no TBLS :c I can say I am.
Actually none of the ro8 ASL players are participating. They are busy preparing for that league so it is good we can have this league now instead of waiting until the ASL finishes.
Why are you dissapointed? This is a small league, does TBLS have to dominate everything? If we are going to have healthy player pool you have to give more chances for the lesser known players. There are so much quality and diversity in style among these players, They put just as much effort as TLBS into bw, but most get much less in return. Lets cheer and support them!

I don't need TBLS in every tourney
Pfft, speak for yourself. They need to be in all of them, till the end of time!
I love the range of maps they have, minus FS. Might just be me but I haven't seen that desert tileset in forever. Excited for La Mancha, Match Point and Ground Zero.

sure I guess that makes sense. All I'm saying I guess is there will be an astericks on this tournament since no "super strong" player is in this tournament (you're also missing ZerO and EffOrt for example).
Group D for group of Death as usual, and Group H is also hilarious because of how it has 3 semifinalists from ASL1 in it together so one of them is getting the stick haha.

Zero is listed. But is fine. Its just a minor tournament, not a major/premium.
I am very happy to see Mini, Snow, Skyhigh and beast returning!
The map pool for zvt is really awful ie Ground Zero, La Mancha, FS and you have some of the much lower tier zergs ie beast and zelot. (These are zergs that lose to other zerg's offrace terran ie killer and jd). Meanwhile, there are a ton of terrans who aren't exactly slouches in tvz either.
I'm actually quite happy TBLS / other notables are missing, makes this tourney much more open and hopefully some of the others can establish themselves here.
Also quite curious to see how Snow/Mini/Horang2 perform!
Think Zergs besides Zero are gonna get rekt though
B team the tournament, no offense to the players, some of them like zero, Rain are really good, but I can't feel like most of the good players are missing, and it makes sense, why risk your reputation for 600$

its a good test for a lot of the lower players and for the upper players its good tournament practice.

That actually makes it more interesting. With only 24 new players into the ASL2, this gives a chance for many more less known players to be seen and a chance for weaker players to show their skills. There are many many players in here who can win this and it's nice to see so many old names around.

I agree in a way, I thought it would be a shame if we just stopped seeing some of the players in the Scene that might not quite be able to qualify for ASL.
I think a tournament is basically a preview on who might be able to qualify for ASL 3.

Horang2's win rate for Dec. was 11%(last place) and most of the games were played against average to below average players. HoeJJa isn't doing much better either.

Shit that's kinda sad, how many games did he play?

Wow, that's sad, I didn't know. I was just glad to see the architect back. HoeJJa is prob. just hiding his builds so he can surprise everyone in his group!
Some days ago, I watched him that lost at least 5 consecutive games: 0-3 with shuttle and 0-2 with larva, they were very strong when compare Firebathero.

Is he also casting in his league? He looks quite young, do you know how old he is?

I'm guessing the people participating in the ASL right now can't compete in this, either for strategical or scheduling reasons. I'd love some English commentary if there's any out there, I assumed it was broadcast in Korean.
Hello, I'd like to make an announcement here. Razorsuke and I will be casting Group C, but only for the first few games (2-3) due to schedule conflicts as I leave for work early. I know, kind of disappointing. Anyway, hop on by if you want some nice casting .
Free just did his Tving OSL JangBi vs Fantasy Set 4 impression and wins on La Mancha going 2:0 versus HiyA.
Guess PianO's not coming, either. Straight to a bo3 between Movie and HiyA.
HiyA fights his way after considerable early aggression to win on Circuit Breaker. Seemed like Movie needs to get into the habit of adding Gates at new mains.

Just reading Liquipedia it seems he's had quite some success in this post-KeSPa scene, in tournaments with higher payouts than this as well. Glad the Fishiking is doing well in any case. With no Proleague for A-level-but-not-quite-S-tier players to shine, it's nice to have them participate in these number of smaller events.
And Hiya finishes the set 2-0 with constant pressure on La Mancha and 2-1 overall.

The games still released on time by schedule of liquipedia but almost, the games played so fast and sometime have player absent. Example: Ro16 group A, Piano played other matchup instead of Hosic leauge then he didn't explain his behavior.

"no zerg in my group, don't care anymore"
Piano
are you kidding me? if it was true, I think Piano was brave when he told about this leauge!
About Piano, I like to watch Piano's war with zerg!
I understand why there were no Liquibets for the Ro16 considering the forfeits in Ro32 and even in Ro16, but I would love if we could have some for the K.O.-Bracket. I expect that nobody who qualified through 2 groupstages is now gonna drop out in the Elim. Bracket
Noticed a postponement in the quarterfinals -- the last two QF matches will both be held on Feb 9 at 8pm KST, one after another (no match tonight Feb 8). Updated in the Calendar and LP
^^Yea, sorry, should have a made a post about it. Noticed BJ Hosic changed the time from 8pm to 7pm so I just updated it in the Calendar about 4-5 hours before it started
The semifinal looks like it's going to proceed as scheduled tonight. With the second SF on Feb 15, now added in Calendar
