Unless the other top foreigners got invited, which seemed highly unlikely, there would only be 2 top foreigners playing in the finals either way. This tourney obviously isn't catered to the current best foreigners, as there were only 2 Europe qualifiers.
Since I asked this earlier and have yet to receive an answer, why invite a US player instead of holding a qualifier?

Well incontrol and nony both have such higher marketing value than other players. Nony was also a great player back in the time so there is possibility that he might recover his skill

still it's saddening to see no response whatsoever from ESL regarding the debate going on here.i like Morrow and Draco, but it strikes me as the same decision. Players got invited for past glory, not for recent tournament wins or dominant play in foreigner tours.

Actually i really like the idea with the older pro's being invited, meaning more older players will probably watch

Hopefully the other organizers will jump onboard the train and add more tournaments which is open for everyone in the future.

Although it would be cool to see some tournament with 50% old invites / 50% newschooler invites.

Now i only miss Mondragon, Eriador and blackman / androide

Sure, but there is nothing i can do. I don't have any marketing value besides that i am good player. It hurts if u were carrying somehow the game when it was in really bad condition, but lets face the reality and just accept what organizers want to do.

well actually i prefer to watch soulkey or larva rather then [NC]YellOw or Savior. Much better play, much more exciting games

To be honest, I think a non-response from the organizer in this case is the best scenario. There's no way that they can explain their choices that will appease people who aren't happy about it. It's best for them to let the games speak for themselves.
