I've watched a lot of Brood War, Starcraft 2, and a million other esports events. I wish every single one of them was like this. It's amazing how much of a difference production quality makes. Very grateful to Zotac for putting this on! :D | ||

I used to really like Tasteless when he first started casting BW at GomTV. Same with when Artosis was covering courage tournaments. Is it just me? Right now they hardly even know who Larva is. These guys used to have more background info than was available via TL, now they don't even bother to do their homework. They're ASL's main English casters... Ha... I sincerely hope they stop riding so much on their former success. There are much better BW casters out there with way less experience, it's really sad to see. | ||

To be honest, the quality of their casting at the start was pretty bad, it kind of improved gradually over time. Personally, I think Tastosis are much better than Day9 because Day9 is very focused on the analysis and the movements of the units, I think Tastosis (in ASL) were much more focused on the players and the entertainment value. I don't think this tournament is representative of their casting as a whole, it's not the normal, professional casting format. There is also not much info available on any of the players except Larva. | ||

No one does a fun cast better than Tastosis, Day9 and Inc. They play really well of eachother. I can't remember the last time I've actually lol'd watching a stream cast by anyone else. Or maybe I've been conditioned to only listen to Tastosis. | ||

I don't think this is really not intended to be a serious cast. This is barely a tournament since everyody knows that larva is essentially messing around for fun. This is much more in the vein of the SCR launch event stream, a bunch of guys having a laugh, and dipping into commentary when the games get interesting. There are lots of serious casts done by knowledgable, analytical casters, but these kind of events are great fun and worth watching because it's very rare that they happen. Mostly because apart from these guys, there aren't really any casters in esports who can keep up solid banter for eight hours and it still be funny because they have such history and chemistry. So I'm happy to have these while they're around. | ||
