Unlike Shine, Hiya is extremely likable. I don't think that's the biggest difference. The biggest difference is that Hiya didn't destroy Bisu's 'invincible' PvZ... twice. Remember, any zerg not named Jaedong beating Bisu will get him hated for life. Nah. There really is a huge difference in likability. Remember that game vs. Free, where Hiya went for a nuke rush (in an actual starleague game!), and it ended with Free building a Command Center in the middle of the map? That sort of thing will get you a lot of fans. All Shine has going for him is that soulless stare, which is not particularly charming. Except his OSL semi-final run where he knocked out Bisu and Stork, his infamous 10 hour tiebreakers, his epic PvZ vs Kal(?) on destination(?), His nickname is Typhoon Zerg will Hiya is named after the most useless pokemon ever. All Hiya has going for him is he looks like a fucking pokemon and plays yugioh cards while beating a drum after knocking his teammate out of the OSl. And the only reason he did that to free was because he was an arrogant prick who thought he had the series cause he was up 2-0 in a BO5. Then he proceeded to get raped and humiliated. ![]() He's AWESOME. Now shut up. I second this :D :D :D I mean the infamous 10 hour tiebreakers made people hate Shine more didn't they? and the run where he knocked out bisu and stork the same... More anti-fans than fans after that kind of run Sorry but didn't even hear about the "epic PvZ vs Kal" But yeah I shouldn't talk because I don't watch many games.... And my name is "Bisu-Fan" :D

Anyways, I didn't really have any particularly strong opinions regarding this tiebreakers since I would have been fine with any of the three players advancing, but being more inclined as a Mind fan, very excited to see him get out of tiebreakers. I know some people don't like seeing his play, but I think he plays differently in BoX rounds than he does in individual games (Hence, the title, scholar terran because he "studies" his opponents before playing them). I don't know if he still has that same prowess now, but it's always good to see it reflected in an OSL BoX.

Calm > Mind Modesty < Kal Stork > HiyA Fantasy should be able to get by his group, and I think he wins this years OSL. He's already beaten Hyuk before in the MSL, and he should be able to do it again. Calm vs Mind I think it will be Calm, but Terrans do have an advantage over Zergs. Group C and D. I would normally favor Stork over Hiya, but Hiya is 5-1 against Stork anything can happen.

I like his BoX play a lot, I think he'll take Calm 2-1, and I'm gonna enjoy watchin him do it! His only problem is he never looks happy or relaxed, he needs to lighten up some and he'll get more fans.

But hate is pretty much unavoidable when someone wins. They were rubbing it in because they knew people would react to their posts. Obviously that's what trolling is. Did you read some of the posts in the LR thread when Shine beat Bisu? The most common post was like "Fuck this I'm quitting Brood War forever" and/or "Fuck you Shine you skillless noobie", every single post was basically someone crying their eyes out, of course someone is going to rub it in. It says a lot when people are still basically shedding tears and wishing for Shine to drop out (and prefer Mind, a player whose play is so uninspiring so far, to enter the Ro8 over him) over two events, one literally a whole year ago. Its petty and no, beating someone doesn't normally get you this amount of stupid hate from the majority of Brood War posters - its like ForSC2's (?) irrational hate for Bisu multiplied by the amount of Bisu/Stork fans out there who can't come to terms that they played poorly the days they got knocked out.

In this OSL for instance, I actually prefer someone like Hyuk over Shine. Hyuk, for all the crap we give him, plays incredible late game with great army control and decision-making when he doesn't... well, hyuk himself. You can actually find great games from him. And by great I don't mean making lots of mutas and hoping the opponent doesn't expect it.
