It'S been a long Journey, but WE're finaly Here! The noise Amateur StarLeague has reached the group stages after 16 days of grueling ladder qualification. 28 players will now advance to the most nail-biting stage of the tournament where 16 will make some noise, and, unfortunately, 16 will Never be heard. They will do so in a Round Robin style format where each of the four will play eachother once. The top 2 of each group then advances to the Ro16. You can find these 32 players here
As for invites, our very own tip top Yellow rankers will be joining the 28 in this elimination stage. Being that Snipin_pandA is out due to an injury, WandS has been awarded his invite spot, thus putting him in the mist of the other invites. Those invites consist of: Lumire, S2Glow, and Dsyxelic Who was the winner of the sGs C Ranks Open.
The group stages will be casted by none other than L_Master on Sundays at 22:00 CET and EleGant on Fridays at 20:00 CET. Follow this post to learn more about the matches, dates, and format.
Groups 1-4
Groups 1-4 will be played on April 29th, at 19:00 CET
just to make this clear, all games will be played on Fish. You can find an easy guide to downloading Fish here. All players are also required to make ASL accounts on Fish just like they did on iCCup. (Example: ASL.Shimy) Race picking rules will be: 1) Players may come to an agreement on their own or 2) Players may do shout races in lobby under the guidance of an ASL staff Member.
1) All players are subject to administrative discretion.
2) Bad manner directed towards fellow participants and/or ASL staff will result in a league ban.
3) All games must be played on the Fish server using either mini Launcher or Chaoslauncher.
4) All replays have to be sent to NoiseASL@gmail.com.
5) If a player is experiencing an unplayable quantity of lag, they must leave the game before the two minute mark. Beyond this Point, the player will be forced to play out the set.
6) Lag and IP conflicts will be handled on a case to case basis at the official'S discretion.
7) If a player cannot play his match due to personal time issues, that player needs to contact ASL staff 72 hours beforehand and then their opponent 48 before their match to either PP the match or play early. Upon proof via screenshot of contact back and forth between player and opponent, the referee handling the case will then assign a date and time to be played, earlier or later than set time, at a time of mutual availability.
8) If a player does not show up within 15 minutes of the set game time, their opponent is given a W.O. Victory. Technical issues not apply and are done case by case by ASL officials.
9) Any form of abuse during this stage of the tournament will result in a league ban.
10) Players may be required to surrender their IP addresses without any prior Notice.
Prize Pool
$205
1st $150 2nd $40 3rd $15
Huge thanks to NoisE, Nebopolis, and Sayle for sponsoring this event! Truly amazing people giving their hard earned money for an event they care about. All of your thanks and praises should be to each of those guys!

I am more excited about the group stages of this starleague than I am about the ladder and league itself. Grueling round robin pitting neanderthal late game players to strategic bounds in beating others like themselves. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
I'll be in a different location during the group stage matches but I'll be able to send you my new IP address 2-3 days in advance. I hoped I would play on April 29th but no luck

lol you should fear me , i am not the zerg that you faced in ladder stage . of course i might lose but the chances are low.
ohya both are bulgaria.. BULGARIA SEXY CLUB ! CANADIAN CLUB GONNA OWNED XD . even though i am not canadian
Man I'm so going to lose... I have a small tennis tournament on Thursday, I'm going to an amusement park for an entire day on Friday and I have Prom on Saturday. that gives me like no time to practice lol, unless I pull an all nighter tuesday/wed playing this game while skipping school.

You are only allowed to play the race you signed up with in the email. I'm sorry, but all races are final.

I've mentioned it to shimy already but you guys should be aware rush's other account http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/gamingprofile/SL]..RUSH-.html has him beating topstar(A-) 2:1 PvT and his other stats are also really good. SL merged with pain not long ago.
A lot of T players play PvT. Look at the scores and times on those games. If you did, I doubt you'd post. They are clear as day successful cheeses or allins.

