Their message board system is really messy, so they may even prefer the LP page for organizing things. s_k_911? it is a huge mess, i'll update the liquipedia when i get some free time with results

Would you like to revise it per your preference or for accuracy's sake?
Might you also add more game details, like who won each game? I briefly compiled the Ro32 final standings from threads like this: http://bbs.scntv.com/thread-121275-1-1.html

re that wiki page, is there any reason why we have the chinese players ids in Chinese rather than pinyin? Having Chinese characters is hardly helpful or useful to most of the reads of liquipedia
if it's just a copy and paste job, i can make the changes

I think Pinyin works too. Either one would be helpful to identify some of those players without LP pages
Thanks for the contributions

I think Dingdang will say "sziky u lag u out" today. I am not wishing to sziky to get DQed. From my own experience, Mihu's Internet is not great. I had a lot of trouble with him in the past in VS server.
Good luck in Ro16 today. It might be tough group for you because of the lag issue.

also changed helios to leilei, which is by far more popular

Given how 2 people have already been DQ for "lag", it won't reflect well for the Chinese scene if sziky is DQ for same reason as well.
I think it would be more fair if the foreigner vs chinese match is played on a more neutral venue where the connection is even for both parties (iccup or fish). But first and foremost its their own competition after all, so they have the only say on the rules.

I'm not sure how VS differs from iccup or fish with its VPN magic and whatnot, but the key problem here is the Chinese internet itself, and that is outside of anyone's control. If sziky is DQ'd due to lag, the organizers will see inviting foreigners as a failed attempt, and will simple cease to do so in the future.
My understanding is that, the server matters very little, because it only links the clients together, and the connection is established directly between the clients without needing to go through the server (if someone knows for sure, let me know if this is incorrect).

what about having a "neutral" observer to host the game? someone based in korea/outside of china maybe.
i mean if theres no other option theres no incentive for foreigners to join anymore. there are already people like scan that shell out cash for VPN to connect and still get DQ for "lag"? like really
EDIT: oh and btw, i recall a COSL showmatch cup between 2 koreans (Pure and Zero i think?). Was played on VS intially and there was lag for both parties until Dingdang switched to fish server for regame, and the game was much smoother then
so the server does matter when it comes to connections.

Can't really say for VPN, haven't tried it. Servers really don't matter though, at least FISH/ICCup and if you talk about actually playing, since it's p2p once you left the lobby from what I understand. The launchers might be important though, since LanLat is required and needs a plug-in.
Other than that, I wouldn't talk so bad about the Chinese scene after all. It's probably difficult enough to manage a large league without trying to find tech fixes and other work arounds for foreigners as new side project. Hence, it's reasonable to outsource these things to the players directly, as much as it sucks for them. Also, "we" did similar things to "the Chinese" in earlier events - I remember some Nation Wars / Clan Leagues not too long ago, for which Chinese players were left out on purpose due to lag issues. Defiler excluded some of the Korean FISH Anons for a reason as well - they're not part of our scene and they never tried to really have contact with us, unless money was involved.
See it as first steps. Maybe in the future it gets better if all parties involved work on it in between ongoing seasons. During an event last second fixes are just not doable.

Hey submit event in the calender

Sziky was supply block at 35for a bit before corsair goes out? And also at around 100 even though zhanhun was not very active with corsairs The scourges suicide to an archon was also painful to watch
|
Some intense action happening on the final game of final set!
+ Show Spoiler + Sziky advances! Question is now if 2nd Place of Group A plays against first place of Group B or first place of Group C or D. If Sziky can dodge the Korean protosses and get into favourable ZvZs he has a chance at getting into ro4!
|
Just look at the predictions made by scan for ro8, which would be same for me. Tough opponents everywhere, although I think as long as you don't meet movie there's still a chance
Anyway congrats for advancing!

Sometimes he becomes very stubborn and not letting players to switch to fish server because some Chinese players do not know how to get into fish server and dingdang will keep repeating same words, "i think VS better, fish lag" There should be a VOD of him saying like that to me.
