This. I think EffOrt predicted he'd go bio->valks->mech and planned to counter that strategy accordingly, especially considering Flash last used this strategy on this map. Effort exploited Flash's lack of pressure early extremely well and mass expanded while building lurkers to keep Flash contained before his mech is up and running. Good scourges to eliminate dropships helped too.
Overall, very well played by Effort, he studied Flash's style well and developed a hard counter. And doesn't screw up like Kwanro after getting a huge lead!
I think despite the BO loss, Flash did extremely well. Extremely sick defence.

As amazing as Flash is, i hope that neither of the finals are 3-0s for anybody. Sure he has to practice one matchup, but what if he practices so much that he takes zerg for granted. There is such a thing as ovepreparing. Plus JD and Effort have such different styles, it sort of isn't just one matchup

I blame fantasy and OoV for ruining TvZ in general, everyone copying and modifying these crappy ass denchanic, wakanic, whatever build that usually fail horribly and make for boring games compared to true bio builds.

yeah this makes me think it'll be a good finals for sure

Swarm Season is still here guys.

Ugh, from a Zerg perspective, I do NOT recommend game 1. From Flash's perspective, it was a helluva fight despite him losing and I definitely recommend it. Effort though, his play after the mass expand just pissed me off. Guardians? Then lurker, ultra, hydra against TANKS? Thank god he had that muta tech switch in there. >_< I mean, Flash nearly clawed his way back in, and after the expanding Effort did, there should be no way for Flash to do that.

I'm sure Flash will analyze this game and learn from his own mistakes as he always does. That's what is great about Flash. He always learn sth new from each loss.
This will make him only stronger.

It's not a random accident that Flash's slump in 2009 coincided with the Fantasy build vogue.

Something bad always happens when flash goes mech. damn it.

Remember when Flash lost to MVP the first game and everyone blew it out of proportion, then MVP proceeded to get 3-0ed

failed bunker rush into valk vs luker contain. this was an absolute bo loss. and from an almost lost position flash still was able to hold on for another 15 minutes and even attempt to counterattack efforts bottom expos.
sry if i sound harsh, but all u guys are really ridiculous if u think this game would prove anything beyond what it showed: effort is good enough to ride home bo victories, even against the notoriously resilient flash. he surely wont win 3 games by bo though, so all u guys hyping effort now really shouldnt overemphasize this one game. and keep in mind that its always easy to look strong and good from an advantageous position like the one effort was in.

The thing is, Effort will adapt, too. I doubt he'll be sacrificing so many ultras in a similar situation in the future like he did there (though he could afford it).

Yeah let's pretend that Effort didn't have awesome multitasking in that game, with those early scourge taking out a dropship and valks, and epic macro later on.

effort:
"yeah i'm gonna lose to forgg and go.go, but flash? that kid's a noob"

This will make him only stronger. I'm pretty sure Effort will analyze this game as well and smooth out his play. It's funny how everyone makes it seem like only Flash will be practicing hard for the finals.

and if Flash had barely won you'd say "Hahaha, Flash 3-0 ez"!
You're clearly mistaking Flash to be Jaedong.

That said, I don't think this game is really representative of anything other than the fact that Effort isn't going to let Flash beat him with kooky crap, and that Flash can still hold on for a ridiculously long time even at a 4-6 base disadvantage.

Movie vs HoeJJa....CJ should be able to take this game and hopefully win a 3rd so this might not even get to ace xD