Firstly, times are set. Sorry that it's not quite ideal for you :S
Second, it's what he signed up with so that's what I put him down as. I think he just wanted to offrace the ladder.
And lastly, Panda has beaten Draw, S2Glow has beaten TTF, and yes, RuSh beat Topstar. People are good and sometimes good people have off days ^^
Whether you are a struggling C- wanting to get better, or a solid C/C+ player looking to prove yourself, this is the place for you. Being the first of its kind, the ASL will offer a fairly large prize pool of $200 to exclusively C Ranks players in hopes to further improve foreign BroodWar and give a much needed league style opportunity for the middle rank players that deserve it.
Wands is B- Rush is B+/A- ?
i think. definately not C exklusiv. but u tournament not me.
In my opinion here we have some ppl that made c/c+ so easily, but never ladder for better ranks and they are allowed to play here. But u cant rly say what is their level at all. That's the only thing that is unrepairable in this kind of league ^^

All games begin play time at 19 CET, yes. As for tie breakers, and I already said this in the announcement thread tt, they will go on a system like this:
Tie Breaker:
Player 1 < vs > Player 2 Player 2 < vs > Player 3 Player 1 < vs > Player 3

i say i think Shymi. opinion. facts show in result later u sea.
For fun games are different than ladder but apparently it was Bibiane or someone like that playing Protoss vs Topstar in those ladder games, not rush (who is a zerg player not PvT)
People have raised concerns for my eligibility in this league so I would like to directly speak to those people since I feel they deserve to know the facts instead of being in the dark. I too am a victim of questioning some players, but at the same time I put full faith in the superb staff to filter to who should play/shouldn't play. I didn't want to clutter this thread so it's here under my blog. I warn you though it's a very long post.
Summary: I was a C+ at the start of the ladder stage in ASL, but now I feel I finally surpassed the C+ barrier during and after the ASL ladder by having a different approach to the game and by playing a mass amount of games in both ASL and Fish server simultaneously. But please don't judge me by this post - please read the longer explanation.
Actually I think you guys should make Rush play solely Zerg, as it came to my attention he's going to be Terran for the group stages, and I know that he has access to other VERY VERY GOOD korean friends who can possibly play for him (sry if that seems very direct @ rush seeming like an abuser or sth)
Firstly, I'd like to introduce a someone who will be casting ASL along side L_Master... EleGant! The group stages will now be split up between the two. This means that you can catch two groups on Sunday at 22:00 CET and 2 Groups on Friday at 20:00 CET! (Sunday= 4PM EST Friday= 2PM EST). So the casting schedule will look like this:
Group 1 and 2: April 29th @ 22:00 CET with L_Master Group 3 and 4: May 4th @ 20:00 CET with EleGant Group 5 and 6: May 6th @ 22:00 CET with L_Master Group 7 and 8: May 11th @ 20:00 CET with EleGant
Secondly, flags are now in the OP! Show some country pride!
Just to make sure. Sunday 17:00 CET is the same as Sunday 8:00 PST right? As for the poll, I also agree group 4 is hardest but I voted group one. Why? Just because.! Haha Edit: Anyone know why Fish Server is gone from the selection list when I used the mini launcher? It was there yesterday and all of sudden is no longer there?

8:00 PST is correct and Group 1 is actually really hard in my opinion. Should be exciting! Also, if I ever have that issue, I usually just run this.

Hardi has been disqualified from the NoisE ASL due to not abiding by rules. We're giving Hardi 48 hours to gather all of his replays from his opponents. Please be kind and helpful to him during this task.
9) All replays of the ladder stage must be sent in a .rar file to NoiseASL@gmail.com.
I'd like to add a list of people whoHAVE NOT sent in their replays packs:
MarkM Zeran
Those 2 names have until 1PM EST on Friday, April 27th to send in their replays. Failure to do so will result in a DQ.
Hardi's spot will go to next in line on the ladder rankings.
Please, if you are on this list, send in your replay pack! You may just get enlisted in the ASL!
Rooting for me. And also Profprotoss.
Aww that's so sweet. Was thinking the same. Rooting for me twice hehehehehee...he j/k go Imbatoss!!
@ shimy or eywa: still a chance if I send in my replays?
Because if I get in the tourney is pretty much mine. My biggest problem during the ladder was ZvP, the matchup I pretty much broke yesterday by a new gosu strat that is unbeatable.

