Teamliquid.net presents a 4 week matchup of the Foreign Allstar Team vs Team Ajae. BisuDagger, Lemmata, and FireBatHero are all collaborating to bring the Brood War community a series of fun and exciting matches.
Up to now, every tournament organized by BisuDagger and Lemmata has been funded by out of pocket money. This event we are pairing up with Matcherino and they will be sponsoring $200 in free coupon codes. There rest will be crowdfunded. We need a total of $800. $120 to the winners of each series, $80 to the losers.
However, we would not ask you for donations without mad incentives. Donations to this league will reward you with Korean Pro replay packs! (And of course if you want something else you can also earn rewards such as Dreamhack tickets, Roccat gear, Caster T-Shirts, and more.) Please read the rules and conditions on Matcherino in order to correctly claim a reward with your donation.
Casters: Korean: firebathero *Korean casts will be live at ungodly hours English: BisuDagger, TBD *English casts will be the following day at a TBD time on Sunday mornings EDT
Awesome. Can't really spare much apart from the free coupon but let's make this happen
Edit: Also couldn't you have done it like Filthy does? Instead of making it 1 event on matcherino make it 4 seperate events so you can get 100$ for each date instead of 200$ for the whole thing?

This is amazing, i'm looking foward to this, and would be cool if more top foreigners join to the lineup. For last what's the code to give $1 dolar for free?

I cant use coupon. After i write fatbw and press donate animation on the button goes off...forever...it just spins and nothing , wont add money to the prize pool.

Instead of Sziky admins should contact Dinot, his agressive style, and sometimes unorthodox play might catch offguard Team Ajae.
The team is built off players who have shown consistency with BW over the past 2 years and contributions to TL. These picks are entirely mine and I am always flexible with the roster, but I trust the current players and would like to see this team have their shot before making any roster changes.

Well said! The lineup is quite stronk as it is, and if there's only 2 players of each race allowed, I think Eon and TT deserve to be there over Sziky and DinoT due to their recent activity and performance over the past 2 years.

The games will be streamed live on the kor stream ? Or they'll cast replays ? Also interested in knowing the time it will start and who is going to play tomorrow.

I have a question about the replay packs being offered...Are these replays currently available on the internet on replay sites or are they completely exclusive to this event? Are they currently viewable on the latest official BW version? I'd like to know before considering a 50 dollar donation. I wouldn't want to shell out 50 dollars if there is the slightest chance these can be found anywhere else.

The TBLS reps were aquired two days ago. To the best of my knowledge the reps do not exist anywhere except in the folder of the players and observers involved in these replays. This goes for all replay packs.
Congrats FAT you are awesome i thought you wouldn't have a chance like the last time, but you prepared very well. Eonzerg did so well with the zerglings run by, and rejecting the DT harass and Bonyth sent Zeus rigth into depresion haha

I *think* BisuDagger's message is for people who are donating AFTER the new reward was posted. Obviously, we'll take care of you since you donated BEFORE the info was available. We're not evil.
Everyone who's donating now should be able to select the TBLS replay pack reward.
EDIT: Just in case it was not clear, you are NOT fxxked.

UPDATE: Due to some issues with the TeamLiquidnet Twitch channel stream key, I'll just streaming via my personal Twitch account. Will update it in the sidebar as well.

I just realized after watching Bonyth vs Zeus VOD how good Bonyth's macro was that game. Even Zeus had to watch the replay after the game, cause he couldn't believe on how many forces Bonyth had with that last attack :d
I want to see bonyth playing against ajae team's terran players. I like bonyth's carrier style. Somewhat helped me to change PoV and playstyle to get better.

Helped you to change your terran playstyle to better handle carrier builds, or your thoughts about how to execute carrier builds in PvT?
Also, if you do read this Scan I'd love to hear your thoughts on Larva these days given the thread going on about him. Have you played him much recently, and do you think his play is shaping up into a top tier zerg?

Many ppl play 2 fact upgrade 3 base, and protoss improved playing against it. Nowadays tvp with that upgrade 3 base style requires good stamina and patience to continue for a long run game. At the same time protoss has a lot of options to play against it and an advantage(race match) against terran in general.
If you take a look at my game against dewalt, i dont go fast 3 base style. Kind of close to midas maybe. But more modernized version.
Before flash became godlike midas was the one that many ppl recognized about his skills including playstyle. I also heard a rumor that he had something similar playstyle(upgrade terran) that is modernized by flash.
Old days, many terran players played for 4 5 or 6 fact timing before 3 base. And quite a bit late armory. Midas played similar to the others, but he also focused on upgrade to have a powerful mech army in late game. Then flash came like 3 tanks 4 gols fast upgrade style against protoss, and it became strong against reaver/carrier style and heavy gateway army playstyle by protoss. Not a lot of ppl played arbiters at that time.

