Watching him seemingly confused as to whether he was going to respond to the surprise DT, for instance, by having a couple dragoons in his base, his probes scattering but making themselves available to be killed, while he has another group of units going into the middle of the map accomplishing absolutely nothing was aggravating. Nevermind the fact that he got a robo in the first place made playing safe easy to begin with, which he failed to do. Players like him make me miss when players like Stork, Bisu, or Nal_Ra (among many others) were at the top of their game, where you didn't just respect their talent, but you respected their decision making. (Though, to be fair, sometimes Bisu's decision making let down his talent as well). Besides that, great games!

Watching him play is incredibly frustrating as it consistently feels like he misreads opponents, under-scouts, has units in incorrect defensive positions, or focuses his attention on actions in the current moment that do not yield results. Watching him seemingly confused as to whether he was going to respond to the surprise DT, for instance, by having a couple dragoons in his base, his probes scattering but making themselves available to be killed, while he has another group of units going into the middle of the map accomplishing absolutely nothing was aggravating. When you watch his stream, you dont understand why the slow and old Stork manages to hold his own against the very bests, Flash for instance, but then you look at his game deeper, he just understand the game so well and avoid bad decision making. He is not the best anymore and will never be again, but hes the perfect practice protoss for any pro imo.

The first game was very exciting and Rains strategy of keep losing battles like that to win the war and keep the base hidden was exciting as hell to watch. Game 2 I thought Shuttles pressure on the ramp to distract from the drop was well executed, Rain should've handled it better because a lazy half assed pressure on that tiny ramp shouldn't have distracted him that much and made him that slow to react to the drop, but it did and I thought it was exciting to see. Similar thing with game 3, the build orders were exciting and to see how much damage Rain was gonna be able to get done before the observer got out was also exciting. Not great, but I enjoyed it. Sparkle is so weird and it was fun to watch a PvP play out that way, I really enjoyed it...

I doubt it was his strategy to lose the battles. He was certainly active on the map, which was his plan to protect the hidden base from being scouted, but he lost the fights because of inferior unit positioning.

They didn't say a thing when he did the exact same thing in game 2. Game 2: Shuttle goes 1 gate --> robo. Going reaver before obs isn't a gamble. Game 3: Shuttle goes 2 gate --> robo. Going reaver before obs is a gamble. And a needless gamble, after he caught out Rain's dragoons. Shuttle-obs-reaver would've put Shuttle in a dominating position no matter what Rain was getting, and Shuttle had time to adjust his build after catching the dragoons, before the DT showed up. He rolled the dice when he didn't need to, and lost the roll.
