But yeah, I'd have to say what has been already said, the best mouse is the one you feel confortable with.

Advantages of G1: 1. Lighter 2. Optical and doesn't skip 3. Easier to grip the sides - the G3 has a weird rubberized grip, which for some reason is slippery to me. Advantages of G3: 1. 500hz polling without hacks 2. Can save 2 DPI settings, switchable using the small button under wheel 3. Have side buttons 4. Better mouse feet However, the G1 is harder to find in North America. You'll only find them on ebay sellers from Asia. The Razer Salmosa has replaced my G1 (it is readily available from Newegg). You can see comparison of G1 and Salmosa shape from these pictures: http://razerblueprints.net/index.php/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,99/action,dlattach/topic,8054.0/attach,909/image/ http://razerblueprints.net/index.php/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,99/action,dlattach/topic,8054.0/attach,911/image/ http://razerblueprints.net/index.php/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,99/action,dlattach/topic,8054.0/attach,913/image/

I definitely like the one Logitech one with the adjustable weights and onboard sensitivity adjustment. That one was pretty cool, though I think I'm gonna pick up a Razer mouse should this one ever unfortunately bite the dust. Find one that you like the feel of. Personally, I like them a bit more weighty, but that's just me.

Different grips will change which kind of mouse you are comfortable with. For example most people, in general, have their entire palm touching the mouse. Whereas some only touch the mouse with the fingertips. I like this writeup by razor. http://www2.razerzone.com/MouseGuide/html/palmgrip.php

- dpi is -mostly- bullshit, so don't look for a mouse with 5.000 dpi, any relatively new mouse will have enough dpi, especially for sc - i recommend the microsoft wheel mouse optical but its really a matter of preference - i wouldn't recommend the logitech mini, i have it and the border around the buttons gets in the way, i got used to it and you might too though, i stopped using it because the MS WMO felt much better for me

With no acceleration, something like 1200dpi means you have enough sensitivity to mouse the whole screen in a square on your mousepad about 1cm^2. That's like the size of a fingernail. DPI seems like megapixels... a gimmick number, largely.