Finally got around to uploading the English VoDs. Organizing them by raw match # similar to how old OSLs were organized, but it should be pretty obvious. If I do the rest of FAT vs Ajae, I'll organize them into a playlist of their own. (*Note: Match 5 has a small random stutter where my stream died and came back to life without telling me).
FBH played really well last time as well. Both times he seemed to get in that mental state in which he used to get when he TvT'd against Flash, sort of like JD angry face; very determined to win.
On June 25 2017 00:16 jpak wrote: fact: FBH didn't even know the map layout before playing the game
False. He saw trutacz play Hyun on the map last week. He received the map plus the preview image two weeks ago.
I am relaying what the man himself said on stream.
Not trying to start a fight. He could easily have been confused even though he looked at the map before. I felt it was appropriate to correct it since some people might misunderstand and think that FAT pulled a map he had never seen.
BisuDagger is busy with lil' D this weekend, so FlashFTW and I will be covering for him again! Games will begin at 17:00 GMT (+00:00) at https://www.twitch.tv/johnsc2.
Sorry about the mixup with not attaching the stream to calendar. I actually did it before the stream went live, but apparently it did not like that. Also, our technical production, while technically better than Week 1, was still a bit lacking. Will work on it for future content. Super glad we had the BisuDagger commercials though! BabyDagger is super cute!

One more. Id love to do more when I find sponsors. I cant continue to crowdfund these if we come short. Maybe someone could say I overvalued what these guys deserve, but they are sure showing us amazing games.
I saw the games that bisudagger uploaded on youtube but that was only week 2.
And I see week 3 on Johnsc2 twitch and I might watch that later, but twitch doesn't work as well as youtube on my TV.
If you do something similar you should give us 1 channel to watch and follow, that would make it a lot easier to enjoy.
I thought it was a great idea and donated as soon as I saw this thread but I haven't really enjoyed following it since there wasn't a consistent place to follow.

That's been one of the many technical issues we've faced since starting. Originally it was all supposed to be aired on the teamliquidnet Twitch channel and uploaded to the teamliquidnet YouTube, but we've had some difficulty procuring the login info. I'll post the VoDs in here today as soon as I can get everything sorted out (I've also been super busy with IRL stuff the last week).
EDIT: Literally spent all day trying to get this figured out. OBS recorded the VoD as an flv instead of an mp4, so I tried to convert it three different times using VLC player, but each time something went wrong and I had to fix the settings. After I finally got it converted to mp4 (I literally just re-recorded the original video playing, which took 2 hours), I loaded it up into Premiere Pro to cut and edit it, and after encoding it would just immediately corrupt. So I don't know wtf is going on with all this, but I'm gonna continue to work on it. Worst case scenario, I'll just export the Twitch VoD to YouTube (but I prefer to cut the videos).
EDIT: I give up. Exporting the Twitch VoD to YouTube, will post it shortly.

I've put some links on the Liquipedia page for this match, but they seem to be taking some time to be accepted so I'll put them here, too.
These are the VODs that are available now, I think. All five games are always played, so this won't spoil the results.
This has been the most frustrating week ever trying to get this VoD to work lol. Enjoy the completely unedited version in all its messiness and technical problems.
EDIT: LOL I forgot that I had multi-streamed it to YouTube too, so I actually had the VoD on my YouTube the entire time without exporting it from Twitch. FML

I highly encourage everyone to donate at least a dollar of their own money so I'm not stuck paying $400 out of pocket. Filthy raised $1k for a single day event $800 more then he needed for that event. I am open to any suggestions that could incentivize donations. (I'm sorry I can't get Day9)

I think we need more people who are involved from the beginning to produce predictable casts at predictable times and enough lead time for people to get interested. I handled the Korean Ajae side and BisuDagger handled the crowdfunding and FAT side. For the casting, we had to get people to fill in at the last minute because BisuDagger gave birth to the future of the Protoss race. John did a great job given that he didn't have much time to prepare, but it would have been much better if he knew he was doing it from the beginning and had time to get his setup ready. Also, we had some technical problems with the TL twitch stream that interfered with getting a wider audience, I think.
I am issuing a challenge: If the donation meter hits $500, I pledge $100 in cash. So if you guys can donate $100, I will match it.
Can you guys do it?
Since I have been paying the Koreans directly after every match, so I can just deduct the amount from what BisuDagger owes me.
Due to the Ajae League Finals taking place this weekened, this week's FAT vs Ajae match has been postponed. Everyone root for your favorite Ajae this weekend.
I think the group of viewers who are interested and also actively following this is rather small. That group's expectations aren't met and that's why your expectations aren't answered. (Of course it could very well be your donation goal is unrealistic even with everything running smoothly, because your viewerbase may be too small to begin with.)

