its either being being the last bigshot of starcraft or being the last major sidekick.

JD has nothing to lose and everything to gain, Flash has everything to lose and a golden mouse to gain. JD has had more time to prepare, and has studied Flash since the MSL. Considering both these guys are the pinnacle of mechanics and game-sense, it leads to the conclusion that JD is a clear favorite. The sheer impossibility of what Flash is trying to accomplish here - after cremating the records on SL successes (no one made 2 semis twice in a row before him... and now it's his third consecutive dual finals), taking all of the titles (PL, MSL and OSL) against JD who had 2 days more to prepare with a vengeance since his MSL loss and is in peak form and motivation, it just seems too much.

I doubt (m)any games will reach late-game since these guys will want to get an edge from the very start. What I do expect is more 9pools and rax-expand builds than what we're used to.

Uh what? Not sure I follow you at all.... Jaedong leads in mechanics..SLIGHTLY...Flash has better game-sense ...SLIGHTLY. How this leads to the conclusion that JD is not just a favorite but a clear favorite doesn't compute lol.

50/50...both players have a lot of things riding on this.

Flash = Golden Mouse , 2nd person to get Dual Golds, likely to be solidifed as the best player standing ON HIS OWN. Everyone harped on his lack of dual golds keeping him from being the absolute best....This is make or break time.
Jaedong = Record breaking titles and only person to win 4 OSL's...in short he'd basically surpass Nada. Prove to everyone he won't forever be in Flash's shadow. He's got more to lose than one might think.

It's weird, whoever wins this makes history regardless. I'm routing for Flash but having the final winner be a Zerg is always nice.

I have never anticipated a Starcaft game this much before. I think the corrida metphor was good: this feels like an epic, mythical struggle. This is truly what dreams are made of.
