From organizer/caster BJ Girl Next Door, who regularly casts a variety of amateur leagues, comes a small three-day tournament from November 4-6. Co-casting with BJ KDS and Zeus, Spicy Rice Cake Tournament Season 2 is about to start with a 16 player progamer field.
The league appears to be sponsored by a Korean restaurant specializing in the popular Korean dish the "rice cake" (Tteokbokki).
Also check out the 8-player first season of the tournament at LP from a few months earlier.
Participants:
Format & Map Pool: Ro16 dual-tournament group stage Ro8 single elimination bracket
really guemchi just not being able to press his advantage as much as he wants to because of this vulture harass, which for the most part is pretty good.
If Guemchi feinted weakness and baited out Hiya into the middle, that'd have been genius. And with carriers now his play makes some sense at least, he must be rich like ****. Like... "let terran have those 4-5 (!) bases, as long as I can take 10 and he must push through that middle."
hiya is scanning over those stargates at intervals, so he knows if its fake or not.
pays to watch the players perspectives
well, i guess hiya's doing that, and Hiya cannot tell if there are carriers or just some arbiters being bulit. Still it's strange that guemchi builds all those structures and then does nothing with them all game... it's a complete waste of resources like that, unless Guemchi tried something bigger with his ground army when Hiya build all those goliaths...
edit: Now he build some finally, makes sense now. Probably kept Hiya busy all game just building those early as he could afford it anyways. Now the map is split though...
Kinda boring ^^, but in a way a good strategy or decision by Guemchi... when it looked like he never used his eco-lead properly, effectively, he never let Hiya really push him, and switched to carriers when Hiya would have problems defending his last bases against them.
At least that's how i read it, maybe he had other plans and Hiya just didn't let him finish it.
Thanks for all the updates, some good games indeed!
Was hoping for an early VANT/KSL2 preview between EffOrt and HiyA, but perhaps we'll see that tonight, instead

It's always good to have tournaments going on, but yea it's unfortunate for so many to be going on concurrently. At least this league is only 3 days and doesn't interfere with the VANT

Nah it's okay. We only knew this 2 days ago ^_^
The obsing doesn't really matter for me. My feed is unstable everywhere, only longzhu stream has any hint of stability.

I don't know of any classical symphony with a piano in it... they are for orchestra. And piano concerti have an orchestra, too...
But sonata, fantasia or rhapsody for piano would be fitting i guess ^^
edit: well, wikipedia says there can be pianos or such instruments in orchestras, but traditionally they aren't and it's very rare.... and Piano's playing by himself anyway

i don't really care about that lol, and i doubt you are any real expert either from your response (muh wikipedia)

I'm not an expert, but I know that symphonies are orchestra works, not for solo instruments. It's not your comon-knowledge maybe, but if you're making a joke about Xi Jinping and you think he's the president of the Republic of China, and that's part of your joke, you would also deserve to be corrected, no? You're using a word that means something else than what you WANT to transport, so where's your point in dismissing semantics?
I put my source there, yes, wikipedia... so I'm not claiming to be 100% sure, I quote a source, wikipedia... Articles like that, about uncontroversial facts like the composition of musical groups, are almost always right on wikipedia... so why not quote it if I don't have my musical dictionary at hand?
To me it seems, you're like someone making a joke that is based on the assumption that the sun revolves around the earth, and the joke only makes sense/is fun, if it's actually the case... so it's not funny to a person with any demand concerning a good joke making sense...
Whole problem is that you cannot take criticism (in this case at least) but want this to be as shallow as possible...
Jokes become better if the facts are correct! But it was a good joke Probemico...next time it will be better aligned with reality! Thats a good thing :D
Anyways, who won that TvT? The stream died, but i'm watching icarus restreaming on snipealot now - shuttle vs Hiya
you both need to chill out or take it to PMs but whatever it is take it somewhere not here.

Best is back
so questioning the quality/reality of sources of information (ie highgamer) is wrong? also any tom dick harry can regurgitate quotes from wikipedia and look an expert
if you still prefer to continue to obsess over ultimately asinine details and derail this lr, fine by me, i already said i dont care :p

I never said it's wrong in every situation and I didn't boast around with wiki-facts... you pull these things out of your head now cus you cannot take criticism or even just talk like grown persons should do, like a kid...
I'm still not sure who'll sing the big choral though ^^
Seems to me like shuttle is moving his army around well-spread and hits those stasis, but doesn't use the big space in the middle enough, he came in from one angle now twice in these big fights. Might just be the power of maxed mech army though.
Yes, both players had a chance there until close to the end. Given Hiyas good start I suppose that Shuttle's zergling-frenzy-practice earlier really paid off in the end.
Not sure, but from my experience Shuttle is a player who can take one or several games of any T or P because he's so experienced but also ruthless and cool at times, with the gift to sense weakness or make great decisions and tactical moves sometimes.
Then again it's PvP and Best went for a risk (proxy) that didn't pay off.

Really encouraging see how BeSt played this tourney! A month or two ago, I had largely assumed his return would largely be like NaDa or July as more of an emeritus/retiree without much impact to the Afreeca scene, so it's terrific to be proven wrong and seeing him making significant strides in regaining his form.
The PvZ effort against EffOrt,and yesterday ZerO, have been really Bisu-esque...the two-stargate corsairs completely held the Zerg in check while he harassed and macro'd like a beast.