You are right, but I think the viewerbase would be much larger with well known caster personalities. As seen with tastosis and day9, you can bring in 5k+ viewers who will get excited over any Brood War event. People are without a doubt entertained by these games, but they need the right person to cast over them. This is nothing agaknst john and flashftw who I love. The community of hard core fans is too small to make any new caster famous. I think things will run better in the future now that Im handling my father business better and I will have fully funded tournaments so I dont have to rely on the community that already does enough to help out.

i promoted it non stop today on my stream,is a bit weird to me that people dont want to use the free code,i mean is free the only you need to need do is to type FATBW ...
since we are not playing this week just extend the date.
Keep spamming the link every where you can. In fact, I did use it as soon as I saw it on your stream eon. I didn't even realize there was this option to add a free donation. I also saw the prizes and am very much considering adding another 5 dollars to get the ggaemo replay pack.

I think this is the most exciting event since ASL and ASL team battle. Yet I didn't see the donation code untill the previous week. I am pretty lazy on reading the main posts, I basically just skim untill I get all the necessarry information (date, stream link ect.). Maybe the code should be the in the first line of OP on bold, italic and underlined.
No cast today since this was postponed a week and an official ENG cast will be next Sunday. The KOTH games may be casted later this week though as a bonus.
Alot of advertisement on stream by FAT and other streamers because you always had a few guys who were like: wow didn't know you could chime in 1$ for free. Some people who actually donated money throw some more money in. Just well done by FAT and all who donated <3
The English VoD cast of FAT vs Ajae Week 4 will be aired on https://www.twitch.tv/johnsc2 at 15:30 GMT (+00:00) with FlashFTW! BisuDagger will be joining us during commercials again.
I believe the payouts will be occurring in the near future. The rewards for those who donated should also be sent out in the near future, probably after the English cast.
Speaking of which, I am looking forward to English cast.
So...small problem with the stream today guys. BisuDagger is kind of afk and never sent me the replays, so I have nothing to cast. This leaves me with three options:
Find the Korean VoD and try to cast over the Korean commentary
Go live anyway and cast some FPPoV games instead
Just postpone until I can get the replays and reschedule
Please let me know which option you'd prefer:

Cast over Koreans (1)

Cast some random FPPoV games (0)

Just postpone (4)

My apologies for the late reps! The cast will happen soon! Also, rewards will be distributed within the week. If you donated and forgot to select a reward then please PM me the title "FAT BW"
The English cast unfortunately didn't happen today...we're still in the process of getting the replays, and both BisuDagger and I didn't even notice until this morning. Once BD gets the replays, I'll schedule another cast (final cast this time, I promise).
Final week VoD! Apparently the replay I received of trutaCz vs (unknown) was not played in the FAT vs Ajae matchup, but I casted it as if it were. Still, was a really enjoyable experience, and I tried to overcome the technical difficulties of the other two casts with a much improved layout and production. Please give me feedback on the cast and let me know what I can do better!
BTW...while you're stopping by, have a look at my latest Brood War stream casts. #ShamelessSelfplug
I thank everyone involved in making this series possible! It was a blast to watch, many close games, many wins by foreigners as well. I watched every week, and skipped watching Korean streams to not spoil myself Thank you! :D
The only suggestion I have is - the overlay at bottom covers dropship/overlord/shuttle contents, upgrade progress, building progress etc... I'd place the green overlay at top left, and then it would be ideal.
in the last match at 1:55:14 there are like 12 lings inside terran's base but the camera is staring at zerg's drones. would have been nice to see how much damage the lings did.

Agreed. I have a bad habit of going back to bases to check information during fights because that's often more important for analysis, but it's really horrible for observing. It's definitely more difficult to observe the games and cast at the same time, but I can improve in that area for sure.

Haha, yeah. I had never seen that banner placement in BW streams But it was a minor thing, and no one seemed bothered by it. Commentary and observing was pretty solid throughout the cast
Rewards and payouts have just been completed. Please PM me if you have any issues accessing rewards or not receiving your rewards.
Final Thoughts: Huge thanks to Team FAT for playing. Thank you Lemmata for organizing the Korean side of things. Thank you for casts John and Flashftw stepping up to the plate in my absence.
