He couldn't hesitantly move his goons back and forth all the way across the map and allow baby to set up his base at the 7 and pump units while Iron couldn't. if he had saved his goons he might have been able to overtake baby's army before baby got his economy going. he had like eight goons to a tank, five vults, and five scvs, or something like that.

How do you propose he get to Baby's lower right? Goon micro against mines all the way across the map? That takes a long time.

I'm pretty sure he was trying to overtake baby's army before he got his econ going. I might be wrong though. He could have just been trying to clear mines...

Baby didn't have siege and wasn't going to get it anytime soon. In a situation where every goon counts, hell, save your goons.

Baby was going to get an economy and he saved his two factories, the protoss had no way to make more units. You can't assert that he had the time to shimmy back and forth all the way across the map. Even without siege, if the protoss gave baby time to make more vultures, pushing up the ramp with mines and vultures and tanks isn't easy.
