a standard play against a 9pool would result in an advantage, enough to hope for a one-out-of-10 chance.

I am sorry to hear you will forfeit the tournament, as your participation makes a difference, of course. Yet, I believe that a 2-hours long tournament makes no difference in your practice schedule, considering that a 3-hours long correspondence in this thread did not.
