Baby with a slightly faster rax, scouts wrong.
Hiya scouts the right way.
|
Both expands.
Baby pressures with SCV and 2 marines. Both loses 1 marine. Hiya with 1 Fact, baby with 2.
Starport done for Hiya. 3 Fact for Baby.
More Edits: Hiya with Dropship drops 2 SCV at island.
Drops tanks at Baby's main but is cleaned up.
Baby tries to break through Hiya's tank line but is repelled.
|
oh wow that drop killed a lot of scvs for Baby.
Hiya taking 6.
|
|
Hiya snipes the CC at 12.5. Proceeds to drop tanks in Baby's main again.
|
Hiya destroys Baby's 1 o'clock. Drops at main!

Owned. That was pretty one-sided.
I hope WMF sends a zerg next.

I don't understand why baby never took his island, hiya did have the dropship advantage but surely a few turrets would have made it virtually undroppable

His Barracks got destroyed which delayed everything. Also his engineering bay keeps getting destroyed and that first drop at the main hurt a lot.

Hiya vs. Mind

Sweet micro from the karp! Wow that's like 8 scvs killed.
|
Oh HiyA!
|
prtty ballsy by mind going for CC before rax. I wonder how Hiya will react
sending a marine over to pressure mind, but midn pulls scvs to defend...this may be bad for mind after some intense battle, mind manages to get a bunker with a marine in it. Hiya fails to run his first vulture by and almost loses it. Hiya attempts a runby with 2 vulturs and a few marines, but it's virtually unsuccessful
|
Hiya sneaks in vultures by drawing fire with marines, but they don't do much.
|
Hiya has significantly more SCVs

Hiya scouts mind's starport.

Mind builds a port in the corner of his base, but a canceled fac tips him off, and he starts attacking it with a tank.

Mind does not look happy with the way this game is going.
|
Well this game was horribly 1-sided...Shows what happens when you go for fast cc against a forward rax >.< edit: Well to be more exact, that's also what happens when you build a starport on the edge that gets scouted and volleyed by siege tanks and attempt to drop a turreted natural, losing your only dropship in the process while doing no damage. *sigh* Mind =\
|
Is getting a valk for two or three wraiths while being pushed with a bunch of tanks and vultures really that good an idea?
Guess not, as mind ggs.

Well, to be honest if Mind the optimal units for the situation, equaling the cost of the valk, it still wouldn't have done him much good. The discrepancy in army size was just too huge at that point.

Hiya vs. Pure
When was the last time Pure played? Hiya's TvP was looking pretty good in the game against MBC so I think he should be able to take this game.
EDIT: It's also worth noting that Hiya is the only Terran besides Flash that beat Bisu this season. He also won a game against Stork in the OSL Ro8.

I thought HiyA's strongest match-up was TvP?
I feel so bad for FOX. They made it to the play-offs last year and now look at them: all-killed left right and center.

Hiya's TvZ is every bit as good as his TvP so...
Really, Fox has already blown this series. They have almost no chance now. TvT is Hiya's weakpoint, yet Fox has already thrown their top 2 TvT players at him and crumbled. At this point they just need to do whatever they can to knock Hiya out so it doesn't turn into an All-Kill.
But methinks it will. Hiya is really damn good.
|
I'm not sure if Pure's necessarily the best option vs. Hiya; Hiya still has some pretty decent TvP. I would've preferred someone like Roro, tbh.
edit: Just as I post this, I see Hiya executing a sick vulture/tank push vs Pure. Yeah that was over pretty quick. I think I sense a Hiya all-kill incoming.
|
HiyA pushing into the main!! :D
|
Mines destroying all of Pure's goons, Hiya able to get to his base.
|
BTW, Fortress is a really T > Z map, but in PvT it's pretty balanced, so that may be why we see Pure instead of Shine or Roro...

Teams like Wemade, Ace, and MBC are all basically fucked for Winner's League because they can't bring up a player who can consistently win multiple games. Some might have occasional flashes in the pan like Mind, Baby, and Sea but they generally never bring out consistently good results and the rest of their team is horribly imbalanced (Light can't TvP at all, Pure can't really PvZ, Sea is having some trouble with TvZ, Baby is inconsistent in everything, etc).
|

Not sure why FOX bothered with Pure. Shine or RorO would have been a better pick last game.
|
Sweet. I was hoping for some Hiya TvZ. With Roro's tendency to go 12 hatch, something tells me Hiya is going to cheese. But with Hiya's tendency to do bunker rushes against zerg, something tells me Roro might go 9 pool or overpool.
I hope I'm proven wrong and that we see a more standard game.

Well there were two OLs, he fired two volleys at the first, and moved away from hydras. The 1st OL retreated to where the hydras were, while the wraiths began attacking the 2nd OL. And then the 1st died. He had a heart attack, or something.

His build wasn't geared to fighting a muta switch at all (no range/stim and low amount of rax mean a few more turrets earlier aren't going to stop a muta allin esp in those positions) which is weird because his wraiths saw the spire make. :/

I'd love to see Killer, but JD can use a bit of confidence. Feeling that he "won the match for his team" might give a boost instead of the recent "OZ wins even without JD".

On February 27 2011 18:35 baoluvboa wrote: Oh so the past matches arent part of the regular season for the Starleagues?
With current standings, Oz is currently in 7th place for PL overall. In previous seasons, top 6 out of 12 teams went to playoffs. I believe since there are only 10 teams now, top 5 teams will make playoffs. They're only 2 wins behind fifth place and 1 behind 6th, so as long as they continue to perform well after WL is over, they should have a good chance of making the playoffs.
However, if you're talking about the WL playoffs (which happens to be based only on WL and not all PL matches), then Oz is pretty much a lock for that. They're currently second only to KT (and it is unlikely they will catch up, since KT is currently undefeated in WL), so they're basically guaranteed a spot in the WL playoffs.
|
Due to the format of the proleague playoffs, I'm pretty sure there are still going to be 6 teams making it to the playoffs.
I think Oz will overtake MBC by the end of Winner's League.