MarkM, you were not at work the day you finished laddering and you haven't been at work 24/7 since... Admittedly, the only reason for your not having your replays in is failure to read and/or comply by the rules. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but better luck next time.

I have a work, and I study and train, but I sent the replay immediately after finishing the group stage. You didn't read the rules nor the forum. And your attitude and the way you talk to the admins is also bad. 5 days is plenty, especially since the first 4 groups play a week after the ladder is over. You being out of town should have nothing to do with you not checking the forums or not reading the rules.
If a TL admin would be kind enough to ban him/check IP, would be most appreciated. Thank You.
In the end MarkM, it really doesn't matter what you say here, you're just causing spam. If you are indeed not a smurf, you'll be forgotten and no one is going to care about it after you get nuked from this website because you're a C rank, you're bad manner and you like to blame your troubles on others. You've seriously got no outstanding features.
In the event that you are a smurf, you will be identified and crucified and you will never play another league of organized Brood War again.
That's interesting- glad it's over lol. The rest of us have lives for your information, we just happen to have organisation too. Having said that, today I'm using my life to try and make sure I can win some games this evening! HF everyone.
Today we will be playing groups 1 through 4 at 19 CET! We will meet in op ASL on the Fish server! One of the tournament admins will meet you there. Please, please do not forget to send your replays to NoisEASL@gmail.com during the group stages.
Everyone's match is listed below their groups in the spoiler so be sure to use the correct maps ^^
I can play but if you manage to find someone to replace me by the time playing time begins, I would prefer if you let the replacement play. Sorry for the trouble.

Casting for groups 1 and 4 yesterday by L_Master and Game was just pure brilliance. I was thoroughly entertained and amused from start to finish. L_Master and Game had the combination of being clever, comical, and critical just at the right moments. The two of them meshed well together and got the viewers involved.
Also hats off to the players from groups 1 and 4 - you all did a remarkable job. I noticed that some of you were really nervous due to the importance of the games and knowing the games would be showcased to our beloved starcraft community later on. I'm positive that you guys will overcome this fear and perform even stronger in the future.
In addition to the casters & players, I'd like to praise the staff, Eywa and Shimy who did an excellent job organizing the games.
Overall 10/10 performance to the casters, players, and staff and now I can't wait to tune in for the next cast this Friday.

Well the build was on the spot. It wasn't how I plan the game. I saw his wall is not zealot tight so I build zealots. I am 100% sure on my last 30 or so pvt games, I never did zealot aggression.

Heads-up for you guys, I'm having serious problems getting Xsplit working. For no apparent reason, it crashes immediately upon opening. This is incredibly strange as it was fine only a couple of days ago. I'll do all I can to fix it within the hour.
I did ((((( and I did everything I could find on the Xsplit site. Still nothing. I've sent a support request but i don't know when or if they'll get back to me...
Maybe try a provisory software? Personally, I'd watch even if the quality is awful. Or can you get someone else to stream and commentate via skype/co-cast? I could theoretically do that but my streaming setup and observing skills are as bad as it gets.
I will be casting Group 6 tomorrow at 19:55 cet. Why 19:55? because 1955 is the year when Disneyland opened, and Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth. Disneyworld can go suck it.
Hope I got everyting right. Was it really 6 PvPs in a row?
Btw, if we're #2, I hope we can't get the #1 player from our own group, because that would be silly, we already played them.
yep I think ro16 is randomized so that might be a probability it wouldnt really matter since you would have to face them anyways if you both make it through
Reclusive did And that was supposed to be in an upcoming thread, but it's ok haha
EDIT: And the VOD issue was due to Youtube being stupid, L_Master's twitch VODS of those groups are in their entirety.
Oops. xD Yea, I should have asked before. It was in the related videos to the g1&4 vod. I guess he should have uploaded it as private and just opened it to the public later (dunno if that's possible).
