This is going to be a King of the Hill tournament. There will be a King who will get to sit on his throne and have the most ginormous e-penis ever. Then there will be the plebeians. These are everyone else. Challengers to the throne. Kingslayers if I may. The king will need to defend his title from these ingrates. If he loses, he is demoted to a plebeian and the victor takes his place on the royal throne.
The idea of the tourney is to be an ongoing tournament for casual yet semi-competitive players. There is currently no definite end. There will always be a king, and as long as there is at least one player who wishes to challenge his (or her) title, the games continue. Note: I am trying to accommodate all timezones so players need to be active in setting up games themselves and email their replays.
Be warned if you sign up I WILL be PMing you a hell of a lot to keep this ball rolling.
Hierarchy
King - the current winner. Kingslayer - the one who gets to challenge / play the king next. Plebeians - the queue of the rest of the challengers.
Format and Rules
D-/D/D+ rank players only.
There can only be one king (duh)
All players must play with the iccup account they signed up with.
Bo1 format. Bo1s are more volatile. I want the King to have no security.
Challengers will be arranged in a queue. First to sign up, first to challenge. FIFO
If Kingslayer wins, he is the new king. If he loses, he is added to the bottom of the queue.
Multiple races per matchup allowed, but must explicitly state each mu. (i.e. v, v, v)
Race changing is allowed if you are not within the top three on the challenger queue. State in the thread what your race change will be and I'll update the OP.
King is not allowed to change his race picks once he has taken the throne.
If a player disconnects during the first 3 minutes of a game he will be granted a re-match. Any problems arising will be revised case-by-case.
Observers are allowed, given both players agree. Also hosts for people having problems creating games.
Standard other Iccup rules (i.e. Anti-hack must be on, lantecy changer must be on, maps must come from latest version)
Kingslayer will have at least one week when it is their turn to schedule a game with the current King. Else next challenger gets to play. The sooner they can play, the better (no need to wait till the 7 days are up).
If king is inactive for two consecutive weeks he loses his hill and next two players get to fight for the throne
Cheese is allowed. BM play like mass hatchs in his natural or scout play is always encouraged.
No Excessive BM like name calling or legitimate harassment by any means. You will be dropped from the tourney if I see fit. (I am the dictator. And dictator >> king. muhahhaaha >:D )
Map: King gets to pick the map from the map pool.
King may not select the same map twice in a row.
Winner King sends replays to DRANKGOT@GMAIL.COM
King MUST send replays otherwise I won't count the win. All replays will be made available (I'll upload it so you don't need to worry bout that).

The idea is whoever's name is first on the plebeian list gets to play winner of me and empty.bottle (thats jonhy-). Then Birdie plays next and so on.. Once the list is exhausted I'll randomize all the players so we play different people and we go for round 2.
If you want a race change (and arn't part of top 3 on plebeian list) for off-racing funness let me know and I'll update it as soon as I can.
Once the maps are determined we can get this underway and add new players to the bottom of the list as they sign up (yay no bottlenecks!!). Vote for how you want maps to play out.

Well I'd like it to be multiple games per week.. The 'one game rule / week' is just the longest it should take to schedule cause of timezones. If you win, you should go ahead and start arranging your next match with your next opponent.
I was thinking about the format.. Would you guys prefer bo1 or bo3? Benefits of bo1: makes it more fun cause everythings on the line and the better player can get cheesed out of his win. Benefits of bo3: it takes a while to set up times and get a game going.. would be worth more of the effort if it was a bo3 rather than just one game. Also we all get to play more then.
Edit: Looks like its gonna be a bo1, king picks the map (can't play the same map twice in a row). Also maps determined. Got 2 of each (2 player, 3 player, 4 player).

I practised like 5-10 TvTs beforehand during the day and won all of them with a Rax FE into 2 Port build, and then I didn't get to show it at all. I facepalmed so hard I think I got a concussion after I cancelled the rax.
Pregnant Wife at home, working 40 hours and I just started back up school. My casting days are over for now. Maybe I'll try picking it up again in the far future for kicks and giggles. =)

Man, this sounds awesome! The format works out nicely for me because I'm in an inconvenient time zone, (most people in sGs, at least, aren't online when I am) so things like traditional clan wars or tournaments are pretty much out of the question.
I was a C- player back when I was active, but currently I'm at D/D+. I don't think I could make it into C- at the moment, but I'll leave that up to organizer discretion. I'll send some replays when I get back from work; lemme know if I'm eligible.

I won. Game was wierd. I don't understand it maybe you guys can help. I went 10/15 against his Rax FE and he literally couldn't get enough money for a tank. It was minutes late. I don't know if somewhere there was scv cut and then he pulled scvs so he couldn't get the money...but it was wierd.

