hite looks strong vs terrans, and with the lack of consistency from wemade's zergs and tosses hite should take this.
The x-factors will be Pure and Lucifer, who I think might get played instead of shine here. The loss of Effort and the new change to Bo7 will make it hard to snipe out opponent toss players now.
Movie fails to break the bunker, loses three goons. Terran is now on 2 bases to one, with a contain. Very bad position for Movie, looking to save this with shuttle play.

He was greedy, and kept the contain significantly after expanding. 2-3 gates + shuttle + Reaver is not something you can hold a contain against this early in the game. He shoulda backed off and defended; would have left him with an economic lead.
Shitty micro with the goons, great decision with the shuttle and reaver drop did way too much damage (holy fuck who bunches their SCVs up when they get reaver dropped?)
Bringing more units to the contain was a big mistake by major. I don't understand what he was thinking as they were serving no purpose and had already done the damage. Nice recovery from Movie, but he may have gotten a little lucky.

Jaedong 9pools all the time.
9pool punishes any Forge FE opening that doesn't go Forge first, which is why Protoss usually scout immediately after 9 pylon, and build Forge and even cannons before Nexus, if they don't scout anything.
A lot of modern Protoss gamble that the Zerg won't 9pool, in which case you can take a sexy advantage by doing no-scout Nexus --> Forge.

I've seen 9pool vs. protoss. I don't ever recall seeing 12nex vs. zerg.
Stats has done it before. You only do it on 4player maps with large rush distances (where zergs rarely 9pool) and hope they 12hatch. KwarK rages about it all the time because it involves a massive gamble (instant loss...) for a small potential benefit.

Just seems like even then it would only work cross positions --> 1/3 chance of succeeding.

I'm fairly sure it also works against overpools. I can't believe Protoss would gamble that Zerg will 12 hatch.
Just play it safe, Snow, I want to see an actual game. All three games I saw involved risky early aggression that decided the game either one way or another. (Didn't see the Skyhigh or the Roro games.)

I dunno, forge -> nexus -> cannons works against overpool timing well, but nexus -> forge -> cannons doesn't seem like it would work.
That game was pretty good. Maybe a dark archon or two could have helped Snow fend off those late game attacks, since Pure had those arbiters for so long.
Ah, good match. WeMade brought their A-game, and there's no excuse for Skyhigh and Leta to drop the matchups that they did. Only bright spot was Movie's gutsy elevator play.
Someone tell Snow this isn't PvZ. Those roaming Shuttles never accomplish much and dragoons pick them off too quickly. Still love ya tho.

wemade is deep as hell too... They have an ace in each race.
If SKT1 has aces in multiple races that are S-class or near it (minus for Zerg, Kwanro is quite far from S class), and STX and Woongjin have aces that are a cut below that, WeMade is a further cut below. They have a ton of players who are definitely above mere A-teamers but no real aces.
That's not to take anything away from them, they did just win. Hite is basically WeMade plus a more plausible ace in Leta, which theoretically should mean the difference between 3rd/4th place and 6th/7th... but that doesn't mean jack when your ace loses the way he did today.

They likely wanted to avoid playing too many Terrans, given Hite's anti-Terran lineup. I predicted that they'd play only two, but wouldn't have guessed that those two would be Mind and Major. (And wow, Skyhigh fail.)

hey hey, watch your mouth there. I think a lot of people expected Mind to be the next NaDa of BW back then, but failed to the expectations. It doesn't surprise me that he can win. I just see him as a progamer that's not motivated enough.
Well, anyways, as for the series.... CJ + Hite is probably the strongest team by quantity. I am surprised that Wemade won the overall series, but taken into consideration that Wemade is, theoretically, at least the 2nd-3rd strongest team in PL (since, literally, every good player they have is not consistent with results), I guess their switch was on for tonight. I mean, guys like Mind, Baby, and Shine had their moment of success, and Pure who showed fantastic matches in the past. It's just a matter of consistency.

Back then was 3 years ago. He hasn't done shit since then, and his winrate was especially shitty since late '09/early '10.

Baby is an S-Class Ace when he's on his game.
That he is, but he really hasn't proven himself capable of maintaining that for at least a few months, which is what you'd really need to be considered S class.

BS, he showed some really good performances not so long ago. He was worth 10 points in one FPL and it certainly wasn't 3 years ago.
Is it surprising that he won over SkyHigh? Yes, a little. Definitely not holy shit worthy.

The real accomplishment is beating Skyhigh in a TvT. That's something worth celebrating.
You'd think so, and not that Mind didn't play well, but skyhigh played like a B-teamer that game. He was sloppy all around.

I wouldn't recommend any of them. I know it was movie vs major was 4/5 stars, but major failed pretty bad. I mean movie took the right path in doing what he did, but it looked like major started playing with 1 hand 5-10 minutes in to the game and just rolled over and died.
