No, the game must be really really scrappy to make a recall retreat a good choice.

//Tbf, in this case it would have been ok but what he did was probably the better choice still. He didn't have enough energy and by the time he had he was in his base and used the energy to reinforce his troops in the base.

Sea was pretty far behind based on the openers, and you could see it on his face when he saw the 14cc. Best made a couple unwise moves, but his macro was good enough to capitalize on the opening.

first recall was so bad but sea's push was even worse. damn. i really hyped up his unit positioning and he completely threw it.

first recall was so bad anyways though. was really disappointed taht sea couldnt make the push work there.

Most defensive recalls come from Protoss being either trapped in the main or 4/5th base and they need to recall the units out in order to surround the terran army instead of funneling the army down a ramp into tanks.
