LOL Group D, Jaedong's worst nightmare at the moment given his tendency to drop out of starleagues because of ZvZ.

Stork is in a nightmare group given his current condition. He's against Shine, who's foiled him in the past, Flash, who has a wrist problem but is still Flash, and Hydra, who's solid. As much as I cheer for Stork, I can't see him getting out. I can see Flash/Hydra both getting out though. :[

I so want Stork to make it out. Flash should make it any way, wrist or not, he's still Flash. And I don't want Hydra to either ZvZ kill or fail miserably against Flash in the (semi)finals or both.
Always smile~

How are the Ro8 matchups decided? Is it based on Kespa rank or is it something like the top player from group A facing against the player that comes in 2nd place in group B?

Ouch, JD could very well be eliminated in the group stages this time around.

Flash has a cool group though, I hope he and Stork will make it through.

The latter case.

Also pretty lulzy groups. I'm excited for B, but it's pretty meh otherwise.

A: (T)Fantasy + (T)Sea
B: (T)Flash + (Z)Hydra
C: (T)BaBy + (P)JangBi
D: (Z)Jaedong + (Z)Hyuk

KESPA rank
1. (T)Flash
2. (Z)Jaedong
3. (Z)Hydra
4. (T)Fantasy
5. (T)Sea
6. (T)BaBy
7. (P)JangBi
8. (Z)Hyuk

Quarterfinals
(T)Flash vs (Z)Hyuk
(T)Fantasy vs (T)Sea

(Z)Hydra vs (T)BaBy (this might get even)
(Z)Jaedong vs (P)JangBi (looking at the KESPA rankings, this match is inevitable no matter which players pass, which makes me a sad panda) :///////////

Semis
(T)Flash vs (T)Fantasy (I don't think a injured Flash can beat Fantasy in a BO5)
(T)BaBy vs (Z)Jaedong

(T)Fantasy vs (Z)Jaedong

Seriously, Fantasy in the finals is scary, so I think he will get revenge on Jaedong just like he got revenge on Stork.

The OSL doesn't use KeSPA rank for their ro8

No way is Fantasy beating Jaedong in a Bo5. Oov's fancy builds and all the preparation in the world won't be enough to make up for the fact that Jaedong's ZvT is like a hundred times better than Fantasy's TvZ.

I don't wanna be the kind of person who blames losses on an injury, but I'm genuinely worried about Flash's wrist and resulting lack of practice, I hope it won't end up being an issue this OSL.

So true.
That being said, let's see first if JD and Fantasy can make it out of their groups...

While it's true that Fantasy's TvZ is way worse than JD's insane ZvT one must remember what a big difference there is between normal Fantasy-play and the Fantasy that comes prepared to Bo5s in Starleagues. He's pushed both JD and Flash to a Game 5 and has beaten both Stork and Bisu 3-0 in a very dominant fashion. I would hold JD as a favourite, but I wouldn't say Fantasy doesn't have a chance.

So true.
That being said, let's see first if JD and Fantasy can make it out of their groups...

Jaedong was absolutely thrown off his game when Fantasy unveiled his new build in the ONE final they played. He came back from 0-2 to win 3-2 only because Fantasy had nothing else prepared. He tried to rely on his once gimmick, and Jaedong is way too good to fall for it 3 times in a row. He goes 2 hatch muta in the subsequent games, shutting down Fantasy at the correct timing to gain the victories. Just like against Stork, Fantasy would have learned from this and will prepare more innovation and variety for another final. The fact that Jaedong is flat out better than Fantasy at the matchup isn't going to help him if Fantasy is allowed to play his game, which was exactly what happened in games 1 and 2 of the last final they played.
There is but one truth.

Ha, Stork chose to be in a group with flash?
