If EffOrt doesn't 2-0 this joke of a group I will be severely disappointed.

seriously no streamer? Noooooooooooo
|
stream please......
|
Woah, after the excitement of WL, I completely forgot that there was an MST group to be played. And then TSL tonight.
Today is too good
(Hoping for a stream, though...)

hey guys, you have to use internet explorer and have the uusee plugin for this to work, but the stream at 3.plu.cn works, just make sure you click the "uusee" button about the centre of the webpage to actually get onto the stream

and i thought id be able to watch EVERY game from korea live! some life this is.
would appreciate a stream actually.
|
I guess everyone was to focused on winners league and forgot about MST
|
Any chance of a live report at least?

bogus needs no vessels soo careless

Bogus sets up a cute medic wall, and embarrasses the first batch of ultralisks, causing them to run back home in shame.
And suddenly, Bogus actually defends his vessels really well from a lot of scourge. I'm stunned Yarnc got nothing from that.
|
|
GG... As long as Bogus loses the group 0-2, I'm satisfied.
|
GOGOGOGO YARNC!!!
EFFORT TOO!
One thing is for sure, MVP is NOT deserving of advancing.
|
Effort must lose, I really don't want ZvZ gayness.

Omfg Roffles, where did you get this music video from? Is it a new one?

wraiths chasing them down yeah

Lol, sliping nydus with wraiths.
|
4 wraiths killed the nydus leading to effort's third lol
|
|
Wow MVP is either playing really, really well or Effort is playing like utter shit.
|
Lololol, Effort is getting roflstomped by MVP. XD

after a good period of buffering we see that effort has no third and effort obviously gg'ed

I just thought they were some fluke Build Order losses -- I mean he still dismantled Stork+Jangbi recently, but man he is just sucking it up this game. It's like he's lost all of his ZvT sense.

I can't believe this.
MVP can't either apparently. He looks shocked/massively relieved he won.

Maybe Savior is in the process of stealing his powers back from Effort, like how Bisu took it back from Best a while back.

Meh.. All Effort had to do, instead of typing GG, was to pull a Mondragon and survive for 15 minutes against a 3-4 base Terran with a population of 150+ using only pleague and swarm... Lol, nevermind.
|
On February 20 2010 17:56 Juicyfruit wrote: Maybe Savior is in the process of stealing his powers back from Effort, like how Bisu took it back from Best a while back.
Bisu was MBC, Best is SKT. Best never had Bisu's powers to begin with. :p
|
People wanna say that Effort played shit there, and well I was only half-watching so he probably did, but give some credit to MVP. He's been getting good recently, he's eliminated good players in the past.
He sacced a bunch of marines for nothing to lurkers he had tanks for, but then he also displayed fantastic speed in responding to scourge with his wraiths. His macro seemed fine too AFAICT.
edit: He also responded to things like Effort's backstab very well, splitting up his army into sufficient portions to defend and harass the 3rd.
|
Ugh what the FUCK Effort?
Effort was doing just fine until he managed to let M&M get to his natural with no defense whatsoever. I don't really understand how he let that happen but the rest of the game was just a formality at that point.

EffOrt is barely below 50% over the last month and has still managed to beat Jaedong, Stork, BeSt, and JangBi. His ZvP is still solid, his ZvZ is still a coin flip (has been for a while now), it's just his ZvT that is suffering hugely atm.
|
EffOrt... I am disappoint. That was terrible. No anti-air, guardians without scourge support, chokes without defilers waiting. Seriously, WTF?

What I'd like to know is if Effort is playing this badly in practice too or if it's just some mental problem.
I mean a month ago Effort was winning games against Flash in practice.

Yarnc is playing like a beast . Unlike Effort who failed . MVP is playing pretty good as well .

Wat. No I'm talking about the period where Bisu hurt his wrist and Best became the King Protoss with his godly PvP streak, and then later on Bisu recovered and made Best seem like a chump. That was when they were both Skt players.

What was Effort even going for that game? He had a Greater Spire and Ultra Cavern, but no Defiler Mound just before he got rolled.

MVP is at 5 in Orange, Bogus is purple at 11
Both players on 4 bases, map is split
MVP forming a tank line at 9 o'clock and also at 2, preventing Bogus from securing those expos
Bogus trying to take a base at 1 o'clock, but MVP is slowly pushing up
|
MVP uses wraiths to take out Bogus's tanks at 1 o'clock, and runs the rest of his tanks to finish off the CC
His wraiths continue to pick off more of Bogus's tanks
Bogus setting up his tanks outside of the 1 o'clock, which MVP has now secured
MVP now on 5 base (he took 9 o'clock), Bogus on 4 bases
|
Bogus nooooooo, you can do this!
|
Bogus gathers up all his forces and moves across the middle bridge right into MVP's tankline
Bogus gets raped, MVP-style. The initial tank shots take out a shit-ton of Bogus's tanks, and the wraiths clean up the rest as Bogus tries to fall back
MVP moves across the bridge with his own tanks, but a mine takes out about 6-7 tanks. Doesn't matter, because he has about 12 tanks behind those.
MVP pushes into the 12 o'clock min only, and Bogus GGs
(YES MVP RO32, THIS MSL IS YOURS)
|
So al I know right now is that Yellow is in 2-0, effort is out 0-2, and Bogus and MVP will be playing each other with a record of 1-1.
How did Yarnc get this far?
How does effort lose to bogus??
EDIT, thanks to RealPenguin
Yarnc 2-0 MVP 2-1 Bogus 1-2 Effort 0-2
Yarnc and MVP move onto the next round.

I fail to see your point. I say "consistently", which doesn't imply "always". Do you really want to compare Bisu and Effort's SL success since Effort became a top PL player? It's not even close.

Hey, I'd like to apologize for not keeping the OP up. This was not because of a lack of interest, (although had I known the results beforehand, I probably would've cried in a corner and then gone straight to sleep) but because campus ITS shut down internet at 3am and only told us this morning in an email.

Effort had like 90% win rate against Terran during one of the seasons or something. I remember that from the Nate MSL group selection, when they showed the stats for racial specialists. Effort was on top of the chart, with 18-2 or something against Terran.
So WTF is this?
Also, can you please change the recommended game section? I haven't watched the WL from last night and your comment just spoiled me as to who played in the final set of Khan v.s. Oz.

Nope. He didn't win anything in the fall 2008.
Knocked out from OSL by Han. Knocked out from MSL by Free. Knocked out from GOM by Tempest.
But anyway, that's not important. The issue is what the hell is happening with Effort. He seemed to be a top player and now he is losing left and right. Seems like CJ is falling apart this season.

Jaedong's gotten a gold medal each season since his Ever 07 OSL win. I cheated and used the showmatch against Bisu ;p

This was not because of a lack of interest, (although had I known the results beforehand, I probably would've cried in a corner and then gone straight to sleep) but because campus ITS shut down internet at 3am and only told us this morning in an email.
It's all up now though. damn, what kind of school shuts down its whole internet :/ are you in high school?
No, no, totally legit maintenance, I just wasn't aware of it. I'm in college, what high school allows students to hang out in the building at 3am? I guess a boarding school...
