ok so if I can work out a good deal with Netolic we're gonna do this there. if not, Seoul PC is reliable and a safe backup plan. hoping we can do this at Netolic (it's basically across the street from Seoul PC) gonna give them a call on Monday talk to da owner.
I wanna work it out like Xeris had where you pay like 20 bucks which covers all your PC plus we can use 10 of it for the tourn buy in.

None of the Princeton gosus ever sign up/confirm. So I think we might be able to expect them.
I STILL feel bad about last LAN. During a game I was obsing with Machine (I think it was Magneus/HatchetWound), I allied Magneus because the colors in the game were so similar (yellow and that tan color) and I ended up forgetting about it and had allied chat on and was talking with Machine about the game.

Map pool is going to be standard iccup maps, HBR, Desti, Fighting Spirit, Python, Medusa, Moonglaive, etc. If both players agree you can use any map from iccup map pack if not loser picks from the set 6 or whatever. I'll edit those details into the OP in a bit.

Yeah... our exams end literally the week after, and then we have a one week break from the 22nd/23rd weekend to the 31st.

I've added the address into the O.P but I know most of you guys know exactly how to get there from past LAN's...
Plan for at least $20 for computer use, 10 for the buy in and 10 for 5 hours of PC time. (Everyone coming should play in the tourney, it's always fun times regardless of skill!)
Oh and as far as I know fantacy still needs a place to sleep for this!!! anyone that could house this user would be greatly loved 4 ever and ever and ever. PM HIM and hook a fellow nerd up!!! He can offer rent!

Man I really hope my car makes it up there again. Every time these LANs approach, something else happens with it.
It's actually a pretty fun drive up there, and a scary drive back. No lights, it's pitch dark and there is usually a blanket of fog everywhere. Then the road twists and turns and goes up and down so you can never be 100% sure that there isn't a car coming right for you. Add in the ever present threat of deer and it makes for one extremely tense drive.
Still worth it.

if he has a semi-decent video card he should have hdmi out available via adaptor at least. most new vid cards have display port/hdmi/dvi-d... and most mid-range/old vid cards have s-video/hdmi via adaptor/dvi.

I got a VGA cable that I've never opened out of the box if your TV has VGA input. Then I also have a VGA to DVI converter that I've opened but used like once? IDK it didn't work on my TV but my TV is old as hell. If you want I can give it to ya'll if you need a VGA or DVI input on your TV. Don't have HDMI though sorry.

Btw, confirmed that my TV has a VGA port (technically labeled "RGB PC", but looking online it appears to be just a VGA port), and does not have a DVI port. Someone will need to bring a VGA cable, but tbh, most computer monitors use VGA to VGA anyways, so we should be able to literally unplug from the monitor and go straight into the TV. Unless I'm wrong, someone more knowledgeable on the subject feel free to jump in!

there's an annoying fine line when doing these LAN's. There's two routes to go, either make it a more serious LAN with buy-in/cash prizes or go with a more casual type for the local people that usually attend regardless just for fun and socialize. (something that has been lost with sc:bw recently that I've been trying to resurrect through more regular LAN's like this)
Usually in the planning process it becomes clear how serious to take the LAN due to the players that will be attending. I didn't plan this LAN around any big names (like I had in the past with Louder/Xeris/lastshadow/slog or the November LAN with nyoken/machine/semih etc) but I did originally want a more serious LAN this time. after a while it didn't seem like going the more serious route would be smart. I probably should have posted in here a few days in advance when it was clear due to attendance numbers that it wasn't going to shape into quite the type of event as I was originally shooting for. A few people I was originally counting on when I planned this right after Christmas weren't able to come after all.
I originally wanted group play into a bracket with a buy in but with only 12 or so players in the tournament groups weren't realistic. Before we started I tried to get input from most people and felt vibes from most people that they wanted to go lower scale... (and with lower numbers already I didn't want to push people away or have them not play in the tournament due to no buy in. we had people bringing their sleeping friends who I put into the tournament bracket, would have been a complete joke to demand him to buy in he wasn't even awake he just slept the whole time at his PC lmao)
I'm not gonna be planning another LAN for a bit, schools starting up for me and I'm gonna be working alot more soon... if anyone else wants to step up that's fine and hopefully stoned_rabbit does something for MSL finals next week, keep us posted in here.
Sorry if I misled anyone or lied in the OP, it wasn't intentional, I hope everyone had a fun time and would come back regardless.
oh and Tossim the whole reason I went to the OSL viewing was cuz u said u wanted to go but then you didn't go after all. I was so dissapoint. I did my bet match with Fantacy and we were supposed to do a bet match bo7 that we never did at the LAN center. fail!