Low scv count + 7 or so not mining, and losing minerals on bunker = very late tank. He was pretty good at still managing to hold initially vs 10/15 though.

i just pulled scvs too early when he had only 2 goons at the front of my natural + the spotting scv, thats pretty much it. good luck Lmaster!, i dont really mind him taking the throne that much plus i needed a break :D

Yea that's what we determined watching it last night. It was a nice hold, that many goods versus a bunker is scary, though you could see I wasn't too good at the micro for it. I figured everyone knows I like to go 21 nex so better mix it up so I'm not 100% predictable. Then he had nothing for so long I just decided mass gates to kill him.

I wanted it initially set up so the king would tell me the time and map and I'd just confirm it with the challenger but Obelisco did a great job dealing with all the logistics that I kinda forgot about it lol..

I think such an early forge and 3 cannons really hurt your unit count because your additional gates were so late; the third might have been taken a bit too early as well. Also, shuttle could have probably helped a lot, both in defending potential threats to your third and managing your reavers! And it gives you the option to harass ^^. I get where your build was headed; I am sometimes very greedy too so I understand you haha. I just think it needs to be a little safer when it's a Bo1.

I do my best to play more than 1 game a week, usually 2-3 if I can manage it. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't respond to me or miss the appointed time or whatnot. Kal_rA will update the thread when he has time.

Sounds like it would have been a good build for you to try if you didn't lose 10 SCVs in the first 6 minutes ^^;

Well, I believe you have your own choice on which map to play on and which map to have in the map pool, so no maps necessarily have to be changed if you don't want to play on them.
Okay so heres whatsup... I've been really busy with school over the last quarter (anyone whos taken a computer architecture class making their own pipelined cpu knows what I'm talking about lol). I really dont have time to keep up with this league pming players to play their games
So the way I see it two things can happen: 1. Liquipedia. Everything is on the wiki. The league can technically easily continue on there.. Its well organized and anyone can edit it. If someone wants to volunteer as an admin (or even create a new thread to keep track of the league) we can continue this league pretty easily. To do this the king will have to take more responsibility in reaching out to their opponents and getting things done.. Otherwise this isnt gonna work. 2. The league dies

I don't see why this whole shindig has to stop. I have been PMing my opponents and requesting for games ASAP, and minus that 1 month interval where everyone dodged me because they were Gao Xi-level cowards, I think it's very easy to keep playing games (evidenced by my streak). The people playing have to just put in more effort.

I think the thread can just continue running as is, I, just as Babo did before me, just PM my opponent and get a time and date going. We can upload results to the thread and if you have time at some point then you can update it Kal? Or alternatively make a new thread with someone else administrating it. Atm I'm quite busy but as soon as Easter hits I'll be playing opponents on more than a weekly basis until my demise!

I don't think there is a need for a new thread, it would disrupt continuity for people who are already looking for this one. It'd be better to just edit LP and post updates in this one.
I always just found a thread easier to manage than LP cuz I'm not that good at LP...and since no one else had volunteered yet I just went with a thread cuz I feel like its easier to run with one...

Alright guys I feel inspired to get this tournament back on track so look out for that in the coming days. Expect the league to be running in two days. I will have much stricter king rules this time around to enforce games get played on time.

Yeah, I did get 15-3 and got 2867 points, but I dunno what you're trying to get at... Not only did I not even reach C-, but there are players that's signed up that actually reached C- with a better win percentage than 15-3... 2. Well, that happened several months ago, so I don't remember if I stopped laddering after 15-3 or if the season ended while I was still laddering... And who knows, maybe I went 15-0, and lost 3 games after I faced some quality D+ opponents.
3. I dunno what point you're trying to prove, I was just trying to be funny, but I guess you're pretty srs about these things. My max is C- on Modesty(OD), which is gone for some reason, which I hit around season #13, I believe.

As for your point #4, I guess it's true that no one else really had a better win percentage, but looking at it from a broad perspective, what does that matter when others have actually hit C-, like I've said? If players has hit C-, but as a worse win percentage, isn't it possible that they had a good win percentage but simply lost to C- players once they got there and worsened their record? Or I played relatively bad players and came away with the wins on MOTW.
Again, not that I'm taking it to offense or anything, but I dunno why you called ME out, instead of someone who's actually established themselves as an actual good player. Maybe you're calling me out because I beat you once and you think because I beat you, I'm simply too good for this league, I dunno... I guess in your point of view, anyone that beats me is C- or better, as you consider me to be C-, since you basically say I COULD be C- if I play a couple more games since I'll obviously win them all on the path to be C-, but I chose not to so I could stay at D+ and completely fool everybody but you.

I'm pretty sure if I had the chance to play games, I would've played them, not purposely stay at D+ just to keep a 15-3 record, lol. But again, I don't remember much from several months ago, so maybe I DID the last 3 ladder games I played and didn't wanna play anymore or something.
